Hope you guys enjoyed this video! Special shoutouts to Oreo, Shyguyking, Mew2ube and Miracle 7 ( for the luffy tip!). I know some of the tips were less advanced then others, but I'm hoping you learned at least something from this video, thanks for watching! ~
BowlerSSF2 bowler i found a luigi tech i call the shield slide! basically right before you slide you hold shield which allows safe approaches and a way to shield oncoming attacks and then punish with a grab up tilt jump and ariel or up smash or you could be more defensive and roll spot dodge or jump and airdodge
Better trick for zss. If your recovering and they're a someone at ledge, you can hold down and get the hitbox of up b yo come out and potentially spike someone trying to edgegaurd you
A tip of my own. If you short hop N-air as Luffy, it gives just the right amount of hit stub to be able to combo into a second N-air regardless of percent as long as you're on the ground, this can be repeated infinitely and requires a lot of practice to pull off
I was amazed when I discovered Sora's Flowmotion trick. When landing the hit, press up then forward quickly. If done right, you go upwards with your opponent, with a set launch power, allowing you to follow up with a forward air for a possible KO combo. If you're fighting one of the lighter characters (mainly Jigglypuff), or the opponent DIs, you might have to use your double jump to get the combo.
Thank you for the tips on every character Bowler! I actually main Lloyd, and Luffy, so I'm able to learn a few things from here. I basically use the entire roster so yeah! Thanks again!
I’ve been labbing SSF2 for a while and here some things that I’ve found: Mario/Luigi- you can double jab, then do either a grab or a short hop aerial, and when you jab again, their third jab combo comes out instead of a regular one. Not really useful but it’s interesting Peach/Yoshi/Ness- borrowed from melee, but if you double jump right as you reach a platform, you can instantly use any grounded move. Good for quick smash attacks for follow-ups Peach: Float diar so you hit right above shield is safe and can combo into nair for around 30% Sheik/DK- you can charge your neutral B in the air, then air dodge right before hitting the ground to instantly move out of it DK- has one of the best ledgestalls by falling and using up b at the right timing. It has a good hitbox and super armor which gives you free ledge options and mixups Pika- might have been patched, but if you do an aerial onto shield into rapid jabs it’s an easy shield break if they don’t act fast enough G&W- bucket immediately puts you into fall so you can cancel a jump half way into bucket for off stage recovery mixups Fox/Falco- you can hold shine offstage to fall slower and immediately jump out and bair to edgeguard pretty effectively Luffy- also has a good ledge stall with drop down down b which has super armor Goku- a good way to recover from ledge is to jump off and float at the stage height. If you up b straight, then then you can instantly move after. You can adjust how far away from stage you want to start the up b for more mixup General tips Reverse B- instead of flicking the other direction before pressing B, first let go of the direction you’re pressing, press the opposite direction, then press the direction you’re pressing so you have both directions down. This gives you a safe way to reverse up b that is pretty consistent Running jab- you need to be fully running for a bit, but as you’re running forward, hold back and press A. The only other way is to crouch then jab, which normally leads to a down tilt Pivoting- by going in one direction and pressing the other before going into full run, and pressing an attack, you can do a quick move forward or back with the attack. Great for micro spacing and allows for small movements before crouch running distance. Some of these are def better than the others but they’re all pretty interesting
I see that someone else has figured out that DK has like the best ledge stall ever (granted that you don't mess up the timing of your up B) I main DK and when I discovered this it dramatically improved my game
Greg S luigi has something really cool to get more consistent up b kills all you have to do is jab 1 and wait half a second to do another jab and if it is jab 1 you can keep going or just up b!
10:53 you can also hold the Special (Kamehameha wave) to keep the infinite Kaio-ken. Also since it is kaioken, your kamehameha wave charges a lot faster, and will do more damage (correct me if i'm wrong) just keep a look out on your Hp.
I already hate fighting Pacman as it is but that side B stall is gonna make it even more of pain in the ass. Thanks Bowler. Passive aggressiveness aside, cool little video. Already knew about the DK side B spike though, I main him after all
Hey Bowler, I got a few tips you may or may not know. G&W can absorb several of Isaac's moves with his Down B. He can absorb Isaac's F-Tilt, U-Tilt, D-Tilt, Down B and Side B with. Captain Falcon has some fairly useful wall-jumps with his Falcon Kick on certain stages. Mushroom Kingdom 2 and Hyrule Castle are some examples. You should try using Falcon Kick's on various parts of the levels. They're situational, but if you wanna be flashy, Hyrule Castle and Mushroom Kingdom 2 has some really good Falcon Kick glides and walljumps. Maybe I'll upload a quick video to demonstrate this.
I recently found a tech with luigi where if you crouch at a specific time during his dash, he will keep sliding but be in his idle. Think of it like a modified, harder to perform wavedash. This means you can do a sliding d-tilt, f-tilt, u-tilt, jab, d-smash, or f-smash by canceling the dash. You can also shield or u-smash, but you could do that out of dash anyway. The dash cancel can probably be used by other characters, but since luigi slides and has an abysmal dash attack, i think it would be the most useful with him. You can also cancel the dash early to lose all momentum and use your crawl to move backwards or forwards as a mixup. The timing is kind of strict. Too early and your momentum's gone, too late and you'll do the long skidding animation or dash attack. However, if done correctly by a skilled player, they could get a punish otherwise couldn't or have a good approach option and pressuring tool.
tip: shiek also have an infinite recovery like pac man by using the bouncing fish. to do it, go on steel diver or just turn on light gravity in a special smash fight in any stage. and just spam bouncing fish.
also puff has a really neat combo that makes her down-b a little bit less risky, when the opponent is at 20% or higher and you grab them and then use her down throw, most of the time they will fly just a little and then land in the rest range, and is very likely that they can't recover after that, some characters like sora land diagonally instead of vertically, so puff has to jump to reach them, this works almost all the time but it still needs practice. o yeah and puff's down air it's really useful when it comes to build up damage
I found ZSS's directional down b on complete accident and that was when I knew I would only seriously play her just to troll unsuspecting opponents. Also another tip for zss, her dash attack can combo well with her neutral b, just stun them and spam dash attack and can usually lead to edge guards, which are a joke with her lasso and neutral b. If you are feeling risky, you can start it off with a down b or dair instead of neutral b.
*For the mentioned LLoyd tech:* You can direct yourself either forwards or backwards, without even needing to dash. pretty good for recovering if you're under the stage.
Not very useful, backwards recovery way actually useful pre patch as it went a bit higher and snapped ledge slightly easier, but now they both kinda snap ledge and are pretty much the same, However let us mention the fact that lloyd can throw out aerials after up b, using a reversed up b into a back air can be devastating to your opponent if you catch them by surprise,
Hey, one little tip for Meta Knight and I guess Kirby is that their up throw can destroy megaman's crash bomb, sometimes it works and sometimes don't, but I guess it just works in some stages, idk, I didn't test a lot lol
I got Naruto tech and i feel special and probably everyone know's this but whatever So you line yourself up against the edge of a stage grab your opponent and use your down special. That sends them flying into downwards off stage and three things could happen if they are at high enough percent they will go straight into the blast-zone, if they are at a low percent they can easily recover, and if they're and a sort of medium percent and they're trying to recover you can f-air them to death. Hope this helps at least one person
If you time bowsers DAir right you can short hop fastfall it into a quick down or upsmash on the opponent. Be careful as there is a chance they can end up on a side rather than under
I main MK in beta, one good tip, if you want pure vertical distance when recovering, use his down b. also if you just want to go up with down be just tap down b and dont press any direction.
I love how most of the tips are like "Hey heres a character unique movement option or underrated kill setup" and then for ZSS its just like "did you know you can turn around when you down b"
I believe every double jump cancelable character can do this, I know Ness can, but they can run/walk off a platform and double jump cancel drift back on the platform with an attack, this gives them a great option on platforms other than shield drop. Ness does best with his up air. You can also combine this with his PSI magnet and make it different timings or use it to change direction for a Fair or Bair.
Falcon also has a chain grab, and it is down throw (its easier when you're fighting big dudess like bowser/dk/wario), also in a previous version of the game megaman has the same thing, down throw chain grab which is nerfed now but still worth mentioning out :1 edit: *i just found this out* When an Opponent is near the ledge Bowser can actually do a throw in mid air just like bandana dee's up throw mentioned in this video (i don't know if it works on all the characters though) Edit 2: Game and Watch also has a wind box in his down taunt which can be a really good and disrespectful shield break punish
Here's a mario tip: His f-air hitbox can cross up and spike upwards instead of down. This tends to kill around 110%, while the intended direction can gimp at 40% offstage
Ichigo can do a fair slide nut it has to be precise before he lands to slide at good distance (this can combo with a jab) for grater distance, jump during the slide and he goes really far.
I have one tip for Mega Man: * Charge Shot is your best friend on Battlefield. Mega Man can keep charging while on the platforms so this allows you to keep pressure on offstage opponents.
Bowler, I did somethings and i found chainbrabs with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Marth, Fox this is it for now I'll come back give the rest when I get on. Edit: DK, Link, Zelda, Shiek, Captain Falcon Edit: Kirby, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee, Samus, ZSS, Ness, Isaac, Sora, Pac-Man, Loydd, Bomber-Man, and Ichigo
I had found a glitch where i was playing as sandbag and used my neutral special, and the opponent had held the pokeball from my neutral special. And i grabbed him, and the pokeball dropped putting out a belossom (is that how you spell it) and i was put to sleep. But the opponent was literally just frozen in place still as if i was still grabbing him. For him to get out of it i had just hit him and he went away. It reminds me of the ice climbers freeze glitch in melee
Shoutouts to bowler for the video, hopefully this would help peeps become one step better with their characters. And... let us all give our prayers to falling tempest... R.I.P falling tempest~Murdered by the devs after 1.0.3
There's a good amount known about these characters now thanks to bowler, but what about COUNTERING them? (That would be a cool video idea, no rush though)
Hey Bowler, if you make a 3rd video of this, here is another recovery tip for Pit. Since Side B isn't good for recovering, and it can't snap to the ledge, people who are good against Pit are conditioned to punish it. But here is something nobody as ever been able to punish on me. When you are recovering, make sure you are a considerable distance from the ledge, and you are above the ledge. Side B. If you are far enough, Pit will finish side b, and will fall straight to the ledge in his endlag animation. Why is this useful? Well, every time I do this mixup, the opponent attempts to hit me straight on, and I end up going under them, and I have never been punished by players, even in tourneys with good players. Not a tech, but it's a mixup to get Pit on the ledge. I'm really sorry for long comment.
may i please have help for the peach thing? I am new to Super smash flash 2 but I still play a lot. I want to know how to do that and I dont really know what side b and that thing is. Can you tell me the simplified way?
I have multiply times tested the kirby tip you mentioned in the video, and i cannot get it to work. When i use dk's charged giant punch against kirby's uncharged giant punch (almost frame perfect) kirby doesn't seem to get any superarmor unless he charges it (like DK)
Funny enough you can, but only with fast fallers and big characters like DK and Bowser. However in order to pull this off you need to master the flowmotion cancel but hitting flowmotion up then back. Flowmotion towards them again, and repeat. But u have to angle the initial flowmotion just to be able to connect
#BanPacman :V also, Bomberman's Bomb glitch (which also worked with Link Bombs, Pokéballs and Master Balls) was fixed for next patch and Kirby's best Copy Ability is Mega Buster, which allows him to camp in the air while charging
For anyone who plays red sheik: if you go red zelda and transform into sheik, the red sheik has a darker shade of red. Not useful in gameplay, but a cool cosmetic change for sheik. Also: Neutral color: no difference between zelda sheik and regular sheik Red: zelda sheik is slightly darker Green: no difference Blue: no difference Weird green/yellow: sheik and zelda sheik are super different Purple: zelda sheik is slightly lighter Black: no difference White: zelda sheik is lighter by just a tiny bit
Hope you guys enjoyed this video! Special shoutouts to Oreo, Shyguyking, Mew2ube and Miracle 7 ( for the luffy tip!). I know some of the tips were less advanced then others, but I'm hoping you learned at least something from this video, thanks for watching! ~

Pika- might have been patched, but if you do an aerial onto shield into rapid jabs it’s an easy shield break if they don’t act fast enough
G&W- bucket immediately puts you into fall so you can cancel a jump half way into bucket for off stage recovery mixups
Fox/Falco- you can hold shine offstage to fall slower and immediately jump out and bair to edgeguard pretty effectively
Luffy- also has a good ledge stall with drop down down b which has super armor
Goku- a good way to recover from ledge is to jump off and float at the stage height. If you up b straight, then then you can instantly move after. You can adjust how far away from stage you want to start the up b for more mixup

Are you using a controller instead of the keyboard and do you recommend using a controller?
falcons down through is broken, after doing a down through you can do a short hop to fair you can deal like 50 damage if you get it right
On meta knight use Down Throw then follow up with f-tilt. Repeat this and it will be a nasty chain grab
Bowler, you can also make your kaio Ken last forever if you keep doibg your side b
Extra tip for Peach : Down smash can sometimes do 60+%
if you land ichigo's fair on the ground and that dashes you forward, is that a pseudo wave dash?

Can't Sora Bayonetta people with Flowmotion?
Funny enough you can, but only with fast fallers and big characters like DK and Bowser. However in order to pull this off you need to master the flowmotion cancel but hitting flowmotion up then back. Flowmotion towards them again, and repeat. But u have to angle the initial flowmotion just to be able to connect
4:30 “Kamekameha”

I have a question; is Bowler and Nate TV the same person?

For anyone who plays red sheik: if you go red zelda and transform into sheik, the red sheik has a darker shade of red. Not useful in gameplay, but a cool cosmetic change for sheik.
Also:
Neutral color: no difference between zelda sheik and regular sheik
Red: zelda sheik is slightly darker
Green: no difference
Blue: no difference
Weird green/yellow: sheik and zelda sheik are super different
Purple: zelda sheik is slightly lighter
Black: no difference
White: zelda sheik is lighter by just a tiny bit
