CATCHAHAWG teaches you how to catch more Crappie, Catfish, and Bass. I have been a full time Lake Fork Guide since February 1996 and I want to share with you my fish catching secrets that I have accumulated after all these years on the lake. Lake Fork is known all over the world for it’s trophy bass fishing. However, Lake Fork is full of giant crappie, blue catfish and flathead catfish. On this channel we are going to teach you the techniques that I as a Lake Fork Guide use to catch these species. Please hit the SUBSCRIBE button and don’t forget to hit the bell so you don’t miss out on any upcoming videos. Thank you for your support.
Sharing fishing tips to help you catch more fish each time you get out on the lake.

Hey y’all have you struggled to catch them the past few days where you fish?
Last weekend, Tawakoni and Fork, nothing up shallow.
Been tough all season here in central Florida at my hole
We've started to do better but it's been weird this year
@@FourDRanch isn’t that crazy 🤦♂️
@@2005Pilot dang it! It’s got to get better soon. Thanks for the comment 👍
I know you have live scope. I've seen you use it many times. I really appreciate you doing a crappie fishing video that didn't involve live scope. It's so refreshing. It gets boring, as a viewer, watching EVERYONE but Richard Gene, and now you, looking at dots on a screen to catch their crappie.
Hey Melvin thanks for the comment. Yeah I’ve got several vids out without that dang livescope. It’s a great tool but it can also make a guy crazy lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yup. Takes the sport out of it.
Yeah it will make you crazy if you don’t have it
I would Love for ALL YOU LIVESCOPE HATERZ TO POST YOUR NONE ELECTRONIC BOAT TRIP VIDEOS SHOWING YOUR LIMITS. I MEAN ZERO ELECTRONICS. GTHOH with the stupidity. Show us how to fish..😤🤔
This spring has been very odd. We are still not having warm nights which I think is keeping them off the banks. Hopefully we will get some warm stable weather to push them in. I fish Tawakoni and the fishing has been very sporadic so far.
Yep these nights in the 40’s aren’t helping anything. I’m going deep today and saying the heck with those shallow fish lol
That is how it goes sometimes. Thanks for posting.
Yeah luckily I found them the next day out deep. 👍
Try downsizing to a 1/16 ounce and if using a weed guard trim a few off to make it easier for the crappie to get a hold of it.
Well the thing is we have been using minnows on my trips and they still don’t want them lol but I’ll try that and see what happens 👍
These 70f sunny days are keeping them shallow I love it 🤩I'm starting to get alot of channel catfish shallow on jigs too.
I was busting those catfish shallow before this last front. Now I can’t even get a turtle to bite lol
Enjoyed it man one of these days im gonna make it out to Texas fish some of yalls lakes I got a few in mind 😉 we got some good ones in bama to 👍
Come on over when you can. All the lakes in East Texas are full of big ole crappie 👍
Hey Gary great video. I went last Saturday and we only caught 8 crappie but they were scattered all over the place. Still haven't found that honey hole yet. Lake Jordan where I mostly fish is a deep lake and I'm still trying to figure those rascals out.
Hey Glenn it’s been a strange spring over this way for sure. I busted them for about 10 days straight and then it changed . Hopefully you’ll get on those fish soon over your way 👍
Fished 2 different lakes last Easter Sunday & Monday Glenn. Me & a buddy caught over 120 Crappie. ALL CAUGHT 30-12 FEET OF WATER... Fish are STAGGING.. The MALE have run up shallow to build beds.✌️
This video was very helpful! I've been bank fishing a 4 acre pond and was absolutely slaying them about 6 weeks ago in maybe 6 feet or so of water when the daytime temps were in the 40's. Now it's been 60-70F and I can't seem to catch 'em near the bank. Lots of bass and bluegill but no crappie...
Those crappies get in and get out fast. And cold fronts can really turn them off quickly. Ive abandoned the shallow water bite with my customers. It’s way easier for me to get them limits in the deeper water where they aren’t affected as much as the shallow fish when the weather changes. Thank you for commenting I really appreciate it 👍
@@CATCHAHAWG And thank you for the insight! Love the channel and keep up the great work
@@byrde4329 thank you very much. I really appreciate that 👍
Going to be watching going forward!
Thanks a bunch. It’s been hard to get out in my own but hopefully I will again soon.
Good video. really enjoyed it
Thank you very much. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 👍
I wasn’t able to get crappie to bite my last trip either. Went for bass, and got skunked! It’s warming up, so I hope it gets a little better soon!
Man I have to think that east wind after that front must have changed the barometric pressure or something. I’ve had to fish deep lately to really do any good.
Everytime the crappie bite gets going good something (weather water temp water conditions) messes up their rotation. A good majority of the crappie here still are full of eggs. I’m in east Texas.
Mississippi coast is exactly the same, this weather is killing me
You’re exactly right. I moved out deep the next day and have been catching prespawners ever since. It’s been a crazy spring. Thank you for the comment 👍
Good stuff.
Thank you Willard I appreciate you watching 👍
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching I really do appreciate it 👍
When this video started, I was 100% certain that Matthew McConaughey was talking to me about shallow water crappie.
Hey Bryan thank you for your comment lol I’ve been told that many times throughout my life. Hey actually grew up about 46 miles down the road from me lol
@@CATCHAHAWG that’s awesome I figured there’s no way you hadn’t heard that before but the resemblance in your voice and accent is uncanny lol I had to do a double take. Nice video 👍🏼
@@BryanPaulCannon lol 👍thanks again. I hope to be able to get out again soon.
What is the Jughead plastic combo your using?
Hey Scott thanks for the comment. The jig head is a homemade one that some guys from Arkansas gave me and that plastic body is made by bonehead. 👍

I’m not sure what you said but I appreciate your comment 👍
No livescope great
Hey Darlene, nope not this time. Lol I thank you for the comment 👍
Glad I did not see a livescope
Hey Noah thanks for commenting. Yeah those are great but I still like getting that thump in shallow water or watching that cork go down.
12 lbs is way to big.
Lol a lot of people think that but it’s all I use and I don’t have to worry about a big catfish breaking me off. Thanks a bunch for the comment 👍
