    Scott Norton is a powerhouse! Used to love watching him head down to the ring yelling at the camera with Buff Bagwell on his back. He destroyed people! 😂
    Sounds like an awesome dude too!

    Some good stories but Scott does like the blow things up a little. John Nord was never 6’7. He was 6’5 at best, likely nearer 6’4. There are state down pics with Goldberg and Nord in 98 and Nord only has an inch on 6’2 Goldberg.
    Cleve Dean wasn’t 600lbs in 86. His heaviest competition weight was 445.
    500lbs behind the neck press would be the heaviest ever by a HUGE margin. Brain Shaw only managed 425.
    Only 15 mins in and with these whoppers I’m not sure how much of anything I’ll believe. A shame as the real stories are impressive enough and don’t need to be embellished.

    • @nbaldwin45
      @nbaldwin45 9 місяців тому

      So you claim that Nord was 6’5” but a sentence later he’s 6’3”? Which is it? I can buy Nord as being a legit 6’5” comparing him with guys like Taker and Boss Man. As for the lifts, virtually all wrestlers exaggerate their lifts some but the 640 bench is legit albeit with a shirt. Norton was legitimately one of the 10 strongest men ever to compete in pro wrestling- given that takes in a number of world class strongmen and powerlifters, that’s a pretty impressive feat. People marvel at Brock Lesnar’s feats but he wouldn’t make the top 20

    • @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252
      @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 9 місяців тому

      @@nbaldwin45 Ted Arcidi, Bill Kazmaier, Mark Henry, Tom Magee, Ken Patera...off the top of my head those are the men whose strength has been confirmed. Surely Norton is top 10 in terms of forearm and bicep strength but overall? I seriously doubt that. The competition is stiff.

    • @nbaldwin45
      @nbaldwin45 9 місяців тому

      @@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 That's 5 guys you named. Aside from Doug Furnas and Paul Anderson and POSSIBLY Nick Busick, I think you'd struggle to find any more who were stronger than Scott Norton, so I think he makes it into the top 10. Don't forget that Arcidi by his own admission had a crazy huge benchpress compared to his other lifts.

    • @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252
      @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 9 місяців тому

      @@nbaldwin45 Yes I only mentioned the guys whose lifts are known for real. Tony Halme who knocked out Norton was certainly strong and even dabbled in strongman competitions but I don't think he competed in powerlifting and I don't know of his strongman records. I don't believe Norton ever benched 600 pounds, much less 677 or whatever. Ultimate Warrior, Barbarian, Goldberg, Hercules Hernandez, King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd, Scott Steiner, Ice Train, Davey Boy, Ron Simmons, Crush, Billy Jack Haynes, BNB, The Road Warriors, Rick Rude etc. all were jacked and usually tall and I'm only mentioning wrestlers that were relevant in the 90's. No Bruno Sammartino era guys and no guys from the zoomer era with the likes of Braun Strowman.
      Again if you want to talk about arm flexion strength then I can see Norton being up there but otherwise he would be more in the top 100 unless proven otherwise. If you have powerlifting records then I'll stand corrected.

    • @nbaldwin45
