This was so informative and so interesting and many things I never knew about our great president. I can tell your admiration for him. Thank you for sharing this and it makes me appreciate him even more. I love Robert Burns and I so wish Lincoln could’ve made his trip to Scotland.

This was so interesting and informative. So much I did not know. I can tell how much you are touched by President Lincoln and his attachment to Scotland. I truly wish he could have been able to see Scotland. Thanks you for the information.

I found the wreath laying ceremony quite emotional, Monisa! Kind regards, Gordon

Scottish Civil War soldiers.. Great Uncle Robert Wallace, born 1835 Saint Fergus, Banffshire, Scotland. Killed during Battle of Wilderness, Virginia. First major battle after General Grant was named in charge of Union Army by President Lincoln. President Lincoln knew afterward he had finally selected right general to lead forces. Why? Grant had not backed off during battle, kept pushing forward. Great video Gordon...

So glad to see you back with another very interesting video! You’re absolutely right, Abraham Lincoln was a great humanitarian as well as a great president. He felt for the soldiers and their families, Union and Confederate alike. I have not read much Robert Burns, can’t recite anything from his works, but I do remember the line from an Outlander episode, “ Freedom and Whisky gang together”. That has lead me to read more of his works. Thanks and so great to see you again.

Thanks, Jamie. We moved house and have had a huge amount of work taking place so that completely disrupted us! Works are nearly finished now, so hopefully normal service will resume! Kind regards, Gordon
