Major kudos to Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood who drove this car to a victory at the 24 hours of lemans in 1970.
i’m not shitting on drivers nowadays but drivers back in that time weren’t human. i can’t understand how they did it.
@@abyss18 because they weren’t professional marketing influencers like they are now, it’s not about about who can drive it’s about who’s got the ability to promote the teams look for advertising, the more likeable the driver the more sales the sponsors will get.
How in the father fook eng fook did they drove this for 24 hours?
To be fair Le Mans during the 60s and early 70s was majority straights
@@semiedgv Then again they also drove other tracks that weren’t Le Mans. Brands Hatch, Spa, Monza, and the big one, the Nurburgring.
Felt a sense of achievement even as a viewer with that final lap, let alone actually being the person that did it 😂 GG’s Jimmy!
Still a farcry from Gran Turismo mission 34. Nothing can top that
@@thomasallen4340 Haven't done any extra missions yet, definitely keep an eye out for that one now haha
This is what effort is and you're looking as young as ever Jimmy
I'm convinced he hasn't aged since 2017 and has instead just leveled up his beard game 🤌💯
what the fuck? emoji? highly cursed youtube comment.
@@RubyRoksDo you think he's secretly using an anti aging cream from L'Oréal
@@Diax1324 i see it also first time
Honestly it was really heartening to see that Jimmer struggled in the same ways I did with this License.
I have to say I massively admire how cool headed you stayed. I let myself lose my head way too much!
Dude if they would just adjust the sensitivity of the blackhole/instant snap effect on curbs and grass, this would be a tad more realistic. But yeah the struggle is real lol
@@berret2589 Ever driven into a puddle 180 km/h on slicks? There is pretty much no grip at all.
on controller ngl i raged a lot on this one, i was like wtf am i meant to do not turn?
cuz yeah basicaly you turn too much by tiny amount at any high speed turn = dead
im so happy i already did it, never doing that cursed thing again
@@etiennelandry118 I had half an hour of spare time so I actually went back to S-10 to improve my time because I liked the challenge. I managed to do a 2.24,2, but I think there's lot of time still to be gained for me. I will probably try again in the weekend and go for low 23s at the very least, maybe high 22s.
I guess people just enjoy different things. And yes, I'm sadly on a controller as well.
S-10? Oddly enough this isn't the license test that gave me hell. There's 2 spots where I decided to coast to keep control, then decided to focus on other areas where I had more than enough grip. My first sector time was slow because of this but it was clean, and after 3 or 4 tries I got gold on controller.
Took me 3 hours just to get bronze. This is legit the hardest license test ever.
I havent done it yet I'll accept bronze on this all day
I cannot wait to attempt it and put my G29 through my TV
I will admit this one took me a while to get gold but that dirt track is killing me. It’s the only one I don’t have gold on and it’s killing me
@@kylejewett9581 the dirt license tests are bugged since the latest update. The cars are equipped with road tires.
I’d argue the Nissan Le Mans one in 4 was harder purely because of the peripheral making it impossible to feather the throttle
Imagine trying this with a h-shifter+clutch setup...Every downshift would be scary because every single one has to be perfect. One wrong blip and you're off
I have and I had to go back the my controller cant get gold
This would be an amazing challenge for Jimmy. I mean...he topped his friends board so he has to have another challenge xD!!!
As a purist, getting gold on this with an H-pattern and clutch was one of the hardest racing game achievements I've ever gotten. Did it in 2:25.898
@@boxenjoyerkona I was a bit of a shitter when it came to this. I used my shifter to go up gears, but then paddles to go down. Works for me
Actually, you get the full speed on upshifting with the H shifter and no delay _plus_ an auto blip on downshifts with the paddles.
The 2fps tachometer is one of my favorite little details in the game.
and why is it that way?
Jimmy's chat rendition is the most accurate thing I've ever heard
What I have to moderate every single stream
The licenses have been a mixed bag for me, most I get gold first time no problem, then the odd one that takes me a bit longer comes around and I feel that classic gran turismo frustration. 10/10
Spot on and well said
A little difficulty here and there will make you a better gamer/driver, if a game is too easy or not hard enough it's not enjoyable for me that's my opinion any way but GT7 is giving me that challenge & frustration I haven't had in years of playing virtual racing games, 10/10.
@@paparoach007 totally agree its the sweet spot
5% of the time to complete a mission, i get to 0,005 seconds of the gold time... and the other 95% is basically breaking the gold time
The thing which has always bothered me with these 1 lap attacks on Gran Turismo is that they force you to start again if you make a mistake - if it was realistic, you'd be able to keep going around the circuit until you found your groove and started cutting away at your times.
I remember the Senna lap of Brands hatch on GT6 and plugged away at that so many times
TOP notch lap haha!
now its time for steeeeeveeee!! im excited for that challenge video
Steve already has a time of 2:20
@@brentschmgbert3578 yeah lmao he beat it by two seconds before the video even came out
18:36 my god that save was spectacular
This is the normal way of driving this car in Pcars2 lol
UA-cam channel z28gaming gives a really good account of how to do this test. Well worth a watch
I'm certain at this point that that's the fastest way around that corner in this challenge
GT7 definitely stepped up massively towards a real simulator going by the tire/car/suspension physics.
it's difficult indeed, you gotta control the throttle to perfection and avoid the wet parts of the track like it's a disease
Avoid the water like the clap.. Got it 👌😂
Avoid the wet parts like you avoid a politician's room
With this era of car, low weight, big non linear power and limited aero you are the traction control. Smoooth is key. Be aggressive and it will bite.
His throttle control was nearly nonexistent.
Imagine any of these crashes IRL... terrifying
Especially from the driver perspective, losing grip at that speed would be horrifying
Hooooly shite man, you had so many sweet catches and saves on that lap, was awesome to watch! It's crazy to me how well composed the car looks from the outside while you're wrestling with it, can't imagine driving this thing for real...
Wait, you don't accelerate with your left foot??
Yeah cris cross formation, never minded to show toes bdw..
I love how they accurately recreated the movement of the chronometric tacho, details like that definitely set GT7 apart from everything else 👍🏻
i thought that was a bug, lol,is it like that irl?
@@staticbg yeah old school tacho
AC model does the same :D
Other games have this detail too though... GT isn't the only and wasn't even the first.
No one said that GT7 was the first and only to do that dude, the fact that they included this detail in the game is already impressive
lol i went in to GT7 after watching you and Steve thinking the Golds were going to be easy. Even on a wheel, nope. I think you two have had too much practice.
Yeah i was cursing them both while trying I was thinking get these done quick enough ha ha showed how bad I am
It was like two race car drivers criticising the game they played as kids for being too easy now 😹
a decently experienced gamepad player can get all the way to the S license (all gold) with some difficulty, but S licenses seem almost impossible on anything that isn't a wheel
I actually found S10 easier on a controller. I suppose it is easier to control slides on it?
Just out of curiosity, is everyone struggling coming from GT Sport or have you guys driven other Sims like AC, rFactor, etc?
One of the best Vids from Jimmy in a long time!! Keep this coming Jimmer!
This game has completely taken me over. I'm surrounded at all times with content from it 😂
Same and they've all got the DD Pro wheel, tempting me like the devil when my TS-XW is just over a year old!
Me: "I don't need this, I have a 200GB Assetto Corsa install on PC"
Sim Satan Jimmer: "But Direct Drive is finally attainable, screw the rise in costs of everything, just do it!"😈
Same here 😅
When Jimmy said “my trouble is everywhere” I felt that. I was saying the exact same thing to myself in hour 2 of trying to gold this licence
Awesomely impressive Jimmy! I've just started sim racing again in the little amateur league I joined last year and am really enjoying learning how the car moves and tuning it for how I drive. Honestly you've been the biggest inspiration for me to take up sim racing even did a 24 hour sim racing challenge for charity... And now back racing since November and absolutely loving it. Please keep putting out the awesome video and can't wait to see you on the podium in the praga this season !
Editing was on point in this video Jimmy ! Good stuff !
Was stuck on 2:26.156 for three days, then I just got a brutal lap together and boom 2:23.316...
The feeling of achievement was amazing!
I'm stuck on almost exactly that time! Only been one day so far but I feel it could be three lol
Man that was an awesome lap Jimmy!! That was enjoyable to watch indeed
Love to see that progress, the frustration to lead up to the eventual sheer happiness. Puts a smile on my face every single time.
This brought up massive PTSD haha. I did a 2:24 on the controller on the first completed lap but just finishing the fking thing took sooo long. Sector 1 was good for me, 2 was hit and miss but the commitment in the final sector always broke me with the oversteer snaps.
Congrats on smashing the record at the time man! Also bring back this outro, I miss this outro on these types of videos!
As a filmmaker I appreciate the call out for no continuity errors.
Amazing car. Great sound in game too.
GT7 is really underwhelming, anybody else feel like this? Like the visuals are still ps4-tier despite the RDNA2 PS5 graphics, the audio is simply slightly modifed VRDETT nissan engines, the mechanics are disappointing (no proper visual damage), the car selection is dismal and not as detailed as the PS5 capabilities initially foretold. All in all living on nothing but hype. Kaz has seen his best days behind him. Here's hoping Assetto and Forza can continute to curbstomp it and save sim racing
@@fredflintstone7646 I could be wrong here but I'm willing to go out on a limb cause I don't remember who asked?
@@caelum-5584 crying because your new game is shit?
@@abyss18 Not at all! Having great fun with it actually :)
@@fredflintstone7646 what
Great race on the IMSA channel early pandemic upload of a classic race at lime rock park with all of these GT cars and man the raw visceral power looked scary and extreme
That was a really cool video. Especially because you clearly become smoother by the end of it. There are lots of unnecessary wheel movements in the beginning of the video (which is sort of frustrating to watch), while by the end, your movements are much, much smoother and precise!
If people want a tip keep going in and out of the test until the sun is out, that way you will see the dry line more easily
No way! How'd he get first above the best?! That's literally insane. Good job, bro! 🔥 🔥🔥
Loved this! When the beat drops and the PIP pops, you know Jimmy is about to hit his spots!
Atta boy jimmer. Love the content thank you for the endless hours of enjoyment.
Im impressed he almost recovered that tank slapper at the end
The blanchiment drift ? I was so scared he was going to lose it, what a save
This was, by far, one of the hardest licence tests I've done in a very long time. Took nearly 2 hours to finally get the gold
Ahh Jimmy! Mate, massive congrats - did not see that ending coming haha! amazing work .
This reminds me a lot of the final license test in GT4, you had to get around the Nurburgring in a Mercedes C11, under 8:50 I think? And no crashes, spinouts or offs.
For me, a user several orders of magnitude lower than Jimmer here, it was brutal.
eta: Ha! Well done!
This looks like me doing most of the tests up to IA 10 😂
I haven't even attempted to do the super licences.
I wish I was as skilled as Jimmy to get gold in all the licences very easily. Most of the tests took me a few attempts except IA10 which I spent three and a half hours to beat.i was just .003 off getting gold in that test but eventually got it.
I spent two entire evenings on this - a friend was watching and at the end of the second night, I was like, “Alright, one last try before bed.” Finished almost a second under gold, and we freaked the fuck out. Whoever designed these license tests - good fucking job man
That's awesome. Took me two nights as well haha
This was great to watch Jimmer. Great video!
One of your best videos Jimmy! I’ve been watching every vid for 5 years! 🤙 love this content
Steve has 2.20 record , wait for part 2 of Jimmy tryharding to improve
To be fair, Steve has his ABS turned on.. but still, both of them are crazy fast ngl
That's pretty par for the course for Gran Turismo license tests.
They'll be completely reasonable, easy even, then one of them is just *stupid.*
It's better than some of the earlier tests though, literally if your tire touched grass you failed, it was insanely frustrating.
Well done! That was frikken awesome, final lap was tense!
Steve McQueens car very nice. i might go and watch Le Mans the 1971 classic film with some incredible footage of 70's Le Mans machinery for those who haven't seen it. Jimmy .. your a good lad Love and Respect
I wanna see him get gold in the rally tests with the bugged RH.
Fixed already
S-10 for me was one of the easiest tests. License A-10 gave me the most trouble
same i got s-10 in 4 tries (maybe 10 minutes), but goddamn the supra one in tokyo expressway was hard cuz i was overthinking it
Did A10 for 2 hours straight and still haven't got gold
S10 is easy as long as you stay off the water
A-10 isn't that hard but the supra on tokyo expressway is hard
I done a10 second try s10 took me 7 hours -_-
I love to do this kinda stuff with my friends on Forza Motorsport 7 since I don’t have a PC yet and I have an Xbox One they still hop on and we’ll compete in Rivals for the monthly’s or we each have one track we pick and class and we have to keep top spot on the track and class we chose. Rivals with them keeps the game fun for me, as well as the GT Endurance hopper.
Good one bro. Nice. Made that car look smooth as silk in that last lap apart from some minor moments, and that car is hard to make go "smooth"😎👍✌️🖖🤘🤙
The only complaint I (still) have with GT 7 are the rally stages. Stick to tarmac GT lol
have you never played the old games?
@@brandonlehman7440 I have played all of them and its been a complaint since I was a child lol
Agreed. If they want to make a separate off roading GT game I'd be cool with that. But that stuff has always been not very fun.
jump = time to flipperino
@@AbirMojumder max out down force in settings. for approaching jumps when driving: settle car, tap on brakes, full gas over crest, throttle down to match wheel spin to travel speed in air before touch down. minimal to no flipperino.
Imagine that day when iRacing releases rain... this mayhem, but in multiplayer!
You can have this mayhem in Multiplayer in GT7
pog vid... the music during the first 3 mins was impeccable good job made my day
Jimmy, your self-talk is priceless lol. Love your work, keep it up!
"The golds were too easy" - Professional race car driver Jimmy Broadbent.
Sounds like it'll be hard for us normies
Great job Jimmy! Wasn't expecting that ending.. the ball is in Steve's court now ;)
Didn’t stay top for long Jimmy 😂 brilliant job though. I’ll never get anywhere near this. It’s refreshing to see the back and forth between you guys on these licenses. Mucho bueno content 👍
I was so happy that I managed to do this test in like 2 attempts while also beating your initial time and now I just feel destroyed
amazing driving holy shit. Love the calling steve out bit haha fan of his stuff also.
Jimmy be killin’ it! Way to persevere man!
New to the channel here, just wanted to say I love what you have on the whiteboard!
That last lap was tense. It felt like holding your breath for the whole time just looking at it. That was some brave and precise driving !!!
I love it when you win Jimmy. Watching you celebrate and chirp is hilarious. Good on you.
Good job, I enjoyed watching this video liked/subbed
reminds me of that challenge in PGR4, snow nur in 1940s racers
The jump cuts when you go to say a naughty word... fu**ing hilarious jimmer
Bahrain F1 2022 opener can only hope to be as exciting as this. Truly inspirational and absolute masterclass driving! (and great editing) moooooooar B)
I'm really enjoying this video while im drinking my morning coffee. Thank you sir.
Congrats Mate , Top💪🔝
This video is great for psychology class.
Motivation, frustration, first success, concentration goes down, frustrated humor, actual frustration, brain realises this dude is not stopping and focus goes up again,...
Beautiful :D
Way to go Jimmy!!! This is awesome🤘🏼🤘🏼
This is why i used to learn a circuit and a car in the wets but this looks like fun
Always entertaining as usual jimmy 😆😆👍👍 its Hellafun this license but bloody hard took me 1hour n 30 min to get a 2.25.5.. on ps4 controller, would like to try it on a DD at some point in the future.
I just noticed you can see the drivers helmet reflected in the dials - incredible detail!
This video goes straight to my favorites!!
I loving watching you struggle Jimmy ! XD
Pushed Spa as well today, love this track
Also with the 1.06 update adds in random wind direction so could go quicker or slower based on random condition
I saw a 917LH in person a few weeks ago at the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia.
That was so intense!! Can't wait to see how Mr Albon does!!
That was mint. Well done fella
It's been really hard since the update to do any of the licenses/track exp on dirt as the update has put racing tires on the cars and you can't change them 🙄
One of the 3 legendary cars for the trophy was up for sale yesterday for 4.6m credits.
That’s the best Kevin Estre impression ever!!!!! Amazing!!
Awesome work, great commitment I got gold and could not bring myself to retry
great run, Awesome video.
I didn't know Jimmer knew about the criss-cross technique!!
WHAT A LAP JIMMY!
That last lap may have been the best lap I have ever seen you execute.
I remember going into this thinking thisll be somewhat tough, being an old 1970s race car but not too bad....then i saw it was on a wet track
I Love your Video, congrat for P1... 💪🏼😎👍🏼
I know it’s only a game but I legit cheered when you got 1st place!! I’m a fan mate I really am!! Congrats 🥳
It became ten times harder after the recent update. Gold time is 02:25,00 now. Wet part is wider in several locations (dry surface after the first steep turn is narrower than the car width). Grip became worse on the dry surface.
That was BUtter Good Job Jimmer!!
The transformation from early crazy crashes through frustration, comic relief, swearing, and little victories yet not giving up to attaining silent confidence by the last glorious lap is one of the magical addictions of gaming. Thanks for sharing!
o henlo there!
There I am, with my little 2:24.642 (F.Marques)
to be fair, I had to use:
- the countersteer assist on weak AND the analog stick instead of the motion sensor (hidden pad assists).
and I did it at like midnight, was already dead tired.
so yea, props to ya Jimmy! there's a reason why I'm not driving a Praga and you are :D
15:41 "buttery biscuit base" had me dying 😂🤣😂 throwback
