Do WCW Nitro from Jan 1999, the Fingerpoke of Doom Episode. (Also the same episode where Tony Schiavone gave away Mankind’s Raw title win causing 600k viewers to switch channels).
I still think Simon reviewing some old ECW would be pretty entertaining.. Lets try Barely Legal 97 this week Taz vs Sabu RVD vs Lance Storm Terry Funk vs Sandman vs Stevie Richards for a title match against Raven
The main event is a prime example of Triple H's failed ego booking, literally everyone knew that Taker vs HBK should've closed the show but HHH booked himself to win in the main event
As someone who was there in Houston and saw this live, HBK vs. Taker is is not only 5 star, I doubt 10 better matches ever could be found. It had everything you could ask for, and delivered on it all. The energy in the arena was undeniable.
Next should be "Summerslam 2002"...One of the best wwe ppv.The in ring return of shawn michaels after 4 years,Brock becoming champion by defeating The Rock,Angle vs mysterio,Flair vs jericho, edge vs eddie, rvd vs benoit...The ppv was full of awesome matches
@@sagnikmustafi2374 Agreed. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker was the GREATEST WRESTLING MATCH EVER! Not the one that WWE called the "greatest wrestling match ever" which was just a good wrestling match.
I always look forward to ups & downs videos. Even if the pay-per-view is a disappointment, Simon always brings a level of entertainment to this approach that just works so well for me. At this point, I watch just about anything that he makes. I don't have to worry about whether it will be worth my time or not.
Was the only Wrestlemania Ive attended. Even the nosebleeds, the atmosphere was on fire. Alot of us gave all our energy to the Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker match. It was unreal
Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels is a Five-star match. Next week, please, please Let's Do Judgment Day 2000 - Rock vs HHH (Iron Man Match) - Shawn Michael on Referee duties and The Biker Undertaker makes debut!! COME ON PEOPLE, VOTE FOR JUDGMENT DAY 2000!!!
Raw is War 04 January 1999 the show where Mick Foley won his first World Championship. It wasn't the highest rated show because Nitro was still good at the time but it was one of the most memorable.
So many good matches in this PPV Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy Extreme Rules That 21 sec Joker Mysterio vs JBL was funny and great! HBK vs The Undertaker (Probably the Best Match ever!) The Triple Threat with Cena vs Edge vs Big Show (That AA picking both of then up was insane) Jericho being an absolute heel of heels. And the Kid Rock concert was pretty freaking cool IMO. And let's no forget the MITB match! (Where it should always be... at WM)
Honestly, the Wrestlemania HBK vs. Taker was every main NXT event from 2017-2019. Near falls, “shocked faces”, finisher spamming. With no real character or story reason for anything happening. In terms of how Meltzer grades matches it should be 5 stars. In my opinion, the match has good wrestling but it’s not this perfect match. The name value carried it more than the in-ring story.
I really just can't grasp the fact that a match that spams a dozen finishers is rated higher than this classic. It kills the suspense that maybe Wrestler A or Wrestler B is at risk of losing.
I traveled to Houston from NJ with a couple of friends who bought a Wrestlemania travel package with me to go see this one and while most of the card is forgettable, I'm so grateful that I was there live for Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels. It was the best match I've ever seen in person and my 2nd favorite WWE match of all time.
I dont remember what the ppv was but whenever I think about vintage wrestling the first that comes to mind is when Lex Luger bodyslams Yokozuna. Also, Simon, your the only reason I watch this channel tbh. Your the GOAT lmao.
Undertaker vs Michaels match is the 5 🌟 classic of classics. I still say it's the greatest wrestling match ever. Including the build, nothing can ever out do this. Heard Meltzer didn't give it 5 stars cause of the guy not catching the Undertaker as he drove over the top ropes. Which is trash complaint.
How about a review for AAA When World’s Collide, when Mexican wrestling tried breaking the United States market. Bloody good show as well, and basically led to several wrestlers (especially Eddy Guerrero, who was in one of the main events) being signed for ECW and later WCW
Undertaker v HBK is the greatest wrestling match ever if you view it in its own bubble. Meaning that this is the best match to show to a non-fan. Out of context from storylines, feuds etc you can watch this and still feel buzzed. There are probably greater matches out there when viewed in the context of the storyline they're involved in, but sometimes that hype can be lost if you watch the match cold with no background info. This didn't need a storyline to make it great, it's just two of the greatest ever putting on a damn clinic.
I wish there was a secret tradition in Wrestling where when you retire you pick your favorite newer wrestler and make them look really really good in a match, regardless of whoever wins. Someone who you would like to see become a beacon of the sport, who you think deserves it, someone who stands out to you because the passion you see in them reminds you of why you fell in love with it in the first place, or something along those lines. I think it could do the sport and the community some good.
For me Taker vs HHH at WM25 is the best modern wrestling match ever. This was two Icons at their absolute prime go at it. That to me is true wrestling, not just physicality and moves... I'm from Africa... I remember that Sunday like yesterday. Everyone in my neighborhood knew About this😂😂😂😂
Cena with 700pounds on his shoulders for the short amount of time was and still is so impressive, considering he’d be “gassed” from working the match to have them both on his shoulders is nothing short of incredible

Terry Funk vs Sandman vs Stevie Richards for a title match against Raven
Finally getting some votes. He needs to do any ECW PPV lol
Plecase say triple threat. Three-way sounds to interesting
Interpromossional 6 man tag as well
I have said for years that the best HBK vs Taker match was the Bad Blood fight which was overshadowed by Kane's debut.
Ahhh the hockey guy! Love ur videos, keep up the good work sir.
Shut up. No more World Wrasslin Entertainment

The last WWE show to air before Simon started Ups & Downs
Wrestlemania 32 I believe
Heroes of wrestling ...and this time it should win
Thanks for all of these retros mate. Really gotten me through some crappy days this year. Very much appreciated
WWE called what Kane did to Christian a choke slam only because they didn’t want to admit, at that point, that Christian would ever get a push.
😂😂😂
😂😂
Heroes of wrestling, the worst event of all time
You can't get away that easy Simon
so we try again!
Yes
I agree with you on that one!!
Heroes of wrestling. Cmon we need this one reviewed
Where was the UP for the MITB ladder match?
Yeah no kidding
Vanished
I was there! No joke, I was at Reliant Stadium for the event. That Taker vs. HBK match is one of the best ever. Period.

Double ups and downs for January 4th 1999 edition of nitro and raw, the finger poke of doom and Mick Foley wins the wwf title
Simon hated women's battle royale so much that he turned into Phillipin Marks 😂
Suggestion: The last WCW Monday Nitro ever (2001)
Since the next friday is on Christmas,Review the Raw where Alberto del rio hit Santa claus with his car.
He was mick Foley

Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels seemes like one long storyline fued that finally came to a close at wrestlemania 28.
Starrcade 1998 (end of Goldberg's streak). It was December 27th and my first PPV.
So let’s finish the Shawn Michaels wrestlemania trifecta with wrestlemania 26.
