Is there any way to change the UI in the game itself? I find city names and borders to be annoying and on the way many times. They also break some of the immersion, when u have big ass flags on top of the units.. Thanks for the videos, they're great!
there are some UI mods which change the look of the game and improve the menus and whatnot, but not sure i've seen anything that removes those things you mentioned
😮 thanks for the upload
thanks brotha! hope all is well with you
I started the series with CIV III in 2002 without any kind of a guide or walkthrough when i found one of your videos by chance it was informative and quite entertaining So i really Hope your channel takes of With the new addition of CIV VII and hope you keep making guides cause you are simply amazing and i think you can bring this game for an entire new audience
appreciate the love! stay tuned 👀
I can't tell you how helpful this has been. I'm a vet of Civ but 6 is quite different so thanks again.
thanks for taking the time to watch :D
I just started playing this mode. Has anyone kept playing until the asteroids completely destroy all land tiles? I'm playing now to see if something like that could happen. Or else you could just keep going and going? Right?
I never went all the way, but generally the game will end before everything gets destroyed because one of the civs should win at that point
Thanks!
no, thank YOU
Civ=Risk board game
in some ways yes, but risk is more of a war game while civ has a lot of other elements incorporated
Rise of Nations was fun. So why do I hate this Civilization game?
totally different games! both have historical themes but rise of nations is RTS while civ is 4x / turn based
@MohProbs ahhhh! Okay. Yeah, I hate turn based. Absolutely despise it. It's why I never could get into final fantasy despite it being so cool.
Played my first game yesterday. I don't know what I did to Roosevelt...
lol! i remember my first game ever and Roosevelt decided to attack me randomly in the late game as well... it did not go well
This is actually a guide for players who understand the basic game. Not newbies.
somewhat yes. i explain some basics like how the game works, but assume you might have played the tutorial or know some basics like settling a city and producing things
The guy that converts barbs with mele units is overpowerd, becuse zombies also counts as them
are you referring to the mayan twins in the heroes & legends mode? or unifier qin shi huang?
Omgggg thank you. i just bought the main game and the mods all for 20 bucks and ive just been playing blinddddd 😭
thanks for taking the time to watch :D
How do you build new cities? I had a settler and went all over the place but the option to build a city did not come up anywhere that I could find it.
Cannot settle in red areas
@@Warblertownsend I eventually worked that out but at first since the red was "highlighted" I thought they wanted you to settle in those. Thanks.
lol!
Looking at it. Not esp. a user-firnedly interface
lol! u inspired me to make a new vid :)
@@MohProbs Thx, like to learn it.
The fact that building roads costs charges but railroads are "free" (you spend resources but still) is so annoying. Just make roads free too, it's not like building TWO whole road tiles per engineer is anywhere close to a good use of their charges 9:50 also that's just not how it works. Im pretty sure damage is calculated through raw difference in mil strength, not relative one. So +5 is quite good.
yeah agree that roads should just be free. and yeah - appreciate you giving your thoughts. +5 is definitely good and will add up if you have enough units to take advantage of it
This gamemode would be a must have for me if it didnt spam citystates way too much. You prob have to start with like 1/3 of standard city state count for it not to be ridiculous 80 turns in (online speed)
yeah that's totally fair
Jesus Christ, I just want to know that the fuck the Buttons mean. There's no explanation how to navigate the totally new UI.
lol! u inspired me to make a new vid :)
@MohProbs thank you! There's no explanation on what they mean, not to navigate the UI or anything! I made a post in the reddit asking if someone could explain and all I got was "lol u suck, get gud"
i hope it helps :) unfortunately couldn't explain every single detail, but hopefully its enough to get u started
Great content, as always! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Tip, play as Dido, settle only coastal cities immune to loyalty pressure, wait for the game to end at some point because the AI can't overcome free city pressure.
Lol! Practically cheating
Why does no guide tell you about resource gathering and what all the various points actually do.
u need builders to improve resources and civilians to work tiles. check out my 6 tips guide for more info
Hey dude, just came across your channel and wanted to express how much I love your content (as a long time casual Civ player wanting to hone my understanding of the game ahead of the Civ 7 release.) I play Civ to relax and think, so I find the “wacky streamer” energy of the big Civ channels really offputting. Your chill, informative style is just what I was looking for! You remind me of Spirit of the Law, which is awesome. Hope you keep making content before and after the release of Civ 7. Keep it coming!
i appreciate the love! definitely plan on playing civ 7 :)
great video thanks for all the tips and info! Ive been liking the Faith civic instead of Production one, so I can get my pantheon earlier
yes - i agree the faith civic is better in most cases because of the pantheon bonus. i've developed my game a lot since this haha
I barelly played civ6 on the first months, years ago, but played alot of civ5 at max dificulty and bought civ6 today, ur videdo remembered me of everything i knew and used to do back then, ty
best of luck and let me know if you have any questions!
I’m embarrassed to say that even after playing this game for a few months, I never understood how the time to produce a unit was calculated.. I was always so confused why in some large cities the scout takes 2 turns, and in others it’s 20. Didn’t realize the production amount was important to look at 😂
it all happens in the background so it's totally understandable!
i understood the mech 20 mins in, without having played any Civ game. But i player similar 4x games before.
civ is the og 4x so makes sense that you'd pick it up easily
Thanks a lot! I've died because of lack of amenities. No Idea how to rise production and population.
population needs food and housing. amenities come from luxury resources!
dude idk what to listen im playing SID and listening to ur soothing voice HAHHAHAH
just leave my videos on while u sleep
Can you have allies?
of course!
You sound like the tutorial voice in the WoW Thrall tutorial level 😭❤
lol i haven't played wow before and probably won't risk getting addicted, but appreciate it! haha
I made the builders but they couldnt build anything. I walk right ontop of a mine and they couldnt have any actions on it. Later on when i upgraded then they were able to build mines. Wtf
For some resources you have to research the technology before a builder can construct that resource’s improvement.
yeah - u need to have the appropriate technology to be able to build specific improvements. however over the resource to see what you need
The a I does use air units, but they are defensive only. The AI has never came after me with air units. Unless I'm close to their city.
yes - u are correct. that has been my experience with it in more recent games as well
Very wellmade shoart and ultra informative guide! Appreciate all the effort you've put into it.
appreciate you taking the time to watch it!
great video man. i was so sure i could play for a while without watching guides but i have been proven wrong clearly 😂 i never make it past turn 50 (?) because barbarians spawn so quick. every time i send my warriors to eliminate a camp, another one shows up
yes - barbs are definitely one of the trickiest parts of learning the game and even now they can still be quite a nuisance
Hard disagree on the first economic card. God king is always better until you get your first pantheon
yes - after playing more and getting better at the game, I agree with you
5:00 ... or do we? (For those who didn't notice, V sauce music kicks in)
does he still make vids? :(
I always take out india , Ghandi isnt safe on my maps
can't trust gandhi!
Why can't I upgrade my battering ram into a siege tower?
without seeing your game, it could be: not enough gold, didn't research the right technology, battering ram isn't in friendly territory
MohProbs is the best expert on the internet when in it comes to the Secret Societies Sanguine Pact. His Guide is the only one you need because nobody know more than he does when it comes to the Secret Societies. His explanations are very detailed and very analytical! Look no further!
appreciate the love :D
Last night I was on my last move than 1 hr later i got off 😅🤦♂️
lol u got off easy!
This derserves more views.
appreciate it :D
I had 4 tiles all of them breathtaking, no improvement, but can't build national park on them, but I can build elsewhere with less appealing tiles.
is it possible that not all the tiles belong to the same city? that was one that messed me up
Ley lines get harder to find when abundant resources, wet, or new world age settings are turned on.
great point!
Thank you so very much, I'm finally getting into this game and there are like series with 6+ videos of an hour each that didn't cover half of what you said. I feel like this was straight to the point and yet very resourceful. Cheers!
appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Good guide! I've been playing with zombies on occasion since the mode came out. I still have some questions about the mechanics. 1. I saw on a Reddit thread that zombies who die to traps or natural disasters will not respawn. I have not seen any source for this claim, though. Can anyone confirm? 2. I also saw on a Steam thread that the Turn Undead and Dark Signal projects are bugged: they effectively kill the zombie then create a new one under your control, so the zombie you killed has a chance of respawning later, increasing the number of zombies on the map. Is this also something that's been confirmed? Anyway, some of my strategies for this mode: - Almost goes without saying, but you want a ranged unit and walls in every city. Remember that your city's ranged attack is based on whichever ranged unit you have that does the most damage (including naval units). So it's a good idea to build a high-damage ranged unit as soon as it unlocks. - Careful with your trade routes. I tend to keep my routes internal, and if I have international routes, it's always through water from one coastal city to another. - Have a handful of heavy cavalry stationed throughout your empire for defence. If zombies spawn in your empire, you want them attacking strong, well-defended units rather than cities, and heavy cavalry has that nice high combat strength paired with the ability to move quickly through your empire (especially through areas connected with roads). - Scouts will quickly become outmatched by zombies and there will be some games where zombies become too strong too quickly to fully explore the map. Feel free to build a scout or two for the ancient era, but there's usually a point where I pull them all back and build some light cavalry to, at the very least, map out a small buffer around my empire so that I know where to expand. - Play all civs as if you are playing as Japan. That is, keep your cities as close together as possible. This way, if zombies spawn anywhere in your empire, units defending neighbouring cities can rush in as well (it's also really visually satisfying to have a super-dense empire of ~15 cities or so all clustered together, but that could just be my aesthetic taste). - Traps and barricades... aren't all that helpful. You can create an awesome continuous barricade around your empire, and it will be really visually satisfying, but it's all pointless if the zombies just pop into existence in the heart of your empire because you cleared a barbarian camp there at the beginning of the game. I've played many zombie games where I just didn't bother to build them. I might change my mind if it turns out that it's true that they can permanently kill zombies, but until it's confirmed, they're pretty situational. Given the choice between a unit (costing gold/production) or a trap/barricade (costing a tile's yields - typically food and production, as well as the production going into the builder or military engineer), I feel like the unit is usually a better choice. - If you do build traps or barricades, remember they can be built in neutral territory. I sometimes build them outside an enemy's capital that's been overwhelmed by zombies to contain the outbreak if that capital happens to be pretty close to my own borders. - Zombies are great at defending against zombies as those under your control will have that global mutation strength. Pick "Heathen Conversion" as an apostle promotion to create your very own zombie horde. Just make sure that your zombies aren't making the killing blow unless you want to create more barbarian zombies.
thanks for commenting and providing some additional strategy! i don't have definitive answers, but some thoughts: 1. i'm not sure about this. since spawns can be later after they die its hard to definitively say, but that would make traps even better! 2. again - not sure if that's the case. i don't believe that happened when i was testing, but again, its entirely possible. I assumed it would work similarly to conversion through apostle abilities or maybe even levying
I really want to enjoy this game but it feels like progression is very slow compared to Civ 5. Civ 5 just felt like a faster paced game in general. Really hope this guide can help me see what Im doing wrong.
thats really interesting. i haven't played civ 5 in a long time, but i always felt like it was a slower paced game largely due to how workers and roads work, but interested in why you feel civ 5 was faster?
this was really informative! started learning how to play the game just a little while ago and having ALL these layers enabled was so overwhelming at first. comfortable with the base game now so this little guide for the governors expansion was really useful, thanks 😁
i think u did it right - i would start off with just base game, maybe the expansions, and from there start adding the other modes in to see what you like!
What about projects to capture co2 thereby avoiding the apocalypse?
that's actually a great one i hadn't thought of. i would think that in most cases by the time you and enough civs get to that tech it will already be too late, but maybe in some games its possible. Theoretically you could keep it from happening if you do enough carbon recapturing, but that might be tough
It actually took out all of the AI and most of the city states to the point where it was just the capitals with one or two population, made it super easy for me and kind of boring then trying to survive
what difficulty were u playing on? i feel like that definitely happens a lot in this mode
@ it was king or emperor, but I was also playing on a slower speed which might affect it. I kind of realized once I start looking at your videos and some other things that that might make it very difficult as the zombies may get stronger faster compared to the game duration
I PLAYED a WHOLE ASS 460 ROUND GAME AND eradicated a civ without knowing you could place cities under siege to disable the healing, which would have helped so much.
i'm surprised you didn't siege a city by accident haha!
How do you turn all that stuff on for Xbox
i think a number of things should be in the game's settings, but might need to defer to someone else here
Idk exactly what youre talking about but i know that strategic view is only on pc not console
@@MohProbs thank you
