Happy Hydroponics!!! Our lights are all LED o various types. The bigger lights go in grow tents where we use a mover to help spread the light around. Also use low wattage stationary LEDs for lettuce and starting plants for outdoors.

Sounds like you have a good lighting plan! When I started hydroponics, lighting was confusing & this video is to help other hydroponic farmers as they get started developing their systems. Thanks for sharing your ideas so others can learn from you, too!💡👩‍🌾

What is your opinion on the LED shop lights that Harbor freight sells? There are no magenta or cyan lights in them but they are efficient and bright.?.?.

For growing lettuce, like I do, any LED lighting between 5-7000 kelvin, with power equal to 35 or more watts per square foot of growing area will work. I’ve had similar results with white light and blue/red/white mixed lighting so I don’t think color is critical for growing non-blooming plants. 😊
