    Couple these with the Whidden click adjustable die rings and it may be perfection. With the flats on top it seems that you wouldn’t have to remove the pilot to make the depth adjustment.

    I would think if you are spend that kind of money for a reamer system, you got the money for a gunsmith. Not hating on it. I haven't made it to that level. On my way. Thanks for the vid.

      It’s not always about the money. A lot of gunsmiths don’t like making weird one off type things as there just isn’t the money in it. Technically, making one of these takes almost the same amount of time and effort as it does to chamber a rifle which means a gunsmith could easily charge $100 or more to make you something like this if they weren’t doing it as a favor. It actually takes a lot of work and that takes away from them doing a real gun job. So having something like this saves you having to wait weeks or months for a gunsmith to make it even if they wanted to.

    If I dont have a reamer, how would I smooth this out?

    Sorry to be late to the party, but based on another review of yours I just watched from a year ago, why wouldn't I just do the Lyman case trimmer express, rather than my endless wait to find a Giraud and then still have to deal with adjustments and this pilot situation? I'm not trying to be controversial but just ask the question where is my money best spent. Has your opinion of the Lyman changed? Or is it simply a case of well I own the Giraud anyway might as well use it

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  3 роки тому +3

      It's a very fair question. The Lyman is a great unit for the money and honestly is tough to beat.....EXCEPT it doesn't deburr and chamfer at the same time and that's a huge amount of time savings. So it really comes down to which method is worth what for you. Some people don't mind saving the money and then doing the the chamfur & deburr another way and some just want to do it all at once. Both are great machines, just figure out what's important to you.

    I'm unclear as to exactly WHAT it is about the Giraud-supplied case holders that you find unsatisfactory? Would you kindly elaborate a bit. Many thanks.

      I withdraw the question! I just viewed your video explaining why you prefer the custom case holder.

    How is the consistency of the trimming given these pilots are plastic and not metal?

      I never had an issue. You’re not applying a massive amount of pressure to it.
