Travelled to Highbury with Dad for this game....but we couldn't get in! Absolutely packed....Arsenal only averaged 20,000 on other matches that year! So we went to the toy shop instead!! Ha....x

Attendance was 43,000 ... but Highbury at that time held around 60,000.. so was far from packed.. .. can't see why you wouldn't have got in the ground.. Arsenal average attendance that season was 28,000
Wow. I like hearing stories about the elder gooners who went to Highbury. I went to my first game in 2006 when I was 3. That’s when I became a gooner. I never went to Highbury. I wish I did though.
As the memory fades, it confuses me more,. . . lol. It was about 2 months before my 10th birthday, I knew I was 9 at the time, which is why I thought it was '74.
Alan Ball - a much missed man. A fiery little bugger, but what a player, what a competitor. Liam Brady too..... great times, though it must be said that grass technology has improved.....
Arsenal had so many great players for 73-78 but we’re a pretty awful team........ A number of world class players Ball, Brady, Hudson, McDonald, O’Leary.
Brady and Alan Ball forgot they played together. The arsenal pitch was actually one of the better ones , Tottenham's would be completely sand by then! Also had underpitch heating so they could play in frosty weather
Football from England !!!! I loved it !!!! real british players playing real british football inside a real british stadium on a muddy pitch from the seventies !!!! I missed all that !!!! Now we have this farce of premier league that they should rename as African league or latino league I have to say !!!!!! Disgusting !!!!!!
Colour of our skin or country doesn’t separate us. Only football ability and club alliance does. Stop bringing nationalism into this. Go to a EDL rally for that u bastard
It is impossible that it could happen in March 74. Because the game at Highbury was played in November. 2-0 for Liverpool. Emlyn Hughes and John Toshack scored Liverpool goals
Are you absolutely certain this was the 1st of February 1975? I was at this game and it was my first ever football match and I remember both goals like it was last week but I always thought it was early March 1974?
Always thought Rimmer was an outstanding keeper for Arsenal and Aston villa deserved a lot more england caps
Beat the hell out of the Arsenal v Brighton game played tonight. Thanks for the upload.

paolo hewitt You’re right, I’ve been in denial for 45 years. Now piss off.

arsenal regularly had 40.50.000 at home games during that period

great time for English football
For such a great keeper, that was a terrible effort by Ray Clemence for the first goal.

Alan Ball was the playmaker n catalyst for the Gunners’ 3 successive victories over Liverpool at Anfield from 1973 to 1975.
I've never seen a game with Jimmy Rimmer that wasn't played in muddy conditions.
He was substituted very early during the 1982 European Cup Final due to a non-muddy pitch.
@@cerneuffington2656 Disgraceful the way he bottled it. He couldn't deliver rain on the big occasion.

Alan Ball put Liam.up.in his house for a while after Liam got homesick and nearly returned home to Dublin , 2 truly great footballers
Did any grass make it onto the pitch.

why don't you start a ''race war' if you feel so 'disgusted'
ok and whats your point

I'd rather say boring plastic league
great old footage
Mancini looks like a 60+ grandad in this video. Players looked really old back then.
But Malaysia team beat Arsenal 2-0 at Merdeka Stadium Kuala Lumpur this year 1975
Loved Ball and didn't understand why Arsenal fans didn't even got a piggyback at Orient about 72 I think of him

Im Utd but this is wonderfull. Terraces, No forigeners or women! Ugly players, great stuff.
mcbrando What's bad about foreigners, I don't get it.
@@olayinkaamara385 probably a racist
Would you settle for ugly foreigners?
unlucky bin dippers 👍🤣
i want to build a sandcastle on that pitch.
Rubbish.

It is 1975. Phil Neal Joined Liverpool in October 1975.
I meant 1974
Proper old skool footie
@woody Vallallellalunga and quality kits
Absolutely I'm Arsenal fan. Both kits are classic
