There’s nothing rude about calling a homeless person homeless. It’s a statement of a fact. It’s no different than calling a rich person a rich person. What should we start calling rich people “people who experience wealth”? Calling a bum a “person experiencing homelessness” doesn’t make them any less homeless. You want to help a homeless guy? It would be good if her office did more to promote her science background since she does back up her policies with scientific information and economic research from Nobel Prize winning economists. But we only keep hearing about her previous jobs in hospitality. That might equip her to do her job in unexpected ways, but the science makes her qualified to speak on this topic.
A science background would help her understand what she's reading/being told, but it would only qualify her to speak on what she studied in any more than a normal person. It's only bribes if the law says it is. So the law was written to say it's not bribes. The reason why the US is not in the top 5 most corrupt nations on Earth is because corruption is legal to begin with.
Applying the science of logic, yes. It's bribing. First, you have to define what bribing is. Bribing is persuading someone to act in one's favor by a gift of money or other inducements to legalize something or someone. The inducement in this particular case could be paying the trip to a beach resort to a congressperson or also providing money for his/her campaign.
Actually, "lobbying" is not bribing, "lobbying with CASH" IS bribing. There is nothing wrong with some people talking to a representative about the interest of a specific group or even a company/industry, etc. But when they do it with MONEY - then it becomes a bribe.

@Stephen Michael i didnt upset me. it seems this resolution is meant to set goals, not to set logistical plans. I thought the document showed great invested thought in expressing goals to include and protect communities that have been harmed by deindustrialization which I'm reading as manufacturing job loss and petrochemical job loss. Sea level rise alone seems enough to warrant setting goals like this. Even if you think that the vast majority of climate scientists are wrong about the CAUSE of our warming planet, it's warming. Not making significant, and yes expensive, effort to get ahead of it is simply delaying even greater cost.

The green new deal is a tax on everything we do make wear eat drink drive import export and even breathe. The main goal is to eliminate cars (as electric ones are neither green nor workable) to be replaced with bikes walking and light rail trains. The next step will be to put a ban on the sale of new combustion engines by a specific date and then limiting the number of new vehicles to be sold. Bans on commercial trucks and shipping will follow. Then they will turn to aeroplanes, reducing their use. Always higher and higher taxes will be used to get the public to "voluntarily" reduce their use of personal transportation services. Thats how it works, slowly and steadily towards the goal. Single family homes are a target for elimination to be replaced by high rise stack and pack apartments in the name of reducing energy use. That will include curfews on carbon heating systems mandating they be turned off during certain hours. Heating oil devices and wood burners will become illegal Gradually energy use of any kind will be continually reduced. The green new deal calls for government control of every single home office and factory to tear down or retrofit them to comply with massive environmental energy regulations. The beef industry is a direct target for elimination. It will start with mandatory decreases in meat consumption until it disapears from our daily diet. The consumption of dairy will follow. Since the revelation of the green new deal the national debate is now over cattle emissions of methane and the drive to eliminate them from the planet. Controlling what we eat is a major part of the green new deal. "Zero economic growth" The green new deal calls for a massive welfare plan where no one worldwide earns more than anyone else. So where will jobs come from after we have banned most manufacturing, shut down most stores, stopped single family home construction, closed the airline industry and severely regulated farms and the entire food industry? This is their answer to the hated free markets and individual choice. The green new deal will destroy the very concept of out Constitutional Republic, eliminating private property and locally elected represenative government, free markets and individual freedoms. All decisions in our lives will be made for us by the government - just to protect the environment of course. How well that scheme works to keep the masses under control!
you gotta remember our beef is basically polluted. Air pollution, land & soil pollution and water pollution (why is our public water privatized? Oh companies just wanna profit out of it and government does not give a crap). Consequently, our bottled water is not safe anymore. It contains micro-plastics... because of the way certain companies fail to manage their waste, spill oil as much as they want into the ocean, we name it. To combat that phenomenon, we need to invest in local business (sustainable), shift sovereignty from "Big Food" to local farmers, reform the tax system (too many loopholes for charity, donation, and corporate taxes; as a result, institutionalized inequality exists- less federal spending for public transportation (which is more sustainable and cleaner for the environment); less spending for clean air and water (literally since the new administration, the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act have been rolled back and Trump-led EPA, jobs they do are JOKES. We need President who cares for their citizens- who believes that we all deserve clean air, water, land, well-being, etc.

The world is warming. There are many kinds of evidence: air temperatures, ocean temperatures, melting ice, rising sea levels, and much more. Human activities are the main cause. The warming is not natural. It is not due to the sun, for example. We know this because we can measure the effect of man-made carbon dioxide and it is much stronger than that of changes in the sun, which we also measure.” ( e.q.) - So, stupid and greedy guys, please don’t say, “Oh, only Alaska people die of huge flood due to melting ice…” We are safe because we are living in Texas…” Ah ha…

Yep.
A science background would help her understand what she's reading/being told, but it would only qualify her to speak on what she studied in any more than a normal person. However, I will disagree with you on your statement "any more than a normal person". Unfortunately, research articles are not written for the layperson. what gets me is, how is lobbying even legal? Isn't it Bribing?
Without a doubt but America is a shithole wrapped in layers of corruption and delusion so lobbying and endless fundraising is all good
Lobbying is just "legal bribes".

@@DailyRants89 If she doesn't understand how economics work, it sounds like she's the perfect fit to be an American president.
@@Rizon1985 are you referring to Trump?? Doesn't understand economics?? Built a billion dollar business empire. Brought back the jobs Obama said weren't coming back. Brought the GDP growth rate from Obama's pathetic 1.9% to 4% which Obama said ," it's impossible to have even a 3% growth rate". And don't say it's Obama who started the recovery, that's just a lie because the recovery started when Ivanka and Donald started slashing Obama's tax legislations and regulations. Brought unemployment rate so low, it's a historic benchmark for African Americans and females. So you're right as I just now realize, if Obama can be president, so can AOC.

Why won't she debate anyone it's too easy to appear on hollywood talk show.Seems that's all this moron does.
Not True. She has a low 21% favorability rating, that just 11% believe she has their best interests in mind, and that only 13% would vote to reelect her.
She's a joke. The green new deal is going to bankrupt America by raising taxes to cover for the excessive expense. 50 to 95 trillion over the next 10 years. Moreover, it wants to eliminate fossil fuels in the next 10 years! How is that even possible? Does this idiot even know what this would entail?
FOX News hates this politically talented young woman.
Because he's a nematode? 🤣🤣🤣😎
Well that would be an insult for the nematodes!!!
Future POTUS right there, folks
Oooooo I HOPE so. With her, the American future would be bright.
Free tuition and electric vehicles and solar panels will reduce the CO2 to normal.
Please read the entire resolution document before you make some dumbass sarcastic comment like this. Electric cars will aid the return of CO2 levels to normal, yes. Solar panels (Which are a form of renewable energy) will aid the return of CO2 levels to normal, yes. Free tuition will encourage high school kids who are deciding not to go to college because of the cost to go. In return if the deal is passed, this will boost the energy career and renewable energy science pathways. This, in turn, will aid the return of CO2 levels back to normal, yes. IF HOWEVER your were making a statement and I took what you said out of context, just ignore this, or comment back and let me know and I'll delete it haha.

did you even read the bill?!
"ReSOLUTION". TY AOC and Seth Meyers.
#AOC is the best!!! #Bernie2020 #AOC2028
AOC was even cuter when she younger than she is now as a mature young woman. She is probably brighter (more intelligent) than many of her older colleagues combined. The best thing is how unapologetic she is when it comes to the issues she believes in and is fighting for. Way to go Alexandria!
Seeing as a bunch of those old bastards are either former 60's & 70's business men who haven't updated their mental faculties in 50 years or whitebread upperclass frat boys from the "Leave It to Beaver" suburbs who skated through college on their parents money, I wouldn't doubt she is brighter than a bunch of them combined.
@@TheLoreSeeker, I am of that generation (I'm 69), but I have lived all my life in a social-democratic country so I KNOW what it's like to live in the kind of society that AOC is fighting for. Affordable Health Care and Education has been a RIGHT in my country for decades, even if our right-wing politicians have been trying to Americanize these things, fortunately with limited success so far. All our energy is renewable (hydro & geothermal) so we only have to clean house regarding transportation. That should be relatively painless for us, compared to many other countries.
Lots of people thought the Interstate road system and Social Security were "pie in the sky" ideas too. Conservatives have been manipulated and propagandized into consistently voting against their own self interests for decades. This is one of the many reasons people call you gullible. And deplorable.
"Because he is a nematode?" LMAO. AOC is my president whenever she wants. Meanwhile,

Tucker Carlson: “How did we wind up with a country in which feminists do science?”
AOC: “Democracy and civil rights is how we got a country where ‘feminists do science.’”
@Bob V Are you really hate watching year old videos? You have a very rudimentary understanding of how science works.
@Bob V I relied because UA-cam told me someone commented on a post I made. I didn't have to dig through the comments of a random old clip I was only watching to fester more hate into.
Your pick lost the election, get over it. Trumps own people say this election is secure. I'm not going to debate you on conspiracy. It's boring and pointless.
@Bob V You are so boring, which is hard for an insane person to do. Cry more. We accepted the 2016 loss. It's your turn.
Luckily we don't need your acceptance.
Go back to hate watching old AoC clips. It's over.
Great interview!
Exactly what America needs! I hope we get hundreds more like her in 2020.
@Frank Sanz that's certainly what those who fear her agenda want you to believe. How can you be so blind and gullible?
@Frank Sanz well don't be too disappointed because not only will she stay in congress but there'll be many many more people that will join her that are just like her!
@Frank Sanz name one policy that AOC is pushing that is socialism.
Your gullibility allows you to be easily misled to believe anyone would want us to turn into the state that Venezuela is in. if you knew anything at all about the progressive agenda and about other places in the world, you would recognize that AOC and those like her want to turn us more into the state Norway and other Nordic countries are in with the happiest people on the planet.
@Frank Sanz show me evidence of her wanting the government to take over healthcare.
So you're saying we have to be more white? Or... have some of the most restrictive immigration policies? I mean that's what you're going to have to do to look and act like Norway.. Do you even think about what you say? Doubt it.
Love it!
Future President.

Tuition free Public Colleges!!! That’s the DREAM lol...Any of my broke college buddies agree?
👇🏼
hell yes
No actually. I paid for my own college and worked my ass off. Parents couldn't help at all... To me, it defeats the purpose of college. College is higher education. Highschool is a right. College is not. My opinion though, you all feel free to agree with whatever. Just politely voicing my opinion.
@@alexanotfromamazon Why do you draw the line at college for publicly funded schooling (at least to an extent)? I guess my question is what makes funding high school and college different, morally, for you? I’m not sure if I fully support free public college, but definitely am a fan of more government subsidization, and no private lenders and having all loans government backed instead. I’m not sure what you meant by it “defeating the purpose of college”. An investment into a more qualified and educated work-force seems like it would help expand the economy to me, and overall benefit society.
I don’t want to discredit you and discount your experience working hella hard, but I’ve seen how some friends have to manage, and I think we should try to help people avoid what you and so many others go through.
Some context is I am currently in college, will have no debt after my second year, but I was in a good situation in high school and was lucky to receive scholarships to pay for most of my schooling (at least so far). I am curious to hear your perspective :)
@@alexanotfromamazon it's nearly impossible to find a good job without a college education nowdays. plus, it helps educate the american population. why would you be against something that only helps?
@@alexanotfromamazon Restricting college to only those who can afford it furthers the already massive class divide we have in this country. A college degree is necessary for almost any stable job. Why should it be so hard for people to break out of the class bracket they were born in? Especially considering college used to be much more accessible when our parents went to college.

Lisa Young, You make having a blessed day very difficult when your understanding of our country, it's history, and why it works could fit on a pin. You're too ignorant to understand that nothing in this world is free. Your wishes, if they ever came true, would make your life more miserable then you could ever imagine. Your party learned long ago that when they control the people's money they control the people.
It's pretty funny to see Fox News & Co call her socialist or communist or whatnot. Judging by European standards, she'd be centrist, maybe center left.
She's got loads of charisma though. I can see her going pretty far in politics.
Not centrist. Many European "centrists" are also dependent/bought by the industry and not far-sighted enough for ambitious economical and ecological politics.
People are still calling Sanders a socialist (who has been taking about global warming since the eighties), when in fact, he is a new democrat. Political Science 101 is missing from the US education system, it would appear.
If only Trump's daughter was this smart.

Richard Somerville - Distinguished Professor Emeritus & Research Professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, said, “The essential findings of mainstream climate change science are firm.

We can be worried about the collapse of the dollar and the warming air, acidifying oceans, and rising sea levels.
We are not ready for this transition!! The replacement of diesel and gas engines to hydrogen fuel cell and electric respectfully will happen eventually. We need to develop the fueling network for these large hydrogen powered trucks. The electric charging network is also not ready; this is a case of putting the cart before the horse and going right off a cliff. Im for this transition to zero carbon, however, we needed common sense gradual plan and this crew has zero!!! Look at Germany, they are energy starved due to a wind drought. They have to fire up oil generation just to keep up with demand.
