Love that color! My sister has a 96 with only 12k miles.. heater doesn't get hot but haven't found leaks.. will definitely flush.. caught your vid just to check out core removal.. great info!
@Batu Zulu it belonged to my Father..ALL ORIGINAL. The man drove it occasionally and only when the weather was nice. Living up north, he wouldn't even drive it in winter
I have a 1995 caprice wagon 5.7L and the heat doesn’t get really warm. But the engine temp gauge only goes up to 1/4. Previous owner said they flushed it though.
The correct way to do a complete flush these LT1 engines is to pull both knock sensors. A lot of sediment will remain in the engine and will reintroduce itself into the coolant system if not flushed correctly and will block your heater core.
You prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any help you can give me.
@Dash Byron thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I wish I were that mechanically talented. What can I expect to pay someone for this? Just bought one last week where some of the work was started, or at least the core was bypassed.
There is a total of 8 screws that hold up that pan/box not including the 2 holding the bracket for core...I was able to get them all out without cutting tabs off...but was giving me hell...lol
@@beecnote7742 If this is a Caprice we're talking about you should have a flex fan check the clutch sometimes if you spin the clutch by hand after a minute it'll spin freely which is no good the clutch could be bad and It will overheat just because it spins doesn't mean it's working A good way to check This is to spin fan while car is off just keep spinning it and see if it becomes freer and easier to spend you'll know the clutch is no good then
What would/could be the cause of an LT1 over heating when parking? The car starts overheating fast when I'm slowly manuvering (Few feet forward, few feet back etc) into a parking space Car is fine at all other times Water pump, thermostat, and coolant are all about 1 year old I bled the system Fuses and box LOOKED ok Just put on a new ac delco rad cap Unplugged the WP to test the fans and the drivers side works but NOT the passenger side Neither the AC or the heat hasn't worked for over a year btw
Is it getting all the way to ‘H’ on the gauge? My Roadmaster gets really close to the H before kicking on the electric fan. That’s fairly normal, just a really high factory temp set point for that fan. Always ran below 1/2 with the mechanical fan, but sounded like a UPS truck.
Gotta a 96 bout to do the same bruh I really appreciate the video just saved me $300.
No worries man, I noticed no one had a vid on it so figured I'd make one
Gotta do this job on my 96 Roadmaster, thanks for showing me what I’m in for. Nice impala man
I'm changing out my heater core on a 92 caprice pretty much the same. Thank you for your video.

Yeah right that engine was replaced then lol

I have this same model and after watching this video I'm sure I have this same problem, definitely gotta get on it
Yo how do you get the bolts in the back of the cover? The car you forgetting is the caprice. I have 95 caprice
Where did you get the replacement heater core from?
From start to finish, how long you think that job takes time wise?

Just bought a 1995 sedan doing the same thing you have any luck?
@@joeyhowell6711 I replaced the thermostat and it still does the same thing. The mechanic didn’t seem to be concerned.
Good job man ! She is in a really good condition 👍🏻
Thanks man!
Pretty good work bro looking good man looking real good

Quick question did u have to get a tune on the computer after u installed that cold air intake?
No tune needed
Looks good brother. Keep up the good work and get ready to SC that thing👍

@Dash Byron It worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
@Jalen Tristen happy to help :D
Nice video bro. Very informative. Any new content on it?

Did you use all three coolant jugs?
like 1.5 gals
Nice work
Those badges on the side where you get them from?
Amazon

Definitely a job I would not wanna do anytime soon😂
I can’t find my coolant leak but I smell it when I drive it.. carpet dry, & heats still warm.....not sure if it’s the heater core or not..
Check freeze out plugs! Had same problem!
@@dennisesposito9837 freeze plugs on motor, and actually my motor gets hot in traffic stand still idle

I need to do the AC evaporator core underneath the dash. It’s leaking water. Not looking forward to that $hit.
On the 4th gen gen!?
Yeap
How about all the brown junk in the reservoir
96 impala ss shift button on handle come out not good.
Why didn’t you clean the coolant reservoir. You said it yourself: it’s nasty
My 96 had 7 screws holding the cover on the heater core 🤦🏾♂️ pain in the arse! 😂
Shit definitely sucks either way 🤣😭
