I know I’m about 4 years late to the party, but I’ve been binge watching these hotline videos. This one gave me the most anxiety. Cooper Ray flows through the streets like a soothing river whereas this guy is more like a flash flood unleashed in the city. Pretty awesome to watch.
Great filming and riding as always, but shouting at pedestrians to get out of the way is over the top in my book, I think you can go as hardcore as you can as long as you don't get in other's way, which you obviously did in this case
for me its sometimes harder do predict the movement of people if they notice me because the start being erratic. sweep by like a superfast ghost but ey sometimes you gotta do what you have to do^^
Andreas, You are 100% right. It's OK to bypass traffic jams and all, but riding so close to pedestrians and even shouting at them is dangerous and jerky.
@@TerryB Why would you disagree with that? No matter your stance on running red lights, other people are never responsible for clearing your way in this case

This run down 5th avenue is actually much safer and more fun at speed. These guys are doing about 20mph, and when you're going that slow you mistime the lights. Get yourself up to 26 or 28mph and most of those issues go away- it's one green light after another. That section south of 42nd street it's super easy to get in front of traffic and rocket through it at 34-38, and you'll need to because the light at 23rd street isn't sequenced. Push hard to make it and hope that traffic doesn't slow you down at 34th street- everyone and their sister wants to turn at 34th street- and hope pedestrians don't step out in front of you along madison sq park. But if you push through that section at 38-40mph and you make 23rd street it's smooth sailing from there to Washington Sq park.
Are New Yorks red lights more of a "Suggestion" then a law? Here in ol cal-i-for-ni-a this dude just racked up $200,000 in tickets. Dope vid dude, I dig your vibe.
Rad, I know your work and follow your videos. In my experience NYPD is a bit more relaxed than police other places, especially if you’re flowing with traffic and not causing a scene. Although I’m from California myself and when I first moved to Brooklyn I got two cycling tickets in the same week. I guess it I’ve already paid my NYC cycling taxes.
You were not "flowing in traffic" at any given point tho... I would call that reckless driving (i don't even know if calling it driving) at those speeds, you run into a pedestrian and you and the pedestrian are fucked.
I watch these videos and just count the number of times I would die. And yet, my 30 year dream of riding my fixie down 5th Avenue lives strong... but maybe at midnight. Unreal talent. The best of cycling, and better to watch than Paris Roubaix.
nightfrailer do it. I dreamed about the sf hills for over two years of riding easy bay. Finally put my biggest gear ratio on and sent it. I clocked in a decent down fell street at 50 miles an hour skiding. It's on my strava to prove it
Krussia is a beast yes, but you certainly cannot ride that way in most cities without running afoul of the law. Ride like that in Australia and you will get pulled. He is super fast but putting pedestrians at risk?
Fuckin' Krushed It! Another legendary Hotline Terry! As others have said, this one got my heart pounding again. So many close calls! I almost felt bad for the pedestrians at some of the crossings you two were absolutely tearing through, almost. As always: thank you, keep 'um coming!
Visceral is one word for it, the changing patterns of breath when anticipating an intersection, or accelerating to squeeze into the gap. Every road cyclist knows these sensations, awesome work!

Welcome to NEW YORK where bicycles are faster than cars
😎😎😎
Come to London - average traffic speed is about 8.5 mph, so if you can make 10 you’ll be the fastest thing moving
Its easy with 3 to 5 lines one direction ...
Well in OLD AMSTERDAM they've already figured it out and adapted.
