I dunno, it might've not been in the game when doors didn't exist yet... or was water added after doors? Back when minecraft was a browser game, anyway.
@@cryptik2205in bedrock it was. In java (This version) it still is not. Waterlogging came far after and does not apply to doors

No, but Martin is playing on Hardcore Mode, which means that if someone dies, they cannot respawn. Personally, I would've killed the pranksters and just keep playing.

Doors are two blocks high. Iff you place one under water, these two blocks can't be okupied by things like water. This alowes to create pockets of air where you can recover your breath.
It even works with lavapools, as long as the door isn't made of flameable materials.
as far as my knowledge goes, doors cant burn no matter what they are made of, atleast in java edition
You need not worry about having to do a complete restart when you die in Minecraft (Unless you're playing Hardcore Mode, which I have never done).
Minecraft has at least four game modes that I know of;
-Survival(If you die, you can respawn, you just have to retrieve your stuff from where you died within 5 minutes or so or it'll all disappear.)
-Creative(UNLIMITED POWWEERRRRRR!!!!!!)
-Adventure(For Bedrock Only, basically like playing a story.)
-Hardcore(Basically Survival, but if you die, then you cannot respawn.)
Minecraft has four difficulties that affect gameplay in various ways.
-Peaceful: No hostile Mobs spawn(Except the Ender Dragon, the Phantoms[I think] and the Warden) and you will never lose hunger.
-Easy: Slowly lose hunger, some mobs spawn at night take minor damage, and when you're Starving, you'll be stuck at half a heart until you eat something.
Normal: Lose hunger at a moderate rate, more mobs spawn at night, take slightly more damage, and you'll probably still be at half a heart when you're Starving.
-Hard: Lost hunger faster, far more mobs spawn at night, take more damage, and probably starve to death.
Creepers are also affected by the difficulty as it increases their blast radius, and the mobs get slightly beefier as the difficulty goes up. (You can change the difficulty at any time when paused.)
Endermen are considered Neutral Mobs and only turn aggro once you look at them directly in the eyes, which you can counter by carving a Pumpkin with a pair of Shears and putting it on your head.
There are a few obvious and somewhat unspoken rules about Minecraft.
The two most important ones are.
*NEVER* dig straight up or down
And *NEVER* try to sleep in the Nether.
The only goals in Minecraft are the ones you set yourself. You could do what they do, and go fight the Ender Dragon, you could decide to just explore the world as a nomad, or you could settle down and build things.
In Creative mode, you get unlimited building materials and are invincible. Perfect for if you just want to build a personal project of yours. Many players who have played this game have created insane structures and contraptions.
Piglins (The things Martin died to in his practice runs) are hostile to you unless you're wearing any piece of Golden Armor (Except the Brute, who will aggro you regardless.) You can throw a Gold Ingot at regular Piglins and they'll throw a random item back at you. Sometimes it's a good item, sometimes it's not, but it's a quick and simple way to do "trading" as opposed to the Villagers of the Overworld, in which you need either the martial their profession calls for, or Emeralds, which are a BITCH to find regularly.
Mobs spawn rates IIRC are reversed more on easy less on hard -and on normal you will die of hunger-

Adventure Mode can be toggled on in Minecraft Java by inputting the /SetGamemode 2 command.

For those who don’t get the joke, Minecraft has joined the hallowed ranks of Smash Brothers, Fortnite, and other games where it’s revealed that some VERY famous players and streamers were groomers, resulting in LOTS of jokes and memes to that effect.
