    Timing is my biggest struggle, especially syncopated rythmns.. but doing Czerny excercises has really helped improve this. 🎹🙂

    for me the struggle is hand independence. I'll work on something hands separate and then when I put them together it's like I'm sight reading again. I'm currently working on the Aria from the Goldberg Variations. I've never worked from either of those Czerny books you mentioned so maybe I'll give them a try.

    Honestly I just started playing about a week ago and my biggest struggle with two hands is trying to read the sheet music while playing with two hands. Right now my biggest struggle is looking at the sheet music and seeing what note I need to play next and just being able to read it. Id say playing with two hands only complicates this issue for me. How long should I expect it to take to be able to fluently read sheet music? Thanks!

      Hey!
      That is a totally normal problem to have when you are just starting out. I recommend getting a lesson book or taking a course that takes you from the beginning. I have some course over on my website and I have a free course here where I go over a lesson book which you can find here: bit.ly/homepianocourse
      In terms of reading music, that really depends on the student. It could take a few days or a few months to master. I have a ton of lessons on reading music here: bit.ly/notereadstrats

    I have used the Schmitt exercises. BUT...I've been playing for 55 years! They are not for beginners. I also find the COMPLETE Hannon exercises very helpful..some of the ones in part 3 are difficult but I'm working my way through them! ❤❤❤love your videos!

    I purchased Czerny school of velocity and have to say it has been the biggest contributing factor ( after Tim's you tube lessons of course) to my improvement,especially hand coordination !🤚✋

    Merci beaucoup. It would be nice if you could talk about Philipp's Exercises.
    I am trying to break my brain and play your five finger exercises, but in one hand only do three fingers and five in the other. Since 3,4 and 5 should be worked more, I'll switch from playins RH 1,2,3,4,5 and LH 3,4,5 then switch. Quite difficult to start, but once you get the pattern, it helps for playing hands together.

      @LessonsOnTheWeb  Рік тому

      if your hands can reach it, I would use 5, 3, 2, 1 and in reverse going back down.
