  • Welcome back to the first episode in our brand new Vanlife Europe series! This week sees us trying to get ready for our biggest trip yet, we’ve got so much to do and too little time to do it.
    With a job list the length of our arms to get through in just three weeks to get our van, Casi, ready for our next big adventure, we’re really up against it.
    Plus we encounter some massive problems which could mean our trip is over before it even starts.
    Join us as we race against time in a mad dash to get back on the road and see how we prepare for a big trip in our self converted campervan.

    We had the same battery problem and the AA came and put a new battery in, I was impressed with the service.

    All that maintenance will surely pay dividends! Happy trails, dear ones. As you mentioned Turkey, that will clearly be part of the non-Schengen tripping... and that suggests the route will likely incorporate some of the the Balkan states, perhaps Greece... Flare ups in Kosovo, and Gaza as well as the ongoing attrition in Ukraine might have some effect on decision making as you go? Please be safe and most of all, enjoy! Huggies, YAM xx

      We didn’t mean to leave that in 😂😂😂 We spoilered our own question! But we’ll go in to a bit more detail on the plan next week, as you guessed it’s based around Schengen timings and stuff. We’re definitely planning to steer clear of any trouble, we’re very flexible on the route so will change if necessary. Hope you’re well ❤️

    A had same issue way fuel filter ended up making on in my lathe witch screws open to clean ect. Good to see use are back doing your thing a have ended up keeping my sprinter love the old girl. Low loader build be great space wise but limit were you can go.

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  9 місяців тому

      Seems to be a common issue. We don’t have the skills to make our own though! That’s a huge consideration, we struggle enough to park in the sprinter sometimes, anything bigger would definitely be harder. We thought you’d actually sold it though. But was it the truck you sold? Also you’d have had to get the new licence as well no?

      @@TheWholeWorldorNothing A like to learn difrent skills am a mechanic rather repair stuff than replace. Lathe has been handy for making little things. The low loader a had 2 days and was offered profit on it so sold it 😂 my build isn’t aswell designed and built like yours it was built to have a sofa bed ect decent garage out door stuff and my crazy old tyme bully X staffy witch would have destroyed anything fancey 😂 A love my sprinter it works for me. Takes bit of abuse going to the most randon places. Do have the dream of moving to europe having a more simple life than the scottish weather a feel like am always preparing for winter mentally. Summers are so short april may june great once it hits july a feel as if the days start too get shorter. Ats what a struggle with!

    Greece? Escape Brexit to Turkey for three months then travelling back via Eastern Europe maybe?
    Wherever it is have a brilliant time and we’ll be following…just as we prepare to head off across the Channel at the end of the month ourselves! Safe travels from Vandalou22

    I had the same problem with those hard plastic fuel filters, one failure dropped about 3l of diesel in the van. I opted for some automotive filters from Euro Car Parts that were about £1 each. The plastic is more like nylon so much better than hard plastic. No leaks since. Hope you have a great time away, looking forward to updates. Turkey ;)

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  9 місяців тому

      They’re terrible aren’t they! So brittle and flimsy. The ones you’ve opted for sound good, and a lot cheaper than the metal one we got. But we’re hoping it will last a bit longer at least. Not saying anything about Turkey 😅 Also really like your new graphics, watched that vid last night and they look sweet 👌

    • @AMGMANIAC
      @AMGMANIAC 9 місяців тому

      @@TheWholeWorldorNothing Yep, my last leak made me change things up as they're just too brittle whereas the one I have now has plenty of flex so better for a moving vehicle. I think you'll find Sarah mentioned it in the video 10m5s lol. Thanks, I'll add to the graphics at some point but it has definitely lifted it. I'm still envious of your leather steering wheel so that'll get done in the future.

      @@AMGMANIAC yeah definitely a good idea, we’ll see how this goes and if we have any problems we’ll be messaging for the details of your ones 😅 Pleather steering wheel cover was less than a tenner from Halfords. Preferable to specks of foam all over our hands every time we move👍

    Great video again guys, hope all goes well on your trip, looking forward t seeing them all. IN this video with the issue you had with your battery you showed quickly the battery charger but I was just wondering if you can let me (& I guess others) what is the unit you have for your battery. Many thanks and have a safe and good trip.
