Wonderful report and welcome to my hometown Jayden! That was a beautiful takeoff from SFO and approach to YVR. I'm surprised that they did not offer hot meal for your flight. I also flew this route in 2019 in the same domestic first class and was given a hot meal back then.
Dang! They must’ve increased the minimum miles for flights with meal service since 2019. For a flight over 2 hours I deffo expected a meal!
Hi Jayden thank you for the video like you said seat on plane was old looking but did look comfortable. You accommodation was really nice good to catch up with friends.

24 year old 737-800, you sure you were flying United and not Pan-AM 😉- I will never again complain about Virgin and Qantas fleet.
Some of QF 737’s were built in 2001 so approaching 24 years now

Great video, Jayden! The lounge looked great. It's nice they have a restaurant even though it is pretty small. The cabin looked really old. However, I like the old first class seats than the newer ones. They tend to be more comfortable. Too bad your flight was 1 mile too short for a meal! 😊 Hope you enjoyed your time in Canada!

I’ll never complain about how old some of the Qantas planes are after seeing your video. I don’t think I’d be comfortable on a 24 year old plane! 🤷♀️
😂😂😂 delta planes are surprisingly well maintained. Some are 30+ years old and looking fresh inside

Continental was my childhood airline, United's non Sky Interior 737s are nostalgic, and they actually give a cozy vibe, the cabin is a familiar liminal space. That said, NEXT retrofits for 737NGs will start with a 737-800 that does not have Sky Interior, and there are so many ways to retrofit a non-BSI 737
I personally think that seat model is great. Yes it's old, but so much better than many other similar ones.
I liked it too. It’s thicker than most modern ones. You really feel the difference when you recline

US airlines really lacking in their domestic service. Also that landing footage is stunning
U.S carriers don't know what First-class service is, or Business class either!
But it's perhaps better than what passes for business class within Europe!
I guess their model is so different. Many in the US get free upgrades and they expect it. It’s mostly for the biggest seat onboard if not economy plus

Well I must admit , I reckon the business class cabin looked like a cross between Virgin and Qantas ! 😂
...but with the added advantage of a very....slow.....IFE. !🥺
A bit of a disappointment that no meal was served on this flight. My only comparison in Australia , would be the Melbourne to Gold Coast route , where a meal is served in business class !
But those original 737 old gals are a great old workhorse of the airline industry ! ❤

Can you connect a headset with a cable or Bluetooth to your seat entertainment system? I saw that you showed the power connection briefly but that was it.
sorry I forgot to show, but you can use the headsets they provide or use your own. Bluetooth is only available on the MAX planes

That is disgraceful that they don’t give you hot food on a 2 1/2 hour flight even though it’s 1 mile short of their hot meals. at least you got complementary food in the Polaris lounge❤️✈️

Out of my many flights arriving or leaving US or between US cities I've never seen cops checking each passenger's boarding pass prior to boarding, at least in HNL, SEA, DFW, DAL, BUF, MDW, and OGG. Seems like a not-so-common protocol?

18:25 this was painful to watch. If you turn the knob up - the window tilts back, allowing for air to come in. If you turn it to the left - it opens like a normal window, and in down position it's closed.

Gosh, the food offerings are pathetic even on international flights! 😅
Technically speaking this would be an international route but in North America both US and Canada are considered "domestic." US domestic (with maybe a few exceptions) has been like this for ages. Back in the 1980s I took EA (Eastern Airlines - now closed down) F class ATL-MIA and, again, just a small and simple cold meal.
That's their First Class? More like Premium Economy. Not too flash!
