Thank you sooo much for this upload!!! The sound, the decks, ... Whoow!, you time-travell'd me back in the days where Skateboarding ruled my whole life. Grts to all true nice (old)-school sk8'ers outta there!!!.
born in 1990 ive always said the 80's were and still are and always be my favorite. best attitude ever, best styles and best tricks. most everything looks the same in this modern day,.
I'm almost sure I've watched Cristian Hosoi winning a comp against T.Hawk on a vertical ride on a memorable hit when he got the world record... I was too young and by that time I was more up to bikes tho. Great stuff man! Thanks for the video.
Wow! One Mike Conroy's still alive here, I still have my Mike Conroy's "Fortune Teller" in pink! I rescued it from the oblivion in a garage just a few days ago... for my daughter! :) New rubber junctions for the trucks (dead bolts) and bearings (NMB), wheels are Sonic with rockets painted. When I buy it I remember was doubting between this and the Jim Thiebaud deck :)
Man after seeing this video I can't believe how many of these decks I owned. There was at least 6 that I owned and I more that friends had. Back when skateboards had interesting shapes.
i had a santa cruz deck back in the day,it was pink and it had a fishtail shape to the back. got any ideas were i could find some pictures, bring back some memorys.
YOU forgot one Roskop board...the one with a "target" eye (with circles: white red and black). This board was my last one (before a quite skating) and it was before 1992 .
nice good to see so many sick bords all of which i want! were Hosoi's boards through santa cruz I thought he set up his own company or was this before then...
Nice video, you missed so many but I understand that it must be hard to get quality pics of every single board. As an example, you missed at least 2 of Knox's decks, the "Cop Beater" and the fist with the American flag in the background which was one of his most well-known decks. Not to mention all the Everslicks from '90-'92 of every rider on the team, both SMA and SCS.
Your memory, huh? You have boards with the signatures right in front of your face yet you can't manage to spell Steve Olson and Micke Alba, correctly. You should at least have a 5 Ply in there if you want to talk about history. Santa Cruz made slalom boards, too. If you consider SMA Santa Cruz then Hosoi Sktbrds and Red Cross were Santa Cruz.
I realize the Steve Olsen checkerboard designs were available in different variations...you display the natural wood version...but I was curious why you wouldn't have shown the two versions the white on black and the black on white versions which were the two most popular boards with the Olsen signature. Consequently, it's odd that none of the Olsen boards are available today in the retro offerings...did he pull the use of his name??
My 1st pro model was the 87’ Jeff Kendall “World Ends” in white. 2nd was the red Rob Roskopp lll in video. Years go by......Jan 6th 2020 Tom Knox “FirePit” in grape ordered in route to my house!#SpeedFreaks#StreetsonFire#SantaCruzsinceday1#jimbophillips
Does anyone know of this Santa Cruz modern deck that has green glitter and the flaming dot in the middle? I used to have it in the late 90's, it is the most beautiful deck i've seen. any clue?????
i had a theibod airplane. couldnt ride it. traded it to a friend and his lemur pop got even higher. somehow his wore down McGill gave me a little boost as well. a win win deal
FUCK! i always wanted that Jeff Kendall "Pumpkinhead" & Corey O'Brian "Grimreaper". I never got either..... :*(...... Till i stole an El Gato back in '90! .....and so it began.......
that green and black duane peters sucked i had the pumpkin kendall along with the atomic man the first natas and the beat up kitty that looked like bill the cat loved that board
This is a bullshit history. You're not showing the boards from the beginning onwards and how they changed and you can't even spell Steve Olson and Micke Alba's names correctly despite having their signature boards to look at.
Thank you sooo much for this upload!!!
