Mermaid shape is literally the shape a mermaid has of her tail, tight on the tights and loose and wide from the calf to the heels. A shape goes straight from your waist all the way down in a line, the skirt is literally an A if you simplify it (sorry for the bad English, I’m Mexican)

She added 3” at the back because, she want a cut together tail at the back. Note, you can add more than 3” cos it’s not constant. It all depends on you. Thanks .
