I had trouble with the duck's mouth as well. It was super hard. Love the pink squid eyes.
For my loveys I use a dowel rod, and hang it between stacked crates on either side, it works great! And I just use S hooks to hang them.

You did a great job on the eyes. I use felt eyes all the time and I use hot glue to put them on. Hot glue on yarn, those suckers are never coming off 😂

How about a red headband with white dots for the black duck?
In Germany we have a charakter Namen „der kleine Rabe Socke“ („the little raven Sock“) who is waring a red and white sock.
Red would be a good color

The trick with the beak is to begin your second round in the back loops. Not the loop that is part of the V but, the little bumps behind them. That will keep your count correct, give you V stitches on the return and eliminate those pesky holes along the front.
I’ll try to find a tutorial and post it.

Love the bright pink squid color and eyes better than the lighter one. I think at a market the brighter colors would attack the kids more. Love the black duck but your right headband needs to be different, maybe something bright. Why can’t you do a white back ground and then black for the eyes? Doesn’t Daffy Duck have those colored eyes? I don’t know just a thought. All those ducks are adorable. You do such a beautiful job. As for the man with the vest I think he’s cute, I like him. I noticed that it was gone. I saw it come through as an alert on my phone but when I went to reply on my PC (because it's easier) I couldn't find it. I've had that happen to me as well. It's some weird glitch with UA-cam. The link for the baby squid is up in the description. I can't remember what the rest of the comment said I only saw if briefly before it disappeared.

For the duck beak 🦆 , have you tried crocheting it on across two rows? It gives it more height then crocheting into one round and is faster (at least for me) than sewing it on later. Those squid!! love the faces. 🦑🦑 (who knew they had a squid emoji??)
These, going by the pattern, you surface crochet in an oval shape 14 stitches.

The black duck does remind me of Daffy Duck too. Rather than headband, could you tie it around his neck as a scarf? The squid eyes look great. I take more time trying to embroider eyes than crocheting the whole project😂. What are your button orders? You mention often but I haven’t seen them😂. I used to put my day old chicks in an old tractor tire with a heat lamp suspended above.
