    You cant use it as load for audio amplifier bcs of short circuit protection it is considered as 0 ohm during starting or when passing at 0 volt output

    Nice video, thanks for the clear circuit description. I will probably buy a cheap Chinese digital electronic load only because they are, well, cheap. Just sourcing a heatsink of that size would cost me more than the pre-made circuits from China. However, if you're like the person in this video who apparently has access to piles of broken and discarded devices that can be scrounged for parts, then this circuit is for you.

      I think I will try this. I managed to get a lot of heatsinks from burnt inverter AC boards. As for myself I will re cycle a couple of old cpu heatsinks from old computers. They happen to be compact and with high dissipation and surface area.

    You can also use some power supplies as electronic loads. I have some older HP power supplies and they can be used as electronic loads, up to 20-25% of rated power I think.

    Hello Kasyan TV. Can I replace the mosfets with power NPN BJT transistors such as TIP3055? Anyway I've been following your channel for quite long time ago and have learned a lot from it. Keep up the good work!

    • @nerddub
      @nerddub 2 роки тому

      you should not, especially for higher power applications, and for this application, where we want a voltage to control our load output, as BJTs require base current to control.

    Cool, you should build a real Tesla coil, either based on class E or PLL.

    Great job Kasyan. My question is how to connect the ampermeter that you showed here.

    • @nerddub
      @nerddub 2 роки тому

      same way you connect an ammeter to anything, put it in series with your load...... If you aren't sure how to measure current or voltage, please don't try to build anything like this without doing this research first.......

    That was my first and last order from them. Verry disapointed! I ordered a plumbing elbows that came in totally different shape and meterial, also the thread is not deep enough and can't be used. Anyway evebody can decide for themselves, but aliexpress lost me as a customer.

    What is the purpose of R6, can't the shunt voltage be directly connected to vin- of op1?

    • @cummibear69
      @cummibear69 Місяць тому

      We need both R5 and R6 for the opamps feedback voltage. Without either it couldn't work. The opamp in this configuration adjusts the output voltage up or down to keep the current fixed. Without R6 the opamp would just drive the output to its maximum or minimum, no regulation.

      I'd say to go out and buy one mate, it is simply not worth doing as it will cost you a lot unless you can salvage a lot of parts and even then you are putting expensive electronics at the end, risking their death if something happens to your device.

  • @SimpleEnough2k9
    @SimpleEnough2k9 6 років тому +2

    If you're so concerned about potential thermal issues, why isn't there any thermal grease on your transistors to improve heat transfer ? Also, why is there only 3 transistors/fets on your board while you're showing 4 on the schematic ? Did you overheat one or simply decided to shot the video even if the board wasn't fully populated ? It would have been nice to have a link to the schematics and some decent documentation instead of countless links to buy all sort of material. If JLCPCB is having such great deals on PCB's, why aren't you showing one made by them instead of one you thinned ? Oh well !

    You're channel is supported by JLPCB which offers EasyEDA software to design boards and schematics, yet you provide files for another software that is not supported by EasyEDA.... this makes me sad... I guess I'll design my own board in EasyEDA.

    @slordmo2263 6 років тому +5

    Well.....crude design at best.... those 4 channels should be better 'matched' to share currents equally....you're using 5% resistors... and those 'sense' resistors are crude wire wound type...might be 5 to 20% tolerance.... should be .1% 'low inductance' type.... probably a better approach instead of 'tinning' entire board with thick solder, would be to 'direct wire' the 'source / drain' with heavy gauge wire.... and the 'professional' load units give some sort of digital control of the load, that's why they are expensive, and much more accurate.... nice try though, might work if you're a hobbiest.....

      Think the general idea was for hobby electronist . But the basics is there... A small controller and a DAC is needed ... I would prefer to use Bipolar transistors since is Linear and all ... Just a couple of medium power transistors are needed on the out of the Op amp
