Very glad that Dan is taking care of you, Amy. Your position looks so much better on the bike & not surprised your knee pain is gone w/ a proper shoe/cleat/pedal setup.
Awesome shoes Amy you are blinging out this year girl! We have to see how those shoes and pedals perform in real life on the road. TTFN to you and keep the smiles and yippies coming.
I have two pair of Lakes and like them very much. The reason bike fitters select them over other brands is because they are one of the few (perhaps the only) manufacturers to make shoes with sole plates of different widths, in addition to offering different lasts for different riding styles. I have EE width feet and wear their wide version of shoes and they nicely accommodate the lateral edge of the foot without any pressure. Most other brands make a wide version of their shoe by adding more material to the upper to cover a higher instep or wider foot, but the sole plate is the same as the regular fit shoe. The only weak point with Lake is the stock insole. A custom insole makes a big difference.
When mounting a bike in "real life" I *_always_*_ clip in w/ one cleat while standing on the ground, then put my weight on that pedal to swing my leg over_ -- that way I don't have to swing my leg all the way over the saddle while standing on the ground.
I find it difficult getting shoes with a wide enough toe box. Especially with cycling where my feet swell slightly over the course of a ride, so what is comfy at the start isn’t necessarily comfy at the end. However I have now got Lake cx201s and love them. The front is basically just canvas, but they’re great. Oh and icebug insoles aswell, thoroughly recommend them
Excellent upgrades all around!! Happy to see you go thru the proper fit as well. You will really appreciate the fruits of this video during your cycling season. Did get new pedals as well?? I hope....PS-you can't go wrong with LAKES. Cheers, Pjw
Nice, Lake are good shoes. Buh buh but... there is no reason for road cleats... they're chunky, they wear out, and you can't walk. When you do clunk along they are slippy dangerous. Many, including myself, switched to gravel cleats for road use, and have never looked back.
I wear a 50 wide and love my Lakes. Best shoes out there.
I did not know that about putting shoes on correctly, I will be doing it from now on, makes sense as I know feet swell when exercising.

I just got a new pair of Lake 218 regular width, and the insole it came with was too wide for the inside of the shoe, which was a bit odd.
I just bought a new pair as well. Congradulations!! 😃
You can always name your bunion... "Bunny" 😜
I hear more and more about Lake being amazing shoes. Thanks for sharing this. Will have to give them a try.
Personally I love them. They may not be the cheapest around but I feel you get good value for your money.
Can't go wrong with lake shoes , the different widths are a great feature. Not cheap but worth every penny . X
Absolutely guffawed at 2:50 !!! The funniest comment on any channel this year, imo
More comfort, more power, more miles for Amy.
Loved that. Now i know how to put my cycling shows on 😊

Have you changed your bars yet?
Myself have a pair of lake CX403 blue purple chameleon - they colour match my DOGMA F - just wished this weather would buck up…
James of Bicycle Richmond always says you can have any fitted shoe as long as it’s Lake.
Love that guy - absolutely no bs with him. I bought Lakes on his recommendation and don't regret it in the slightest. Brilliant shoes.
I found matching bruises just below my knees and then someone told me on a ride that I hit the bar where my knees fall inwards x
Fascinating, that was great
I claim premier podium position !!!! Yay !
