Project head Gerhard Lepler calmed him down and gave him a tip: “Just keep your foot right down on the pedal.” However, legend has it that Senna never really warmed to racing ABS. It was a totally different story with Niki Lauda, though, who won the Formula 1 world title for the third time in 1984: When the vehicle concept for the opening race was presented to him and the installed ABS was explained, he declared the anti-lock braking system to be “the best invention since the invention of the wheel”.

Not in the wet, but I had a chance 20 years ago to drive a UOP Shadow Can-Am car at Sears Point Raceway and it's not as scary from the seat as it seems it should be from the specs. I think it's turn 10 there where you are heading at a wall at extreme speed that reminded me of something Colin Edwards said about racing at a wall ... "just don't crash there". To be clear I wasn't really "racing" a million dollar can-am car, I was just getting the car and the tires up to temp to confirm everything was working as it should before going to the Monterrey Historics where some "name" was going to be driving it. I think it's WAY easier to drive really powerful really light cars in reality than in the sim because of all the extra data you get. But in the water? I'm just going to stay in the garage :)
Fun fact: Helmut Marko? Yes, the Helmut Marko we know now from Red Bull in F1. Well that man, with this specific car, (Porsche 917K) in 1971 won the 24 hours of Le Mans alongside a Dutch driver by the name of Gijs Van Lennep. Yeah only those 2 in this car, 24h. Kinda crazy if you think about it.

You should do a stream where you try to complete the licenses with a game pad. My feeling is that, if they created them to be very difficult to get gold on a wheel, then it would be impossible (or just very time-consuming) on a pad. If that was the case, then a ton of people would just quit the game. I am glad though that the community has at least taken it upon themselves to set higher benchmarks for each other, if gold is too easy. Steve mentioned it would be nice to see world rankings, just to have something to shoot for, when your friends list isn't enough.
I’m convinced that this is being marketed solely at the wheel and cockpit crowd, at this point. I want to see someone gold everything on a DualShock, instead of rigs that cost as much as a small condo.

Pedro Rodriguez was leading and as he left the Druids hairpin, he gunned it just a little too much and spun the 917 through 360°, dropped a cog and carried on to win the race with his co-driver by over a lap!
That car is absolutely mental. I cant imagine those guys who drove it and manage to tame it. At some point they had 1100 hp and weight 800 kgs. Thats just sick
It's been really hard since the update to do any of the licenses/track exp on dirt as the update has put racing tires on the cars and you can't change them 🙄
The transformation from early crazy crashes through frustration, comic relief, swearing, and little victories yet not giving up to attaining silent confidence by the last glorious lap is one of the magical addictions of gaming. Thanks for sharing!
reminds me of that challenge in PGR4, snow nur in 1940s racers
Great race on the IMSA channel early pandemic upload of a classic race at lime rock park with all of these GT cars and man the raw visceral power looked scary and extreme
o henlo there!
There I am, with my little 2:24.642 (F.Marques)
to be fair, I had to use:
- the countersteer assist on weak AND the analog stick instead of the motion sensor (hidden pad assists).
and I did it at like midnight, was already dead tired.
so yea, props to ya Jimmy! there's a reason why I'm not driving a Praga and you are :D
I couldnt imagine how Jo Siffet and Pedro Rodriguez drove this car in the old SPA layout, kudos for they
If you ever crash the Praga unfortunately ( seen it from post 3 yesterday, how the car jumped over the kerb, it was heartbreaking), remember that you're great Jimmer :). You achieved what it is pretty much a mission impossible
Nothing like Grandpa Jimmer YEETING the 917K-Boi into this barrier...And that one...And that one....Oh, and of course that one.
Also...You MUST show us the proper HEELS and TOES methods... @_@
Much credit to editor-chan for being able to edit this with such a short turnaround. That's a lot of hours of raw footage to turn into 20 minutes.
I was so happy that I managed to do this test in like 2 attempts while also beating your initial time and now I just feel destroyed
Jimmy, your self-talk is priceless lol. Love your work, keep it up!
The record is 2:17 by Angel Inostroza btw
Loved this! When the beat drops and the PIP pops, you know Jimmy is about to hit his spots!
Now imagine how good was Pedro Rodriguez that he set the fastest time and average speed on the old spa circuit
Great job Jimmy! Wasn't expecting that ending.. the ball is in Steve's court now ;)
pog vid... the music during the first 3 mins was impeccable good job made my day
Thank you, thank you, thank you Jimmy, I thought it was just me, or that GT7 needed another update to fix another wrong tyre issue, but no it's just a 'mare of a licence test. I'd taken the GT disc out and was playing anything else. Now I see it's simply a massive, massive pain.
That last lap was tense. It felt like holding your breath for the whole time just looking at it. That was some brave and precise driving !!!
Winning the Touring Car Championship with the restrictions set to 600pp... The Suzuka race where the AI starts with almost 40 seconds ahead of you and you have 5 laps to catch him. Now that one was brutal...
I love it when you win Jimmy. Watching you celebrate and chirp is hilarious. Good on you.
I put in over 22 hours with a G29 to crack this. I never intend to go back to it. It's the stuff of nightmares.
Ahh Jimmy! Mate, massive congrats - did not see that ending coming haha! amazing work .
"the tests are easy" my guy, you are a professional race driver. Put yourself in the shoes of an actual gamer and these were HELL.
I noticed you have your TCS on 0, I had mine on 1 for the majority of all the tests, BUT FOR THIS HELL, I had it on 2. All license tests are now gold. :D
I just noticed you can see the drivers helmet reflected in the dials - incredible detail!
From the Praga site: "Praga Cup 2022 plans to race at Spa-Francorchamps for non-Championship European Round" .... uh oh..
When you're in a spin as many times as possible challenge and your opponent is Jimmy Broadbent at S-10
For real though, what an effort. Should have challenged HamSandwich as well and get a W12 Nurburgring challenge going around.
I'm really enjoying this video while im drinking my morning coffee. Thank you sir.
I love to do this kinda stuff with my friends on Forza Motorsport 7 since I don’t have a PC yet and I have an Xbox One they still hop on and we’ll compete in Rivals for the monthly’s or we each have one track we pick and class and we have to keep top spot on the track and class we chose. Rivals with them keeps the game fun for me, as well as the GT Endurance hopper.
Yeah, I got gold on all tests except for S-10, that's on bronze, playing on PS4 Pro with dualshock 4. It is definitely the hardest test yet for me
That’s the best Kevin Estre impression ever!!!!! Amazing!!
Atta boy jimmer. Love the content thank you for the endless hours of enjoyment.
The jump cuts when you go to say a naughty word... fu**ing hilarious jimmer
Wanna know something crazy, now its 2:24,5 to get the golden badge
15:41 "buttery biscuit base" had me dying 😂🤣😂 throwback
Seriously this challenge was hard as hell. I got so frustrated doing this. But somehow I managed to get a silver.
This test was the most tough
Well done! That was frikken awesome, final lap was tense!
Okay, now do it with the period-accurate gear-shifter. This flappy-paddle, auto-clutch sacrilege is an affront to Steve McQueen's memory. Besides that, very nice lap, and well done.
10:10
Certified " I think Ericsson has hit us " moment.
Didn’t stay top for long Jimmy 😂 brilliant job though. I’ll never get anywhere near this. It’s refreshing to see the back and forth between you guys on these licenses. Mucho bueno content 👍
My brother died a week ago and this video was the only thing that has made me smile so far. Thank you
One thing I've learned over the years of playing GT is that nothing will make you go absolutely mad like the GT license tests do.
Good one bro. Nice. Made that car look smooth as silk in that last lap apart from some minor moments, and that car is hard to make go "smooth"😎👍✌️🖖🤘🤙
This was great to watch Jimmer. Great video!
