    I love the free outlines you give on your website, it really helps with focusing on your lecture rather than just trying to catch up with the notes.       There are multiple factors. The most significant in this case or reaction is the steric hindrance and inductive effect. Aldehydes especially methanal has very minimum steric hindrance and stability which imply its higher reactivity than ethanal and propanone. Hope, you will find this helpful.
