Did tatkaar after 18 years of gap !! Feel like this is the thing I missed so long in my life ...something like breeze that came in my mind when i did this !! Thank you so much for reminding me true " Me"
Wow! I remember Tirath Ajmani from India. I wish I were still his student and also his wife taught us Bharat Natyam dance. May God bless them wherever they are.
I wish to learn it. Glad I found your videos. You are a great guru. I am not an Indian but I love the elegance to it. Please recommend an exercise to make my hands and fingers more softer. I will practice the basic footwork and hand movements ... ! So excited.
Thank you for the video. Is it possible to share with us the music you used when dancing to 1st and 2nd speed so we can practice following the right pace ? I hope their will be more videos about kathak !
pali chandra ji's feet are so beautiful...nice full and shapely feet ideal for dancing...kathak is so graceeful..i actually got this pretty quickly coz of my years of training in bharatanatyam i think...

Hi, I am from Amsterdam and Love kathak. Like the way You teach iT step by step. How Can i get the Same size ghungroos ? I cant buy them here in the Netherlands. Can u or anyone help me Please ?
Thank you for sharing this, but this is not entirely correct. Aath shabd tatkar (or 8 sounds tatkar) has ALL flat feet. Edi tatkar (or heelwork tatkar) uses the heels for all the bols except 'Ta' and 'Aa'. This is not a difference from gharana to gharana. There is a prevalent misconception of tatkar having the 8th step as a heel, and that is just not correct. Also, since you are teaching the folks of the different speeds, it might make more sense to define it numerically, rather than just saying 'slow' and 'fast' speed. The 'slow' speed was chaugun (4gun) tatkar, or 4 sets of tatkar in a cycle in 16. The 'medium' was aathgun (8gun). The 'fast' speed you did was actually chaugun (4gun) in a faster laya (tempo); if maintained in vilambit laya (the original tempo you were dancing in), it would've been solahgun (16gun) tatkar.
can you tell me any posture with bow and arrow and releasing the arrow. I would like to know if there any gestures for Love /Lust I need some thing very negative
hii mam, meri eak sal ki bacchi hai, muze use besic kathak sikhana hai, to mai use sab kise sikhau, our muze aapke gaidenc ki jarurat hai, please mam reply.
Because kathak and Indian classical dances are like meditation, to go beyond the mind and spirit to experience turiya, that lies beyond knowing. It's not for seduction or gross bodily pleasures.
Classical Indian dance, in my view, is something sacred and spiritual. It’s a dancer’s way of worshipping God, basically through dancing to the Lord’s songs.
Just try To listen the beats and concentrate and try to go slow and then work up up going fast ok so right left right heel tap on right and then left right left heel tap on left and then same thing again

EXCELLENT.. I LEARNT A LOT.....
Thanks For Watching And Glad You Enjoyed It.
How are the legs to be kept straight or bent ????
+Tanvee Mantri Straight.
Tanvee its best to not lock your knees cause there will then be less ware and tear. try to keep the legs as straight as possible.
Tanvee Mantri ..maintain natural flexibility. Align the knee to ankle when you bend. Slow to high speed for warm up fast to slow for a cool down.
Thank You For Watching And Glad You Enjoyed It.
In lock down I used to do it
Thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed it.
thank you ma'am

Thank You For Watching And Glad You Enjoyed It.
Why is the attire in every Indian dance so modest? Its not revealing like in bellydance.
Cuz Kathak is not a seductive dance. All classical dance forms narrate a story through steps
kathak is the pure form of dance and is used to tell stories of Lord Krishna,Shiva and Vandana of Gods it does not have impurities in it...
Because kathak and Indian classical dances are like meditation, to go beyond the mind and spirit to experience turiya, that lies beyond knowing. It's not for seduction or gross bodily pleasures.
