- The Princess of Wales says she is in the early stages of cancer treatment.
The King says he is "so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did" and remains in the "closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law", according to a statement Buckingham Palace.
In a short statement, Buckingham Palace says King Charles and Queen Camilla "will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time”.
She says her major abdominal surgery in January was successful.
Tests later found cancer had been present.

Most of us don't know her personally, but I wish her well...I recently had a colonoscopy in November, and one of the polyps they removed would have turned into cancer if not removed. Please people.... especially black men....like me....go get yourself checked! I am glad I did.

I lost my spouse to cancer as well. Thank God I didn’t get inundated with lies and BS from people that I chose not to tell until my husband was comfortable with me doing so. It does rock your world to get that diagnosis but you give it everything you have to beat it. My prayers for all the royals and the rest of the world should just give them their space. Vultures.

Additionally, she announced both her diagnoses of cancer with full description immediately, which took a great deal of courage, especially considering that both her malignancies appear to be far more serious than either the King's or Princess Catherine's.

Well, let be very understanding in her time and choice of making a photoshop (which loads of people both common and celebrity do) in not showing herself in a state and as someone who has lost family members to cancer and had a mother survive breast cancer and throat cancer understand her not wanting to be seen in public I mean my mum felt embarrassed to come out in public with her hair falling out from the chemotherapy of course Princess Kate doesn’t want to be seen for her self wreath and for her children. How can it "preventative" is she already has it?
Chemo is used to kill cancer cells either in a neo adjuvant (before surgery) setting or adjuvant setting when cancer cells are found in the post surgical biopsies. Chemo isn’t given as a preventative measure, it is given to kill cancer cells. Immunotherapy is often used as a metastasis preventative after chemo, surgery and radiation.
