the "we don't talk about Bruno" part felt so relatable. I feel that's exactly how almost every latin household "keep family secrets". Like, we don't talk about this yet we give you pieces of information so you can figurate out whats going on

Yeah isnt too skinny and isnt obese as some artists seem to promote, making their characters look like they had eaten the lead haha, just perfect IMO.

I’m not shaming anyone for any body type they have, I just wanted to point out the changes in character Disney has undergone throughout the years, if you compare women in the 2000s-2010s films the women all have the same, literally no ribs but big hips look, and it’s just nice to see something realistic, not that skinny people don’t exist, but seeing medium size representation is great!
In the beginning, there was Luca's "Silencio Bruno". Now Encanto screams "We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no!"

I just love the diversity of the characters in this movie. In terms of skin colour, hair, body type, just general looks.
Same I hate when movies about Latin culture have one skin color and hair texture because Latin/Hispanic culture is very diverse

As a Colombian, I approve of this movie. Also, I just saw It just yesterday and oh man, what a deep movie it is! it has a very sophisticated narrative, It has several layers of human complexity. Most of all I applaud that includes one universal element but particularly critical for all Colombians: the acknowledge of the past and present phenomenon of the forced displacement of entire towns and communities. In Colombia, this, unfortunately, has happened since the very beginning, since the encounter with the Spaniards, during the independence wars, during the "violence" in the first half of the 20th century and lastly, during the right-wing and fascist governments of the 21st century. Oh and I almost forgot... REGGAETON IS NOT OURS, ITS NOT OUR FAULT...

The sassyness in the motions throughout the song from the aunt is perfect.
It really works with her character design.
In my opinion the bad reviews for this movie are unjustified. I mean, the movie is very good, those who say that "Disney from before" was better forgot that they have grown up and, well, they have a strong attachment to their childhood movies, and then these come along and judge them more rigidly because they are older, we are not surprised or so much enjoyed the fantasy now as adults/teenagers that as children. My point is that current films are not bad, only that the audience is children and the elderly who see them won't enjoy it that much. However, this is a great movie, let's see it through children's eyes, not through the eyes of a critic.

As someone with Colombian descent, I find it cool that I genuinely look like Mirabel. I always felt a bit insecure cuz I had a big nose, bushy eyebrows, thick lips and a collection of glasses but this was comforting. Appreciate Disney doing this.

I think she was upset because she was happy, and that's why there were no clouds in the sky. But when Bruno said it looked like rain, it made her worry about her wedding being ruined by the weather which caused it

I read somewhere that he didn't literally mean rain, but moreso that Pepa was nervous and sweaty (something he isnt afraid to mention, if you look at the scene when he amd Mirabel are falling and catching each other). And thr thought is it stressed her out to the point of it literally raining because she was already nervous and didn't get his joke.

My cousin had this huge theory about Mirabel.
He said that Mirabel did get a gift, she's got a kind of bond with Casita, Mirabel is the only Madrigal to whom Casita helps immediately, and she restores Casita just like her abuela. In conclusion that abuela thought she didn't get a gift because abuela herself gives Mirabel her gift, abuela lost her gift and that's why Mirabel didn't get her own door,but got a gift.
Imagine if Mirabel’s gift is actually seeing people’s pasts or inner thoughts and she just thinks it’s normal lol
Ok I have a theory so basically when mirabel was talking about her aunt how she controls the weather and how her emotions u know can cause the weather to become down yeah well the aunt immediately blamed her ruined wedding day on Bruno because if u think about it there was a hurricane but aunt peppa is the only one who can control the weather with her emotions right and Bruno didn’t do anything wrong cause all he did was say it looks like rain and I bet u he was not even grinning he was probably smiling because he’s proud of his sister 😒MAN THE DISRESPECT HE DONT DESERVE TO BE TREATED THAT WAY BRO

ENCANTO WAS AMAZING!!! Y'ALL GOTTA SEE IT.
The film is a colorful and joyful breeze in such a gloomy time. But as much as I expect this film, I also wonder how Encanto will be dubbed in Finnish or not dubbed at all? And should voice actors speak in their own voice or with a Latin accent, or is the Latin accent too racist? And is translating foreign language stories into another language a prohibited cultural appropriation? These are big questions these days.
Bruno is actually a victim of abuse of abuela I don't like abuela character bruno ran away so they don't talk about bruno because of grandma being so rude just because she wants everything to be perfect next in the list was mirabel but she stood up from big bully abuela.

I was watching this, and an Encanto add came on, and I watched it thinking it was part of the video XD
This related to my family. My big sis, a brave strong soldier, my big brother, a Engineer, my dad a teacher, my grandma a Graduater of high graded schools, and my grandpa (we dont talk about grandpa because there is a large secret behind him) my mom is a chef, and me, a graduater from AMA in the age of 11, won 13 Spelling bees and was top on class for 6 years, family of Education and employment.

I love Thai movie already. The music is amazing, I LOvE the diversity of the characters the skin tones and the character traits. Like even though they have powers you can clearly see the difference of the characters own personas. Disney did good with this one.
