Love the cash deal, seek out the cash deal, be friends with the cash deal, because the cash deal is a great deal.
Now I don’t know when it turned into a four letter word that nobody wanted to hear. We hear that word cash and it seems like nobody likes it anymore. And I see it on social media quite a bit complaining about, “I got another cash deal.” But the reality is this; if people can write you a $50,000 check for a vehicle, they can probably write you one for $55,000. You know, the cash deal probably got a bad reputation many years ago when the only way we could make money in F&I was with reserve, service contract, life, and disability. Because if you wrote me a check then all of a sudden my four opportunities to make money went down to one. It’s because I lost my reserve, I lost my life, I lost my disability. But in our market place today, with all of the ancillary products that we have available to us, there’s no reason why we still can’t embrace a cash deal and sell products and make money. Because here’s what I know, if they are able to write me a check then all I have to do is be a salesman. I don’t have to worry about the bank approving it, I don’t have to worry about advances, all I have to worry about is convincing you that it’s a good idea and having you see value in the product.
Being in F&I if you’re watching this, I know you can sell and I know you can close, because you wouldn’t have that position if you couldn’t do those two things. So remember, the next time you get a cash deal embrace that cash deal, know that you’re going to make money, and it will happen for you. And that’s your tip of the week.
