Keep in mind that these episodes move very quickly in their story and in the series the magazines that they show here are from the Story Life and Death and they go through much more so when Forge explains his feelings for Ororo (Storm), it is one of the few weaknesses that this cartoon has.
I dont think scott could have watched bishop go through that portal and not try to take bishop's place or something. He would have done something rash and that is risky for Nathan's life to be rash around.
Yeah, at first, I thought Bishop was going to come back with Nathan, so when Scott got upset, I didn't understand, but when Jean said goodbye, I understood why Scott did what he did.

Yes I would be totally fine with that. But ep 5, 9, 10 need some more screentime.
