    Rest in peace, President Carter. I am Brazilian and I, along with my husband, have always admired you, Your Excellency. I am just a black woman who suffered from hunger as a child, but today, at 92 years old, I know that soon I will meet my late husband - also an admirer of your service - and I believe that we will be able to meet again.

    77 years married.
    100 years alive.
    Says it all.
    Divine Blessings.
    Stood for Peace, Lawfullness, Truth, Human rights.
    Spoke out against self-indulgence and overconsumption.
    Guided by The WORD.
    RIP. Amen.

    I was a teenager watching Carter on TV when he was inaugurated in January 1977. After it was over, his limo drove down Pennsylvania Ave and it stopped, and I saw Carter and his wife get out of the limo, and start walking down the street, hand in hand waving to the crowd, televised live. If I remember correctly, (it was a long time ago) one of the news anchors commented about the secret service guys are probably getting nervous, and saying is he allowed to do this? At the time, I thought it was one of the coolest things to see. RIP Jimmy Carter.

    RIP, Jimmy. You unleashed radical Islam into the Middle East and elsewhere by helping Ayatollah Khomeini come to power. Iranians have been paying the cost of your mistakes! Hundreds of thousands died in Iran Iraq war because of that mad mullahs.

    • @YouTubemessedupmyhandle
      @YouTubemessedupmyhandle 3 дні тому

      Well, radical Islam pre existed Carter and how is the US to control Iranian internal politics? If it hadn’t interfered so much before hand supporting an oppressive regime maybe it wouldn’t have happened the same way?

    • @parsaeye
      @parsaeye 2 дні тому

      @UA-cammessedupmyhandle: To understand the mechanism of the events, one needs to study the history of the time. Carter by withdrawing support from the Shah and behind the scenes contacts with the Islamists, set the bad events in motion.

    • @YouTubemessedupmyhandle
      @YouTubemessedupmyhandle 2 дні тому

      @@parsaeye maybe, but also the Shah used that support to suppress people as well, and he had moved away from the West, plus there is only so much support you can give a dictator before it goes wrong (in which case you get the blame). The Islamist component in all this predates Carter in any event.

    • @parsaeye
      @parsaeye 2 дні тому

      I'm sorry, none of what you've written is factual. The Shah had not moved away from the West! That would have meant moving towards USSR which he wouldn't have dreamed of! I appreciate you're trying to exonerate president Carter, which is a noble thing to do, as he was a very principled man. But his legacy regarding the Shah cannot be explained away! See Wiki: Jimmy Carter's engagement with Ruhollah Khomeini.

    • @YouTubemessedupmyhandle
      @YouTubemessedupmyhandle 2 дні тому

      @ I’m sorry but you confuse context and balance with attempting to ‘exonerate’. The fact is that Iran nationalised its oil industry in the early 70s and took part in the OPEC oil crisis, both hostile actions towards (parts of) the west. Again, your absolutist mentality means you think that can only mean Iran goes towards USSR. It doesn’t.
