0:43 - 1. You can't train all the arts, pick a few and stick with it for a few months (suggestion in 1 week: 2-3x MMA, 2x BJJ, 1-2x Muay Thai) 1:46 - 2. Get enough sleep 2:53 - 3. Be patient 3:22 - 4. Evaluate if you're training with the right people/coach 3:55 - 5. Travel to find better training 4:38 - 6. Take 1 day off for resting, not rusting 5:20 - 7. Skip on workouts if necessary Had to watch this video twice because the advice really helpful, especially since I've been training MMA, Wrestling, BJJ and Muay Thai/Boxing in a week. Writing these notes if I need to come back to the video to listen again :)
3 times per week is ideal for me. I come back rested, mentally fresh and give it my all for 2 hours of JKD or Jiu Jitsu every time I train. I don't go for short term fixes. I go for the long term (15 years now). Step by step and the thing gets done. Keep doing the basics. There is something to be said for online/DVD training tools at home for when you cannot make ot to the gym. Those tools are very underrated. Another excellent video from Mark. Thank you sir!
Longevity is definitely something to keep in mind. What good is all the hard training if you will have consequences. Especially brain damage. So keep doing what you're doing because it's working for you.
I train BJJ 3 times a week, 2 times a week I train Boxing or Muay Thai. Once a week, usually Saturday morning I do conditioning training. On Sunday I do recovery sessions, go to massages and try to take some good rest
I like your tag line: Train Smart First, then Hard. Ironically, the training smart part is the hard part. I noticed in my own training that when I try to do more (more sessions, longer sessions, more sparring, more weights, etc) I get injured and that sets me back. Slow and steady - and smart - gets me results faster. I look long term, and get there faster in the short term. Ironic.
I very much relate to this. So far I´ve been very lucky and not taking on any (bigger) injuries - however, when I try to do "more", I first notice it on my motivation. I get less motivated for each session - and mental and emotional fatigue sets in quicker. I´m not trying to be world champ, so for me it´s way better to have 3-4 solid sessions a week, than 5-6 and certainly 6++ a week. This principle goes for many things in life, btw.
3:55 what if my parents wouldn't give me permission to travel? Is there any way? But thanks for the video it's so nice and I learned so many benefits things ☺️😊 I wanna know what should I do first while training, how many hours should I run like some important things Thanks
I did, but when I found out it was transmissible I stopped training with people during the outbreak. You should only do light training with herpes as your immunity is compromised.

What is your goal? General combat readiness?
If your goal is MMA, you need MMA specific training.

Yes, training smart is the hard part. That's why we tend to figure it out later or never. :)
Normally, it is after injuries that one figures out that it is better to slow down. Ces't la vie!

Good stuff coach. Can I come train with you?
Do you want herpes outbreak?
Did you train when you got an outbreak? I don’t want people thinking I’m dirty
