In 95' we did a thru hike/backpack ( never seen anyone 5 days till bull pen). It's a hauntingly beautiful place ( wild nature) that you have to respect every minute your down there. Enjoyed your video remembering that spot - Thanks.
Great video! We used to drop a car near where you camped, then drive up to the upper end of the canyon and hike down. Can’t remember what the trail name was, but it was across from Tramway. This was in the 80s and 90s. Oddly enough my car at the time was a Subaru station wagon with a 6 inch lift, big tires, and a modified engine! Good times! My sons and I are planning a trip up there soon, gonna explore upstream.
@@shutupandhike Oh boy, you will be in for a treat! Upper WCC is some of the most rugged yet beautiful hiking in the state. Look up where Sundance canyon drops into WCC, one of my favorite camping sites on the planet!
The trail is only 1.5 miles one way (or so they say). It's roughly a half mile from the trailhead to the creek, then about a mile to the Hanging Gardens. It feels much longer and takes a few hours, because the hike down to the creek is very sketchy, and the hike down the river is just endless rock hopping and swimming.
It wasn't bad. It was in the 90s, but you are in cool water for so much of it and it feels great. The hike was about 6 hours round trip, plus a couple hours of playing in the water at the falls. The drive is probably the hardest part. Let us know if you have any other questions. Have fun!
looks like a lot of fun! Not to be a jerk but I do believe that there are fire restrictions in place now. NO camp fires. They just finished with the big Wilbur fire back in there and just re - opened the access roads to the canyon... Most wild fires are started by humans. Please be more careful and save the camp fires for when and where it is safe to have them. Protect the wild lands so we all can continue to enjoy them! On a lighter side, do you guys do most of your music? if so, it is very good.
Good to know! I just looked it up and saw that as well. We are usually aware of these things, and somehow didn't realize there was a fire restriction. Got to remember to google that before we head out... thanks for the reminder 🙂 We occasionally record a mandolin/pennywhistle duet at the campsite and use that in the video, but most of the music we use is from Artlist. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@tandlsarizonaadventures9119 We were there before the current fire restrictions that were implemented on 6/29. We did check the USDA page for West Fork ahead of time and checked for anything posted about fires at the trailhead itself and didn't see anything. Regardless, thanks for looking out, we are always super careful!
Brings back soooo many good memories of living in Arizona. Thank you
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Rad place!
Enchanting
Thanks! I hope we captured some of the magic of the place.

That's awesome! I want to do a through hike of WCC someday.
Cool video, I need to check that place out.
Yes, it's definitely a must-do hike!
Astonishing , do you guys ever hike with subscribers ?
We haven't yet, but it sounds fun!
Janette just pointed out to me that we are both subscribers of our own channel and we hike with each other, so technically, yeah 😆

Heck yeah! 6 inch lift on a subi sounds rad! I haven't explored the more upstream parts of WCC yet, but I hope to soon. Probably next year.

Beautiful. How many miles did you hike in? Thanks

How was hiking in this heat? How long did it take round trip? Looking to do this hike soon.

@@shutupandhike I think that fire you had in West Fork Oak Creek was also a NO NO. thank you for caring.
