Mcguighan is a prime example of what Fury was talking about saying don't call all my opponents shit after I beat them. If memory serves me correct Barry said Wilder and Whyte would beat Fury he also said Chisora would beat Fury back in 2011. Sour grapes as usual

And Fury gets the hate now because he keeps talking shit without backing it up, nearly disgraced boxing by losing to an MMA fighter, delayed the fight against Usyk after he realised he was in trouble and needed more training, then another delay for his fucking injury. Talks all the shit about mental health but again doesn't practice what he preaches.
If he beats Usyk convincingly then people will probably come around to him again.

Fury is frustrating to listen to and because he's so inconsistent with his words, he's difficult to be a fan of..but he's an elite level fighter. McGuigan does talk out of his backside sometimes.

Fury is no elite fighter at all.
He wins his fights against mediocre opponents becayse of his hight and weight, holding, clinching, pushing, squashing, hitting with open gloves and open inside palms and the occasional illegal elbow, holding behind the neck whole hitting uppercuts at the same time and all the other semi-legal tricks he usually gets away with but scertainly not due to elite good boxing skills.

Joshua isn't a better boxer. Yes he hits harder but other than that, Fury is better in every department.

I think prime Fury could have mixed it in any era. His sheer size matched with boxing skill would have troubled any of the greats. I just fear he has gotten old overnight and could be on the wane now.

I'm not a massive fan of Fury, but he is at worst among the best three heavyweights of the last 10 years. Only Usyk and AJ are even in the same conversation.

A lot of Usyk fans are going to look pretty stupid if the Ukrainian loses. I don't personally care who wins this fight, as I've enjoyed watching both men over the years. But Usyk fans sound just like the Ngannou fans that told us he was an invincible monster who would smash AJ in one round and who could beat Fury and Usyk in the same day.

It wasn’t just beating Klitschko, it was the manner of the victory. Barely got touched. Probably would have beaten Haye had he not pulled out. Destroyed Chisora and Whyte. Not that many other ’elite’ fighters for him to beat. The layoff ruined the AJ fight but worked out well because he now gets to beat Usyk and AJ. If he can…

The Elite and goat label gets thrown around too easily nowadays. Usyk has every right to be labelled a goat he's achieved alot in his career.
Tyson fury however looking at his resume he hasn't done alot if I'm being honest here. He beat a burnt out Wladimir klitschko and a cherry picking Deontay wilder that's not enough to be labelled an elite heavyweight or goat.

If you include the proposed HW Super Series (which was ALSO to be held in Saudi but Fury refused to sign the contract) Fury has ducked Usyk no fewer than FOUR times thus far & when he pulls out of May 18th that will make it FIVE.

Fury's ducks of Usyk:
1. The proposed HW Super Series to be held in Saudi. Everyone who was invited to take part signed up (including Wilder, Joshua & Usyk). Fury refused to sign so, as Fury held the WBC belt, the whole thing collapsed. Quack Quack.
2. Usyk v Fury was scheduled to take place in April 2023. Fury refused to sign. Quack Quack.
3. The fight was re-scheduled for Saudi in August 2023 but Fury refused to sign the contract. Ridiculously, negotiations then started for Wembley but if Fury was rejecting the Saudi bag then he was NEVER serious about fighting for much less money at Wembley. Quack Quack.
4. Fight was re=scheduled for December 2023 BUT Fury got a very convenient cut which meant the fight had to be postponed. This was despite Fury threatening to sue Usyk if Usyk failed to show up!! Quack Quack.

Saying Fury won the first Wilder is silly. Just about every single ref in the world would have waved the fight off when Fury was lying unconscious on the floor not moving. He was given a chance many fighters in history would have loved to get but didn’t.
