There’s gotta be something in the water, seems like a lot of mainstream brand spring and summer collections are kickin’ it old school, and not in the best way 😅 (looking at you CG summer collection)
I was so glad you swatched this. I'm an oldie from the Revlon Platinum nail polish era and love those pearls. Also see a couple of polished for some of the young girls in my family that love polish. The square pearl and lavenderelt my heart!
am i the only one who really loves this collection? I love those colors in all shape and form and i can work little bit harder to make it look the best. Saying that, as a nail polish collector, i already have most of those colors, but i will definitely buy the shartruse in pearl finish.
I purchased both pinks, the yellow shades, and the green/yellow polish. Now I’m wishing I’d gotten a couple more. The collection is beautiful. Thanks for the great review!
I was so disappointed by this collection. If I just want pastel colored nails, I definitely won‘t grab for a polish that needs to be built up in three coats. Also the pearly ones look so streaky and kinda uneven, which definitely wasn’t your fault as it happened in other swatcher‘s videos as well. This round clearly goes to Essie.
I think pearl polishes are in, at least with gel polish where it's probably easier to work with. You're so right, this color palette is very mid-2010s. Picture these with some muscle tanks and shutter shades.
"Another Pearl" did I just hinted a sound of a bit of disappointment there on Surf Naked? I can't help but chuckle.. 🙈🤣🤣🤣 For me, You always make the best swatching vids, I always enjoy how you honestly describe them polishes.. ❤❤❤ I'm a sucker for turquoise shades and blues(if the shade is to my liking).. but, yeah, pearls are just so hard to work with.. 😬
Thank you! It’s Mac Freckle Tone but it’s probably not showing true to color. I have to crank up the saturation on the intros to counter how washed out UA-cam and Chrome makes the video.
Does it say anywhere that they’re matte? I wasn’t expecting it and checked the bottle and don’t see it anywhere? Was it on the display and I missed it?? I have the shade “I’m yacht leaving”
no, it wasn't mentioned. I think it's pretty common for brighter neon/pastel neon shades to dry matte due to the pigments used. I always just assume its the result of the formula rather than a feature when the brand doesn't advertise it as a matte polish. Topcoat to the rescue!
Blimey, all those pearls look like OPI looked at Fancy Gloss and just did the same lol I like the colours but I think I'd go with the Fancy Gloss because theyre so opaque they stamp :)
I'm getting thrown back even further with all these pearls; there were so many of these around when I first started buying nail polish in the early 80s...I hated them then and I still hate them now 🫣 I do like these cool toned pinks we're getting lately, but on the whole this collection does not inspire me at all.
I'm pretty disappointed by this collection. I'm not a fan of Matte polish and I Hate pearl shades. There's alot of bright colors by Opi and other brands that don't need so many coats also. 😢. Oh well, at least I can save money 😅.
Edit: I loved the bright blue pearl...maybe ill get it and just sponge the last coat 🧽 💙. Wonder if I could find a sparkly polish that's not a pearl in that color... hmmm.
i am so disappointed with this collection. I'm also a little disappointed that you blamed OPI for getting you "demonitized'. If you are that worried about making money, you could just avoid saying the name and editing the screen text as "Surf Na*ed" js
Thanks for the brush strokes trick! I hate it, it looks so ugly and unprofessional... opi should work better on their formulas, I'm sick of being forced to use 3 coats to make a nail polish look decent. It's embarrassing.
I quit my day job is a must for me. Love bright pinks for summer.

I really like the way the pearl looked sponged on, I might have to try that!

Love the colors
I loveeee this collection. Usually hate pearls but I enjoy the blue and purple ones
I love a pearl underneath a jelly!! I like the look it gives!
Okay this sounds like something I can get on board with.
yesss, in Brazil it is used to do a french nail design, white pearl and then the the the sheer white.
I purchased both pinks, the yellow shades, and the green/yellow polish. Now I’m wishing I’d gotten a couple more. The collection is beautiful. Thanks for the great review!
This collection is definitely not worth getting demonitized over. Not a fan of this one at all. Thanks for the review, Jess!
Awesome collection❤
I’m loving the greens
Could you compare the pinks from this collection to the China Glaze spring collection? Just curious how close they are color-wise

I'm crazy for that Tiffany blue.

I was thinking the same thing! They have better pastels in their regular collection.
Awesome collection. I love it 😍👏👍🏻👏👍🏻❤️
I actually like the blue and orange pearls. And I don’t love pearls, but that matte finish is nice on them.
I did like the matte finish on the frosty shades. I still wouldn’t reach for them myself but I do think it looks better.
I kind of like these shades for Summer…they remind me of the sugar coated marshmallow candy eggs from Easter!
Really appreciate you reviewing this!! I'm so sad Surf Naked is a pearl. It's a cool color. I'm Yacht Leaving looks nice as well.
I just feel like we’ve seen all these colors a million times
We have lol
Good idea about the sponge
Love it.

They definitely are! Jellies are as well, but I’m okay with those being trendy lol
"Another Pearl"

yes, it was way more than a bit of disappointment haha
These shades are pretty, but I'm a hard pass on it because I can't wear frosty polish. Also, what's on your lips???? It's gorgeous!!! 💄💄💄

I haven't been following OPI as closely as I used to 5yrs or so ago... but sad that there's no "Suzi" polish in this collection!
Ughh gawd… wake me up when frosty polish is out again 🫠

Ohhh I haven’t seen the Fancy Gloss ones yet
@@jessFACE90 I think she's on a mini break but I believe she's doing a May restock and the website should be up soon.
Awesomeness
I actually love pearl finishes, so I'm kind of interested in those. The rest are very meh.
Not a fan of pearl finish and brush strokes either. I’ve decluttered most
Very disappointed in this collection. Nothing that stands out as ‘new’ and exciting …but you Jess are amazing 🤩!!!!
Thanks for the video. Think I may skip on this collection. Nothing really wowed me.
I find that with most of my OPI polishes they quickly become a 2 coat polish even when they start out as a three coater.
true

Kinda of a boring collection .. But great video ❤❤

Skate to the Party and Charge It to Their Room are ok. The rest.....yuk. Bad.....

yeah....that was a joke.

Maybe I’m conditioned but I really don’t mind needing 3 coats lol. The frosty/brush stroke polishes can gtfo though.
