One important thing about the Supply Convoy is that it allows artillery to fire after moving. By combining artillery and the Supply Convoy, you can move forward and fire in the same turn.
I love Military Engineers. Hands down the best support unit. Two Engineers working in tandem to lay down railroads can super power a domination game by speeding units from your established cities in the rear to the front rapidly. And rushing infrastructure in rapidly expanding new cities is so helpful in avoiding slowdowns from housing shortage. Love that they can repair pillaged improvements at no cost to their charges. One of my favorite units.
Even regular builders can repair pillages without using their charges. In fact, even great merchants have the build function after monopolies and corps and can repair tiles for free!
@@MohProbs wait what? they already do use air units. Just recently had a game where they kept attacking my units with jet fighters so I had to build some AA support units to protect them.

11:32 ok that logically should have caused nuclear fallout over the anti air. I always thought that only the unit that it on the same tile with the ram gets the walls damage bonus, not every unit that attacks the city! Military engineers can also contribute to city projects production once you have Royal Society government building. Because their cost does not rise like builders', it sometimes makes them a better option.
Great video! I want more info on what determines a nuke being blocked or not. I think it it’s always possible, but more or less likely depending on defending air-defense strength.
if it's through a bomber, the bomber needs to be brought under 50HP - which should always happen unless you only have 1 AA gun vs bomber or 2AA guns vs jet bomber. SAMs should cancel it no matter what. if it's through other means, such as a nuke silo or nuclear sub, based on my testing, I believe it should happen as long as the tile targeted is within 1 tile of the AA, but I didn't do extensive testing on this
I think it's based on the power of the unit that lunches them too... I remember reeding discussion on the reddit one day, and somone mentioning that using nuke sub Armada is the safest option and makes it basically unblockable or something like that... They were calculating anti air capebelities of GDR too. Now that I think of it, maby there is more to that and combining Aircraft carriers to armadas isn't totally pointless
should rams/siege towers be right next to the city tile, or it works even if it is 2-3 tiles from the main city tile, for example right outside the board?
no - unless i misspoke in the video - the ram or tower needs to be adjacent to the city center. then ANY melee / anti-cav unit will be able to use its effects
The fact that building roads costs charges but railroads are "free" (you spend resources but still) is so annoying. Just make roads free too, it's not like building TWO whole road tiles per engineer is anywhere close to a good use of their charges 9:50 also that's just not how it works. Im pretty sure damage is calculated through raw difference in mil strength, not relative one. So +5 is quite good.
yeah agree that roads should just be free. and yeah - appreciate you giving your thoughts. +5 is definitely good and will add up if you have enough units to take advantage of it

there technically isn't a support unit for renaissance walls. best bet would be maybe getting some siege units in the mix (bombards)

Why can't I upgrade my battering ram into a siege tower?
without seeing your game, it could be: not enough gold, didn't research the right technology, battering ram isn't in friendly territory
