    It's easier to remember like this: PHQ-9. 5, 10, 15, 20 cutoffs for mild, mod, mod-severe, severe. GAD-7: 0, 5, 10, 15 for minimal, mild, mod, severe. COWS: 5, 13, 25, 36: mild, mod, mod-severe, severe. MMSE: > 27, 18, 10, 0 for normal, mild, moderate, severe. SLUMS: 27, 21, 1 for normal, mild, dementia (severe). Just remember the cutoff points for each instead of ranges. If u remember the cutoffs, then you don't need to memorize the ranges.
    OK. So, look at the ANCC blueprint. They focus on PHQ-9, GAD-7, CIWA, COWS, Vanderbilt ADHD, DAST, AUDIT-C,
    -- But ANCC review IQ bank also covers: EPS (AIMS), clock drawing test, MMSE, CRAFFT, BARS, Abuse Assessment Screen (AAS), Danger Assessment, IADL scale, DISCUS, simplified diagnoses for tardive dyskinesia scale (SD-TD), Modified Simpson-Angus Scale (MSAS), and EPDS for postpartum depression.

    This was really great. The first two times I watched it it didn't make sense to me. By the third and fourth time I had it! I went right in the testing center and wrote that out before I started my exam. I got at least three questions right as a result of this. Maybe more. Thank you so much! And I passed!

    Hello! thanks for posting- where do you see that you should start treatment for a rating of 7 on COWS and 8 on CIWA, respectively?

    • @PMHNP101
      @PMHNP101  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. Great question. In clinical setting, it's typically the protocol 99.9%. Prophylactic medication should be started for any patient with a total CIWA score of 8 or greater (ie. start on withdrawal medication). As far as COWS, I have attached a link for the journal article for your reference and also a COWS scale to help.

    Thank you for the info. Is that scoring for Beck II? I think Beck I is 0-9 normal, 10-18 mild, 19-29 moderate and >30 severe? Which one is going to be on the exam?

    • @PMHNP101
      @PMHNP101  3 роки тому +2

      Note in this video, I cover Beck scale for depression. There is Beck scale of anxiety as well. You might want to check. I have seen 1 or 2 number changes in the ranges of the scales overall but remember, the test taker is going to test your knowledge to see if you can tell not the different from 1 or 2 point difference but there may be a 3 or more point difference in the ranges. So for example if i gave you, a number, can you differentiate what is normal vs moderate? If Yes, then You are good!
