What an articulate individual Chuck Pfarrer is. Nothing political, just straight to the point when answering Jason's questions. And no sign of panic directed towards Ukraines current status. This is what you get from a highly ranked military man, but not from politicians. Very refreshing.

Enjoy the post and interview. Mr. Pfarrer is awesome! I find it very disconcerting that so many with his background are online expressing indifference to the Ukrainians or outright hostility to them, ignore History and also repeat the narrative that it is not the place of the US. Mr.Pfarrer is a breath of fresh air where so many former Operators seem to be indifferent or Anti-Ukraine and Anti-Europe.

They watched Ukrainians in 2014 and gave it a good shot themselves in 2020...I photographed both events....until Belarusian Security expelled many of us. Ukraine has been fighting to not become another Belarus since they declared independence from the Soviet Union...and that is exactly what they are fighting for now with their lives. Ukrainians were successful in deposing their Kremlin backed puppet (Yanukovic) because Ukraine has always had much longer robust history of civil disobedience and democracy than Belarus...yes it was deeply corrupt democracy, but a democracy none the less. Belarus has never had this. Putin couldn't get away with putting down the Maidan in 2014 as he was in Minsk in 2020. Mostly because Lukashenko's security apparatus is far more robust and far more linked to the Kremlin. Putin I'm sure was hoping Yanukovic was going to crush the revolt on the Maidan...but Yanukovic was no Lukashenko, so when his flunky fled in the night...he soon invaded and annexed Crimea instead...as a pre-curser to his 2022 full scale invasion.

Mr Pfarrer's last comments about morale are spot on. Also, in the armies of yore, regular men were cannon fodder. Nowadays, being cannon fodder doesn't have much appeal. Ultimately, the long arc of the moral universe will catch up with Putin's regime which will fall, as dictatorships and empires do, because their leaders are too power hungry to learn the lessons of history.

I was hoping for a little more in Chuck’s 100,000 ft. view regarding the challenges Putin is facing in dealing with Russia’s other supposed allies and how the diminishment of his military is resulting in waning power in his own backyard. Besides the fall of Assad and the legal/political pushback in Georgia, Moldova and Romania, what is the latest on with the failure of Russia in dealing with tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan? Are there any fissures in the other republics that are becoming evident?

Alluding to my previous comment about Chuck considering a presidential run was another futility of thought of most US high ranking members considering a presidential run because they are not good at begging for donations for a campaign. I remember trump saying in 2015 saying something like he was going to fund himself. Another of thousands of misinformation, lies, grifting and lack of moral compass. I still hold some hope that he will NOT hold Ukraine out to dry, But I wouldn't bet my wife on it 😂

Both r facing a much more powerful opponent who started aggression (Catherine the Great fit Ukraine & the 1948 Nakba for Palestine) who doesn't even think they exist as a people or a state. Both the Ukranians & Palestinians fightt back heroically against all odds, and imo will win the war in the long run. Free Palestine & Slava Ukraini!

My amateur analysis exactly of 7/10 - and why Putin at least suggested, if not actually plotted, the whole thing to 1) harm the West, and 2) torpedo the possible advancing peace plans of local leaders. There ARE only two life-lines possible for this axis.
The mass of "Useful Idiots" all over, STILL condemning, not Hamas - using their people as raw cannon fodder to beat the IDF, but those IDF with the option - lose the fight, or disregard inevitable collateral.
The other, naturally, the Putin installed GOP/47 train wreck about to inflict vindictive chaos in the White House. That, hopefully, should fall to pieces under its own contradictions (but I was sure of THAT by December 2016!)

Wait a minute! It's not is it? Russian TV is crazy. It's pathetic. It's a "brittle enemy" as you put it.
