The “compounding” mentioned in the title is important. People hear one or two problems with Russia’s economy and think they know how bad off Russia’s economy is. But I don’t think even the Russian Central Bank and especially the Kremlin know how bad it is. You look at organizations like the IMF who are obliged to form their opinion based on government provided stats saying that Russia is in pretty good shape and people think “maybe it’s bad but not *that bad*”. It isn’t “that bad” - it’s so much worse. Nobody who really knows the state of the Russian economy can go on camera and explain all the problems it has and how they interact. It would be a 40 hour video clip to scratch the surface. And most people don’t even have all the information about Russia. There are too many subject -the railways, the coal industry, the government bond auction failures, the taking of the deficit figures off the official budget, how corporate loans are tied to the key interest rate, the Soviet tank and artillery stocks emptying out and leaving rusted junk… the list goes on and on. Will Russia’s economy collapse tomorrow? No. Will it lose its monopoly on force to feuding nationalistic and ethnic minority militias next week? Likely not. Will it be unable to continue the war in a month? No. But none of these statements will be true forever. The trajectory is set. We just don’t know the time table.

Terrible toll on Ukraine military personnel and civillians, but the AFU seems to be putting a big hurt on the orcs. Between 1300 to 1700 casualties per day through October. September daily average was 1271 casualties. October daily average appears headed to about 150 higher. Orcs pushing the assault are in a disadvantage situation for casualties.
It's not talked about enough but Ukraine handed over all of their nukes since Russia promised to not attack them and the western countries agreed to defend Ukraine if ever needed. Then Russia invades Ukraine & I'm ashamed of how my country has handled this. Now we almost never see anything about this on the news. They focus way more on the mess in Gaza. I would like to see an interview concerning what is going in Ukraine involving the Military, reports are that Ukraine has 900,000 personnel in it's military but only have more than 100,000 on the front lines or in combat. There are concerns that the army needs reformed and that many of the Officers need to be replaced, those that have been replaced because of their crimes have not been prosecuted and so on. If Ukraine does not have the supplies to put more troops into action than that should be made an issue instead of such things as demanding Tomahawk missiles which are launched from a ship, not from the ground or the air. Ukraine has one public face, it needs to have a team which should have a humanitarian office represented. Ukraine needs to be in touch with the rest of the world, Russia is dominating the news and is legitimizing itself and it's actions. "Any contemplation of human nature will tell you that victim blaming is a vagary of human nature and it must be countered". As I see it Zelenskyy will become more belligerent with the west, if he does so he will not remain President for long, Ukraine must face the world as a group, if they lose Zelenskyy they will lose international support. Is there even a back up plan?
As a NATO trained military the ratio of support to fighters is usually 35/40% to 65/60% so you 100,000 on the front line is short somewhat if Ukraine has 900,000 personnel in total.

The thing with the whole BRIC idea is quite simple. As a purely "free trade" organisation, there is nothing wrong with it, any group of countries can and do create such multi-National Organisation.

I would like to see an interview concerning what is going in Ukraine involving the Military, reports are that Ukraine has 900,000 personnel in it's military but only have more than 100,000 on the front lines or in combat.
There are concerns that the army needs reformed and that many of the Officers need to be replaced, those that have been replaced because of their crimes have not been prosecuted and so on.
If Ukraine does not have the supplies to put more troops into action than that should be made an issue instead of such things as demanding Tomahawk missiles which are launched from a ship, not from the ground or the air.
Ukraine has one public face, it needs to have a team which should have a humanitarian office represented. Ukraine needs to be in touch with the rest of the world, Russia is dominating the news and is legitimizing itself and it's actions.

As I see it Zelenskyy will become more belligerent with the west, if he does so he will not remain President for long, Ukraine must face the world as a group, if they lose Zelenskyy they will lose international support. Is there even a back up plan?
As a NATO trained military the ratio of support to fighters is usually 35/40% to 65/60% so you 100,000 on the front line is short somewhat if Ukraine has 900,000 personnel in total.
