monke brains dude, the explosion damage is calculated by how many invisible ‘explosion’ rays hit the feet of the player(s) so it’s just how much of the explosion hits t(e player’s feet.

Get your facts right. Explosion damage directly affects feet, not leggings. If you use a slab to crystal-block you’ll take the same damage as a full block

Nothing to do w/ leggings but the lower part of the player hitbox. And cpvp has been a thing since crystals were introduced.
It’s also based on the feet section - block a crystal with a slab, you take little dmg, and blast protection boots are more effective than leggings…
@Voidflyssa you just paraphrased what I just said and proceeded to also cap regarding boots being more effective. They're not. Ideally, it's the leggings since they're the 3rd to break, but protection wise, it could go onto any piece of armor.
It has been 4 weeks and I look back on this comment in shame.
However I did not paraphrase, merely added specification by saying “feet section” which implies where the boots are placed. You, however, only said the lower half. Thank you for your criticism though.

first crystal pvp wasnt made in 1.16 secondly thats not a counter at all
He didnt say that 1.16 is when it was invented, but when it became the meta. Most ppl besides 2b2t players (the cpvp place of origin) still used axe and sword after 1.9 was released. 1.16 added anchors, making the pvp type more interesting and accessible due to the new ability to make ghast farms to make crystals
