Hey DragonCon since you're now officially broadcasting the "Just get on the elevator going the wrong direction" rule as official policy, how about you include some helpful etiquette for elevators.
    1. If someone is handicap - make space, even if that means getting off the elevator for them. I watched so many handicapped people get stuck in the lower two floors because they just couldn't go up.
    2. If you are on on of the first five floors and you are physically capable - just don't use the elevators, there are stairwells they are usually quicker anyways.
    3. Don't jump on the elevator - EVER - sure it can be fun for you; but, with so much stress on the elevators as is, don't do things that could damage them and make it worse. Also there are nervous people and this is an awful scenario for them.
    4. BE PATIENT & BE POLITE - Don't just cut people off and get in the elevator - it makes you a huge jerk.
    5. Speaking of stairwells in point 2, don't pee in them and be careful with your drink. Some folks have cosplays that drape on the ground and I'm sure they would like to avoid the sticky if possible.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We here at DCTV do not condone the "Up to Go Down" mindset as it actually hinders elevator progress. We are working to remove the reference from this segment. As for elevator etiquette, our PSA from 2014 "Make Room! Make Room!" addresses letting on those who cannot take the stairs or escalators and we show it regularly in the ballrooms and on DCTV during the convention.
The link to that PSA is here: ua-cam.com/video/ZysklRhrH0o/v-deo.html
Please feel free to share it with your fellow Con-goers.

@@DragonConTV thank you for your reply. In rereading my initial comment it reads as angrier than intended. I’ve read the make room make room PSA and I actually avoid taking the elevators in general because well I think everyone reading this knows why. Plus I could use the cardio. That said the proverbial genie is out of that bottle, a host and two tour guides for noobs admitted they were offering it as advice (because most veterans are, no bad on them for being candid) however I think them pausing to add in some additional points would work. Since this was filmed last year I suggest just inserting bumps. They’re fun, they’re catchy and they are an integral part of DCTV and the Con experience in general. Again thanks for the reply and I look forward to seeing your upcoming shows!
