It's important for travellers to be aware of the potential Tuk Tuk scams in Phuket, Thailand. During my recent visit to the area, I had an interesting and somewhat comical experience that highlights the issue.
While I enjoy using Tuk Tuks to travel around Phuket, it's not as straightforward as simply stating your desired destination. Instead, the drivers often try to take you to multiple locations along the way so they can earn commissions. This is where the scam comes in, and it's important to be cautious.
During my ride, the Tuk Tuk driver took me to several locations before reaching my final destination. We visited the Big Buddha, had a delicious Thai lunch, went to a shooting range to try a Western-style revolver gun, and then stopped at a high-end jewelry store. I pretended to be shopping for an engagement ring.
After the jewelry store, we finally arrived at Monkey Hill View Point, where the local monkeys were quick to make their presence known. At this point, I thought we were on our way back to my hotel, but the driver made another unexpected stop at a full-service adult massage parlor. I declined the invitation to partake in their services and made my way back to my hotel.
While my experience was amusing, it does highlight the potential Tuk Tuk scam that tourists can encounter in Phuket. It's important to be cautious and aware of these scams to avoid falling victim to them.

This is so informative. Loving these vlogs so much. I watch one every night before bed to unwind. I’d love to see the wild monkeys but can’t handle the tiger places where they may be drugged out and exploited and stuff… Same with the elephants unless it’s a sanctuary but then, how do you really know the sanctuaries really have the animals’ best interests in mind? In Phuket it’s a fine line between scam and trying to rip off tourists. They assume you don’t know anything. Very interesting when they realize you speak thai and know how the locals call places 😂 at least try khao rang instead of monkey hill 🙏

FYI, the gun ranges sometimes scam by giving people mostly blanks. It saves money because there is not lead. Also, the shooter gets frustrated by not "hitting the target" and will want to practice more.
I had the same thing outside Prague . One of our guys was ex military and after one shot looked at the magazine and because it was a stag party who were pissed off they changed the magazines of about 20% of the party . Its not about lead ,it's about people wanting another go like you said because they look like twats in front of their mates .
Is that why I seemed to miss them all? lol … where did the holes come from?
I'm not saying that they are all blanks, but lead cost money and it's cheaper to give you mostly blanks.@@marcoroams

myPatong Hostel is 499 THB per night for a private room.
Bukk Inn in Phuket is great for the money, plus staff is nice and close to clean beach like Kamala beach.

When you go up to the big Budda there is an awesome restaurant halfway down near the Elephants and ATVs I think is called mountain view or mountain side restaurant. We had an awesome lunch there even though the people serving were kind of stand offish.

I think he wanted to take u to few places as just going to only 1 place he didn’t get enough money. Just like taking people to airport, they have to drive there long way and then going back to where he was. That’s why he wanted to force u to going to few places. I would use Uber

actually, i have everything they had on that little menu and more, and we could take em out in the desert and do some target practice, maybe shoot some tannerite (explodes when shot), then once it starts getting later we could put the firearms away, pull out the beers and liquor, and grill up a bunch of food and do a bonfire party out in the desert.
