There aren't any climate change deniers in the northern areas as the poles have had much worse changes than lower latitudes. You can talk to anyone above the arctic circle: climate change is making their lives much worse.
I have had a only a slight introduction to arctic sea ice. I was concerned about salt trapped in the sea ice. In 2003, when I visited Qikiqtarjuaq, formerly known as Broughton Island, in Nunavut, I stayed a few days in a "motel". It was little more than a mobile home, but I enjoyed my stay as I had heat and shelter from the polar bears. Then I camped outside of town for a few days. Fortunately, there was a family from town who were camped out there to do their seal hunting. They all had guns so I felt safe from the bears. I watched their hunting, and they shared some King salmon soup with me. We collected fresh water from small pools from the land fast ice. Other than snow, or bottled water from the store, it was the only fresh water available.

Karen: one short video can't do everything! I had to focus on just a few of the things I experienced in the field or it would have gone too long.
