I used to fly with my dad when I was about eight years old in a 150 commuter, and then later when he bought a nice Bellanca. About 20 years ago, I was flying the Lear 35 and 55 aircraft, so this brings back a lot of great memories for me. All steam gauges, of course. I looked at the PC 12 one year down at sun and fun. Looks like a nice airplane.
Anyone complaining about Emma is a rotten human being, sharing aviation with your children is amazing. I'm not familiar with the avionics on the Pilatus but i know in my Cirrus at the push of a button i can isolate my self, so i instruct my passangers to speak freely, and i hit the button when i need to be alone.
@rdawgz866 thanks, I love sharing aviation with my kids when I get the chance and they love riding up front with me. We are making some great memories! The Honeywell avionics has an isolate function also, although I almost never use it.
Emma is a great co-pilot. Seeing the B-52 brought back my Air Force memories during the 80's. I grew up flying with my dad in a Beechcraft V-tail Bonanza. Greatest years of my life flying with him, then when I was 15 he bought a Bell 47J2A hellicopter. We took her to the 1977 Oshkosh fly-in. We flew with the Confederate Air Force in a B-24 bomber in formation with about 30 other WWII aircraft and met and talked with Pappy Boyington while in Oshkosh. Great times and your children will remember the times with you especially while flying. God Bless you all and see ya on the next one.
Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s in Norton Ks. around the Norton Municipal Airport, of which my parents managed and both flew out of, I can relate to flying , farming and swimming in the creek. I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, thanks for bringing us along! Awesome family! Its been many years since Ive been thru Kansas. Much rather fly than drive!!! 17 hours reduced to only 3 is amazing!!!
Amazing plane and great flying. America is THE place to be for this kind of GA flying. Hope I can visit your country one day, shout out from the Philippines!
First time viewer and that video was awesome! Loved the split screen at times! And the farm scene took me back to dads uncles farm in ND learning to ride motorcycles! What a blessing to have the opportunity you have with the plane and family, enjoy this time they grow really fast and every stage is wonderful:) Blessings
Amazing and beautiful video. The views above the clouds are breathtaking. So neat to see quality time with the family. The sweet little voice of your copilot is so cute.
YES ! My son has been trying to decide which plane would be right for his business and Family. I sent him this video. In October he and I are going to the factory in Stans. To finalize his order. He's very interested in their product. I've been pushing him in this direction for about a year, this video convinced him. ❤ Thanks for posting ❤.
Unrelated to flight of any type, but I deal with the Amish produce auctions out by Goshen, and always make it a point to stop in town when I'm done. Such a charming town. Great video. Love the PC-12.
"Potholes in the sky" Lol! I've flown a lot of thermals and have never thought of them as potholes. Now that term will never leave my mind while flying. :)
Thanks again for the ride along! You are blessed with a beautiful family. Maybe it’s because I’ve raised 4 kids but I enjoyed Emma’s comments. My kids always enjoyed the wonders of flight too. 😊
I learnt in a Cessna 152 and 172. I’d love to take it further but opportunities and money won’t allow but I can dream and watch this. this is my dream aircraft.
You have been blessed to be able to do this with your family. They are the ones who I am concerned about. Please have somebody on board who can at least land the plane, just in case.
Convenient to fly but much more expensive than driving. Cute daughter but I don't know if I would have chose her to sit in the right seat knowing kids curiosity and being unaware when to be quiet. Nice aircraft. I still like the TBM 960 the best.
@@GrantBaker also my dad flight instructs out of EKM, and when he was teaching me how to fly, we’d fly over to Goshen all the time to do pattern work. Really interesting to see it on your videos!
Perfect family flight for a PC-12! I never flew the NG, but flew 15 different serial numbers of the series 9 and 10. Great airplane for the Corporate and EMS in the Lower 48 States of the USA that I landed in. If you respect the plane and its limitations it will serve all of your needs. Hope to see more.
Very good on your dash and views😊 as I’m going from your start to today videos your videos are great and improving. It’s showing good results. Audio and information is also coming in great. 👍 Happy thanksgiving 🦃 and hope your family time was special 😎
I did my night cross country for my PPL out to Pratt. It was one of the two airports I stopped at on that flight. Its quite a smell in a slow, hot 172 with the cattle pins there haha. Always fun to see when people fly through areas of KS I frequented all across the last year while getting my license. Great video as always Grant
I see your daughter on her iPad or something - don't know if you saw the helo crash caused by an iPad - I would consider either a harness to prevent the device from going into the footwell or just completely not allowing it - Just my 2 cents...
Yep I don’t let them have it up there during takeoff/landing for that reason. Edit: I should say I usually don’t let them. I didn’t have her put it away for this takeoff.
Great vid! I live just south of Wichita (Wellington) so was cool seeing some of the other places I've been, like Pratt and Dodge City. PC-12 is my all-time fav turbine single so am really enjoying your vids, just found the channel. Keep the blue side up!
Hi Grant, Nice family trip. You are so right as to what an aircraft can give you, TIME. Great stats for the flight. I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing your flights.
i love aviation ,,i build models ,and Pilatus makes some cool planes ,,i built a porter once but i crashed it aft6er about half dozen flights ,i still watch videos of bush pilots in other countries fly into some hairy little strips ,,
Amazing amazing flight as always Grant!! I actually have gotten some stick time in the PC-12 and it definitely opened up my eyes in the power difference and control compared to a little C-172. Taxiing for sure is a chore having to real step into the rudder pedals to make it turn!! Keep up the great work good sir!
@GrantBaker As far as turboprop aircraft go it's definitely my favorite one. Myself and a few coworkers joke around calling it the duck-billed plane because of the name Pilatus. 😄. But I absolutely love how smooth she flies and just how easy she is to control.
Grant "Sterile cockpit Emma, don't tell me about windmills or lakes...." Also Grant - "think I've got XXXXX lake in sight". As a fellow Dad, that was awesome and made me laugh.
Wow that was cool 😎 It felt like I was there onboard with you. Wish I had a pilot license to fly my family around the globe. Anyways, Enjoy your trip & have safe flying 🛫✈️😊
@tannerb55 almost exclusively. I fly it under part 91 for a company, and we do a small amount of dry leasing where the lessee hires their own pilot. We don’t do any charter.
Another great flight Grant. Thanks for taking us along The B52 was a great encounter, what's the coolest Aircraft you've came across in the air. Merry Christmas 🎁
Thanks Lorne! I think making the poor choice to fly through an active MOA as a student pilot on my first xc and seeing a couple B2s has to take first place. More recently though, I had a Cavok Air AN-12B fly right under me. I caught the AN-12 on video. Maybe I’ll post it here as a short sometime.
@@GrantBaker yes that would be a good one to show us. I stay not far from Prestwick Airport in Scotland and we get An-12’s in quit often. The noise they make is cool. So distinctive. The B2’s would be cool to see 🤙

It’s a fantastic airplane! I hope my kids look back on these flights as fondly as you look back on flights with your dad!🙂
Emma is the most adorable little girl EVER! Loved the timelapse with the audio overlay.

I saw that LARGE tail on the aircraft at 12:45 thought might be a B-52. Thanks for confirmation.
Great copilot. She knew what was going even though her feet didn't reach the pedals
Owning and flying a Pilatus is such a dream for me! Awesome video!

Giving the pilot a check ride on thermals love it!!❤😊
Emma is the best 1st officer; the key to this fun flight
Such a beautiful family! First video I've ever seen of yours. Enjoyed the rural fun videos at the end, especially. God bless you!
Another great job. Looks like you guys all had some nice fun this summer on the river. Keep up the great work. -Jason
Thanks Jason! Playing in the creek was the highlight of the trip for the kids!

I absolutely am!
Grant, as a new subscriber, I thoroughly enjoyed your narrative and especially your co-pilot, Emma. I hope you all had as much fun as it appeared. 😃
Welcome to the channel! We had a great time. 😁
"Potholes in the sky" 😄.....as a retired Air Traffic Controller, I couldn't have described it better #GreatJobDad 👍
Very nice, Grant. You are one of the best pilots I have watched. Excellent aviation skills. From an Ex-ATC.
It's fun hearing all the familiar voices at SBN Tracon and Chicago ARTCC.

Yeah she doesn’t like to turn very tight without using brakes and power. Rudder only turns the nose 12°, but with brakes it’s steerable to 60°!

great choice to fly a pc-12 - swiss quality!
Totally agree!
Very nice! Thank you!
Looking very nice. Thank you for sharing.😊
I’ve been told by a few PC12 drivers that the A/C is pretty weak, but that was fixed with the NGX version. Your thoughts?
I haven’t been in an NGX but I’ve also heard that it was improved.
Hey Grant, how many hours you do you have? you fly Very Well, must be an Airline Pilot Great Job
I’m currently a little over 4,000hrs. I’m a corporate pilot flying this PC12.

great job thanks and good luck 73
