Many law enforcement helicopters have FLIR.
So it’s likely they would have found you even if you were both just sleeping peacefully in the tent.
If they were “too busy” to come back a few hours later, they might come on a different day, or someone on a different shift might stop by.
The next guy might not be as easy going as who you met today.
If there’s a vandalism issue unrelated to you, they will be returning on a regular basis.
It’s also possible there was no vandalism, and that was just they’re excuse to talk to you.
It’s basically illegal to be alive unless you pay a fee somehow 🤦🏻

You are PARANOID. In California where I live, and this man lives, law enforcement looks for criminals like this all the time. This isn't random. They were searching for a guy who was causing problems. They search for them with DRONES and HELICOPTERS and they use infrared technology to follow criminals as they flee. Hell, they even use this technology in New York City.
Have you honestly never seen the helicopter chases in California? I ask because they are quite legendary on the internet. Where we live (and you don't), we know...almost any time...we hear helicopter circling above our homes, our schools, our business, or our highways, that they are SEARCHING FOR CRIMINALS. This is *normative* here.
You are correct that law enforcement are trained to lie, but that is the ONLY part you are correct about.

Maybe the cops should raid all the high priced landlord’s houses. They’d get more cash that way instead of fleecing a person who doesn’t desire to be a part of the socio economic rent trap. Just a thought. 😊

You are correct that mylar safety blankets block 95-98% of heat signature as long as you are not touching them directly.
I'd try and line the inside of the tent with them rather than the outside. More tricky to do, but shiny silver will shine out in daylight unless totally covered with cloth.

However you got a dog which is more baggage. To live the life your doing i cant imagine how hard it is with a dog. A large tent is hard to conceal. A large camo/green or brown tarp and ground sheet can be set up much lower 2-3' high max. Camo netting is cheap and invaluble, as is camo paint. Just add vegetation and vanish.
An alcohol stove is very good for cooking in non-secure environments minding heat signatures.
Your thermal mass will show through thin fabrics but one or more layers of canvas with spacing/airflow will disperse most heat signatures assuming no heat source or flame.

Hey Adrian. Sorry this is happened to you. I'm currently going through it with the police here in Spain.
I've stuck to my guns though. Im on private land where the owner hasnt complained and the authorities keep trying to move me on, despite it being none of their concern.
Absent a complaint from the actual land owner you are probably good to stand your ground. And no, the police shoukd not go out of their way to contact the land owner and solicit a trespass on you (or me). Without a complaint from the owner (not a neighbour) you should be fine. Maube you got a lawyer nearby who offers a first hour free consultation.
Stand firm my man. It can bring grief. But I've been on my spot for over 18 months now. Months go by with no trouble, then 2, 3 or 4 visits in quick succession. But I'm still here.
It's all documented on my channel.
    Stay safe mate.

I'm seeing a lot of suggestions for camping on BLM land, if you go that route, you need to know their laws on how long your can stay there legally. Blm dot gov says, "Dispersed camping is generally allowed on public land for a period not to exceed 14 days within a 28 consecutive day period." So, it's not a permanent solution but it's still an option. For your journey, where you need to be close to work, most of this land is far away from towns and cities so it's not ideal.

I'm sorry to hear about this brother. They could never leave me alone when I lived that way either and its heartbreaking. I dont like to assume but im pretty sure they used the vandalism excuse to search your things to look for something to arrest you on and the helicopter was because there were multiple calls about someone living back there and they were too lazy to find you on foot. I could be wrong but I've lived it too many times to not think like that. Their time is short and they know it that's why they act that way. "In those days, when man builds a house he will keep living in it- it will not be destroyed by invading armies as in the past. My people will plant vineyards and eat the fruit themselves- their enemies will not confiscate it." - Isaiah 65:21-22 talking about what it will be like when the kingdom of heaven(Jesus's Holy Spirit) reigns.

Anytime your on foot it's a major hassle, particularly if you have obligations like work etc.
That would be a good spot EXCEPT for all the homes in the area, people are nosey and project their ignorance and fears on others. Another major issue is egress routes, if you take the same paths, routes or are seen in the same area people notice it.
Stealth camping is a must, I've had people 20-30 feet away and closer but clueless I was there. The camo is good but way to sparse in terms of coverage. Absolutely no fires, smoke and smell is a givaway and now thermal signature as well at least in city limits.
You might try apps that show trails and hunting areas, good maps are an investment. The best thing about out of the way rural areas is your away from the kaos monkey crowd. Unfortunately the authorities will always herd everyone into the same area, homeless, elderly, junkies, criminals usually with very bad results. My experience is the "authorities" are often the cause of the problems, but it's a profitable business model even though it's despicable.

It's not illegal to sleep outside. However, in certain places, and on certain land, where you don't have permission from the owners. Then that can be illegal itself. They only make it out to be illegal, because then they can't make money off of you. They want you back in society, so you can be a good lil member of society. Just so, they can make money off of you, by you working your ass off. My advice is, find someone with. Some private land. Offer to do work for them as a trade. That's what I did, now they can't do nothing to me.

Hopefully you find a safe space. Really enjoy watching your videos, we have similar visions. It's not 250 but about 150 for a year, it was cool trusted house sitters, we did it full time in SF for 2 months and a half. Still constraining if you don't want to be in the city, not many sits, plus you don't know what type of hosts you gonna pet sit for so it's another story and many animals can be difficult especially as rescue not letting you sleep at night or too needy. So you get shelter but lots of responsibilities too and yeah you have to go through a background check. Why are you not staying on BLM lands outside the city?

    • @AJourneyFromNothing
      @AJourneyFromNothing  6 місяців тому +2

I actually never heard of BLM land, maybe once or twice but never knew it was land free enough to camp and live on. Looking into it more, thanks for that. I’m in the city area because of the work I do. My friend has land she wants me to build on, she’s handicap and looking for people to use the property she’s bought, but it’s in 29 palms, way out in the desert. And there’s.. no way for me to make money. I do photography, so, I kinda need to be where the money is for now. I’ll be sure to answer more in videos, otherwise I’d be typing whole essays lol. Mind if I answer your question in a future video? Able to include your name or would you prefer to be anonymous?

@@AJourneyFromNothingYou can definitely mention our channel, I don't mind. Yeah we have been moving around on different BLM lands for the past 6 months. Now we are in the forest near Sedona(10 miles), you just have to make sure you move every 2 weeks or you don't and let the forest services kick you out at some point and come back 2 weeks after. Now we have been staying for one month in the same spot. So yeah just a little research online and you will find different BLM lands depending on your area.

So this is natural fields of shrubs? How does a person know it isn't someone's crop of sage plants?

    • @AJourneyFromNothing
      @AJourneyFromNothing  6 місяців тому

There’s only a few Sage bushes around here where I am. There’s much more near the mountains about an hr bike ride from me. This land, I was told by the cops, was owned I think by parks and recreation. Basically the city owns the land from what I understand anyway.

You have a bike have you considered making a bike camper? You could travel as well as live and keep your things together in it.
Steve Wallis Step 2 he just made one. Paul Elkins and Quiet Nerd. they have made them just thinking you could come up with something cool you seem to be very creative and just might give you some idea's for your travels. Also maybe one of the ebike companys may give you a ebike to review and one of the solar companies might give you one of their solar generators to review. There's more then one way to skin a cat if ya get my drift.

Sorry. I'm torn on the subject of nomadic living. Seems like it should be a case-by-case basis, rather than a blanket policy. If every nomad lived respectfully with the land the way you are, I see no problem. It's really a lovely way to live. But so many nomads are struggling with mental illness and addiction and trashing their surroundings and creating an unsightly, unusable environment for other people who wish to use an area. You ask really relevant, poignant questions. Can you rent a small storage space to keep your stuff for a few days while you figure things out. I'd hate for someone to come upon your stuff and take it. Probably not likely. But hope you can remember where you put everything. Housesitters generally pay you to stay at their homes and watch over their homes. Good luck to you.

People are programmed robot slaves of the system thinking happyness starts with extern factors like status, money, material things that means nothing and its relativ and an illusion create by society.
If your happyness depend on extern factors you will never be because extern factors are endless.
    Happyness starts inside you.
Thats why a lot of people work and then buy out of emptyness stuff to create an illusion for the outside world.
The more people around you, the more expectations, talk about others, lying, frustrations, negativity, jealousy, double standards, own benefits, hate, judge, comparing etc..... reflection of their broken empty souls.
Alone or in solitude you have more strength, peace, power, happyness, freedom and time.
Thats why i choose to live my life alone and change everything for now 5 years ago......no tv, social media, stuff etc....in sollitude and what a different.
End of the day do what makes you happy.
Be the light in your own life.
The here and now is where the magic happens
