In some great movies there a point where you suddenly realize: holy shit this is actually a really good movie, and you are just blown away awestruck. This was that part.
okay but i absolutely love stephanie hsu’s expression as she looks into the bagel with evelyn. it isn’t victorious, triumphant, eager - what you would expect from her after she has spent most of the movie trying to convince evelyn to succumb to nihilism. it’s pained, it’s disappointed, as she later states that she wanted evelyn to see something that she didnt, to save her and do something new. idk it’s such a subtle thing about this scene where so much is going on but the brief instances where you see her somewhat wince or blink are just so moving??
Well, think about it: have you ever known anyone to succumb to existential despair, then recover and live a healthy life _without help from their friends?_
If you pause and use the "," and "." keys you can click through frame by frame and see all the whacky alternate Evelyns.
Thanks
I love that one of them at around 1:45 is a Zoom meeting

For some reason, the moment where singing Evelyn screams in such a horrifying, shrill way gave me chills.
What a great representation of a mental breakdown after having an existential crisis

1:22 I ONLY JUST NOTICED THE URN IS SCREAMING TOO
This is the most meaningful, depressive, enlightening, beautiful, chaotic, multi-layered, heartbreaking and artistic film-making ever
she should have won both best acting categories.
no question.
1:17 Watching this part in the cinema was the most bonkers experience I ever had watching a movie
I was confused for a second. Then mindblown.
It’s a really deep movie that is self aware of its silliness
The editing is this movie is truly amazing. I hope the editors wins a Oscar
It just won 7 Oscars, including Best Editing!
“Your wish has been granted”
I'm a multiversal traveller and in every universe they win the Oscar to Best editing
This is the reason why it won best picture 1:20 to 2:00, and why Michelle yeoh won best actress
Does anyone has ever frame of Evelyn’s variants?
I tot she will somehow comeback single handed. Didnt expect waymond helps her.
