This seems to be a common thing with automotive UA-camrs. They start out modest with basic car flip videos, the channel catches on, they start buying luxury and super cars, they get themselves under water and have to start selling off their collections in order to get their heads back above water. Hoovie seems to be going through the same thing.

Ignore the EV, he bought a new(ish) Audi. The German luxury cars are known to lose value incredibly fast as it is, then you add the BEV aspect and there was never ever going to be good resale value here.

@@theacgkidit's not a tax write-off. Craig sometimes buys a vehicle because he can make 10-15 videos on it and hopefully make $5-10k in ad revenue/sponsorships in a year or two. EV's are still relevant in this way. Try to keep up rather than popping in and popping off at the mouth.

nah, buy them smart, they are good cars. Research all incentives and discounts and stay away from overpriced luxury evs.
I don't want one as my primary vehicle but I'm glad they're here. Its that many less people that are using gas which should help. I don't drive more than 400 miles per month anymore so I only spend 50$ or so for fuel per month & I don't want to add a charging station to my garage.

Cybertruck= how to spend $100,000+ on a truck that will sell for $50,000 in 3 months. Some people never figure things out in life.
In terms of the previous potential buyer, I don't like that you are blaming him. 6,500 miles isn't a huge deal on a 100k vehicle, but the difference between 6,500 and 13,000 is a different story. I can appreciate the difficulty of keep up with mileages for cars you drive, but we're not talking about a < 1,000 mile difference here. That's 6 months worth of 9-5 commuter driving or about a year of half driving. I would expect as a buyer that someone goes through the entire lot at least once a month and does some quick verification of things. Verify miles, start the cars (which is needed anyway) and maybe check for CEL codes.
I think you need to take responsibility for it. You'd be furious if you thought you were buying a 6500 mile car and it had 2x that.

A series "Flip cars of wholesale $7,000 or less and sell for retail $10,000 or less. How long to get to $75,000? starting with only $4,000?" That 1990 Dodge IS from the 70's. Designed in 71, and refreshed in the 80's. Carried that chassis until 1993. Good trucks. I had an 87. Drove like crud compared to a GM or Ford, but they were very strong.

I haven't been watching his videos for very long but I found myself thinking the same thing "Haven't I seen this before?". I also thought to myself most the way through the video that he definitely is a used car salesman, the prices he quotes and the time of things owned by him changed shot by shot, that probably has to do with the reused footage. And, he IS a used car salesman.

First time I've come across your channel honestly. For someone who seems to flip a lot of vehicles, I don't get how you could be surprised that an Audi whether it's electric or internal combustion, wouldn't depreciate faster than a bowling ball falling off the Empire State Building. All the luxury brands do regardless of propulsion system. They always have. The E-Tron is a good looking car no denying that, but I'd sooner take $50,000 and go to somebody like Woods and Barclay to buy an immaculate 79-85 Mercedes 300D/300 CD/300SD for that money.
I hope the IRS never audits him. The losses he takes but still buys cars and houses seems a little suspicious. By the way the dealer who bought the Audi started at $56,300 and is now down to $52,900 and dropping.

It's terrible. We have had our EQS electric for 1 year and it has lost $50k in value. And we've only driven it 10k miles. Absolutely ridiculous.
I understand the potential Audi buyer's concern. If you were wrong on the mileage issue (though 6 - 7K off is not a ton it is still obvious especially when it doubles the mileage) then what else might you have been deceptive/mistaken about?
That 96 Corvette has the LT4 in it too. All 96s with a stick have the LT4. Rare bird does not even begin to describe that.
Audi has some of the most bad ass looking cars. Personally I think they're better looking than most other luxury or German vehicles. If only they had Toyota quality....

I had a friend that was single and made a LOT of money buying and selling stuff. Just about anything from real estate, to vehicles, tools. Most anything. His motto was “you don’t make money when you sell, you make it when you buy”. I helped him load a rolling tool box of Snap On tools that he bought for maybe 1/3rd or less of their actual value because he had cash on the spot.
You yourself just said you seem to buy when prices are high. Then I’d suggest not doing it. But it’s your money. Or used to be.

The financial numbers just don't add up on EVs and potential Buyers hate waiting for hours to re-charge the Battery. Maybe an EV could work in the inner city for short trips but that's a very small cohort of folks! Stick with the lower priced ICE and/or Hybrid combos'. I am a SoCal small independent. I pretty much had the same thing happen on a personal car that I drove for 9 months and had put 6K miles on it. It was a C8 Corvette. Honest mistake as I never updated the mileage. Guy bought it in Texas, and mistake was caught before shipping. He had made a wire transfer already 2 days earlier. Issue came to light. Guy was not happy. I refunded the wire transfer back within 2 minutes.

17:00, The breaker being in good condition would not allow "Overheating" of the home wiring, because that would be an over amperage situation and the breakers keep that from happening. Code.
Now if the over amperage is kicking the breaker, then you need to upsize the circuit conductor to that outlet.
It's nothing to do with the Audi, but shitty wiring in US houses. The car would be blamed for the fire, but any "appliance" pulling that, for a long time could do that.
@@TheJaoMing I agree it's not the auto, but the wiring done wrong. We have strict codes,but they get overlooked, or on an old house, some with say a 15 amp that kept tripping,might upside that breaker to a 20 amp. That would be a fire hazard if whatever is plugged into it pulls more than 15 amps on a 14 gage conductor.
You did alright, you made the right choice liquidating now. I see the market on EVs only getting worse. Not all gambles payoff.

I have had multiple EVs, lost $$ on each one. I had ordered another EV, but when I tried to trade in my last (and current) EV, I was not mentally able to accept the negative equity. I opted to keep my current EV. The one I ordered: has sat new on the dealer’s floor since March of this year (2024), and I am certain that they are paying for the floor planning now.
you have a very old letter. They have fix and i got mine corrected already.. From ther start of receiving that initial letter to having the charging cable correct and the units undated.. it took Audi less than 90 days to find a solution. You should let your buyer know its a quick and easy fix. in/out dealer in less that 45 mins. Your Cyber truck is also losing its value.. so don't be surprised
No sympathy for people who buy EVs and loses money.
When you SELL at the WHOLESALE auction.........the vehicle is only worth what the other DEALERS will pay, understanding that they will need to mark it up 10%-15% in order to make a profit and cover overhead. If the vehicle does not meet that criteria, it will NOT sell. Its very simple.

Interesting point about the Ram truck. I always felt they were a little behind the times in the late 80's/early 90's. Then when they came out with the new Ram in 1994, I felt it was almost futuristic (if you will) compared to Ford and GM at the time.
The recall is really a warning about continous loads on any given circuit that isnt built for it. A Level 1 charger (standard house plug) pulls 120v at between 8-12amps continuous. While most standard wall outlets are connected to a 20amp breaker there are a few variables people don't consider: 1) That circuit is probably shared with other outlets that have devices drawing power form that same breaker 2) the wires that connect the breaker to the outlets might be old or inadequate to run max loads/continuous loads, think about running something like a toaster for hours. Ideally you should have a dedicated circuit for at home EV charging, whether thats a level 1 120v charger or level 2 240v charger. Either way you need to make sure the circuit behind it are adequate to take on the stress of high levels of continuous loads. To anyone thinking of buying an EV and wanting to charge at home do your research and consult an electrician before buying.
Also you almost certainly have lost quite a bit of value on the Cybertruck, when it first launched and people were desperate to get their hands on one was the only time people, for some reason, were willing to pay a premium for that "truck".
Finally, anyone who buys an EV, in the current market (as current EV owner myself), should understand there is quite a bit of depreciation, especially in the first few years. Rarity only matters if there is a demand for the product.
Or until you hit a pothole.....
It seems that electric vehicles are selling to people who have money to burn and think that they are helping the environment, but no one in the secondary market is going to be taking risks on them, because of the cost to repair is unknown. Plus, if you are watching, there are lots of videos of cars catching fire in peoples garages, and there are reports that some of them can't be insured, so why would we take that risk? Question is, if your Audi was loosing money by the month, why would you buy another ev Tesla? Thats why you lost 30,000.

I feel you I haven’t had the cool audis you have. I have had one A4 with 53,000 miles on it. Six speed manual AWD. Probably one of my favorite cars of the top three. The Alfa Romeo giulia tops the three with a BMW in third.

If the video "shows" a window sticker contradicting the advertised mileage, the buyer isn't wrong for not noticing it; the seller is wrong for falsely advertising it. Own it.
Moving to FL? I would have brought the Etron and put it on Turo. Rent at $150/day 4 days a week. $30K / yr X 2yrs= $60K then sell it at auction for $25-$30 and get all your $$ back.
