Rally Finland 60th Anniversary Year - The Fans, The Drivers, The History

2011 was a special year for Rally Finland - or the Thousand Lakes Rally, the original name by which it will always be known to many fans - as the event celebrated its 60th Anniversary. In this short but joyous film, the rally's unique flavour is magnificently captured through interviews with home favourites Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala, with some happy followers of rookie Brendan Reeves who cherish the event so much they have come all the way from Australia to watch, and with spectacular footage of the rally's famous jumps, shot whilst mingling on the packed spectator banks amongst Finland's friendly, raucous and knowledgeable fans. The action includes some shots of the 2011 winner, the great Sebastian Loeb.
Watch out for some quick cameos of Finnish legends Hannu Mikkola, Markku Alen and the Flying Finn himself, Ari Vatanen, all former Thousand Lakes winners who wrote chapters in the 60-year history of this extraordinary sporting spectacle!
