-defeated the most powerful Mandolorian invasion in history.
-Subjugated a super weapon of an ancient civilization that had wiped them out before.
-Outsmarted the True Sith Empire and stalled them out for 300 years.
-survived a fight with Jedi and a betrayal of his apprentice.
-took the jaw of his apprentice in a fight prior and built a legendary assassin droid.
-brought the republic to its knees.
-came back from the dark side and resisted its pull without falling simply out of necessity.
-could use force storm and pull meteors from orbit.
-lost everything and came back to destroy his old empire.
-passed the tests of the Rakata twice.
-Was singlehandedly responsible for Bane’s order of two and predicted it thousands of years before it happened. And thus was responsible for the rule of two and the success of Sidious.
-Had an army of carbonite frozen Sith troopers waiting for thousands of years (Empire At War Forces Of Corruption)
-Rebuilt Mandalore through Mandalore the Preserver.
-brought down an ancient order of assassins.

Unfortunately, when Disney pulls something from Legends and makes it canon, it is only the exact thing they pull that becomes canon. So in this case, only the character himself is canon. All we know is that there was once a sith lord named Revan. But his story, his arc, the characters he all knew, etc. are not canon

The Old Republic is so deep and philosophical, one of the best quotes. Revan is the best character in the Star Wars Universe, the online mmo ruined it but with only 2 games, one he's not even in, he's still my all time fav.
The quote is so critical that if he ever hits the big screen it needs to be the basis of how the films are written. I hope to god that Revan is handled properly.

The newer movies could have easily done something inspired by Revan.
TFA: Rey discovers her powers and begins her training, and Luke recognizes her as a new Chosen One.
TLJ: 5 years pass and Rey abandons the Jedi teachings to go to war with the First Order, and as a consequence she aligns herself with the Dark Side taking the Darth title that Kylo Ren refused, as a consequence Finn awakens and his training begins.
TRoS: Another 5 years pass, Kylo Ren was injured, classic lost limbs because every Skywalker needs to lose a limb, and Rey is nowhere to be found. Finn does what Finn does and looks for Rey with Poe, they find her in a hermit-like state as she deals with what she did as a figurehead of war. Eventually Rey convinces Finn to abandon the Jedi way and to follow the ancient teachings of Revan. Finn and Rey then finish off Kylo Ren by redeeming him and letting him become Ben Solo again.

@@cuyohistoriador2858 technically although powerful I wouldn't say revan came out on top, his story Is quite tragic regarding bastilla, never seeing her and their newborn ever again and being trapped for 300 years. I haven't played the latest swtor stuff with vitiate yet so I can't say for certain but revan as far as I know so far didn't end up being the one to destroy vitiate.

Imagine if suddenly in either the movies or the Clone Wars show, Anakin, Ahsoka, Rey, or Ben had a Force Vision... and then this played.

This did almost happen when Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka went to Mortis and there was deleted footage of the Son talking to two Sith Lords, one of them being Revan's Dark Side.

I don't care what Disney does, Legends will never die. Legends is the true Star Wars, in all its glory. Even if Disney borrows or re-canonizes parts of Legends, they will never match the storytelling that was and still is the best of Star Wars.

While I do agree with this, at the same time - Thrawn. Written by Timothy Zahn. The man is a master - as Revan balances both the Dark and the Light, Zahn balances both the Disney and the Legend canon. "Thrawn" as a novel is a masterpiece, working in both canons. and to be fair - they made a decent job of Thrawn as a character (if making him a bit more villainous in Rebels because they needed an obvious villain for kids than he ever has been in any novel).
Legends has very high highs but very low lows. It's shit at worst and a masterpiece at best. There's very little consistency which I hoped Disney would bring but they shattered the universe even further...
Canon does have good stories and characters:

@@Memelord1117 Dave Filoni is the only reason I still pay any attention to the new SW canon. His work such as “The Mandalorian” & “The Bad Batch” are priceless works of art, & I say this as someone who views the Sequel Trilogy with a fiery hatred that burns brighter than a thousand stars.

My theory on Revan: He is not truly Light, Dark or Grey but is constantly subjected to the push and pull of the Force. As the Force always strives to seek a balance it can never reach Revan was always pulled to Light and Dark as the Force swung between the two ideologies. In many ways Revan was the Force mad manifest which is why he was so powerful but he could never truly control it. He mastered the Force but the Force also mastered him.

The EU Luke and Palp are both stronger, if you've read the books (Fate of the Jedi for Luke examples in particular) you'd not even try to debate this. Since you love SW I won't spoil the abilities and shenanigans he pulls.

@@thegoldenpath326 First of I have read the comics and books you are referring to of which you do not even know the title apparently except for Fate of the Jedi its called Dark empire. I know the exact measure of Luke and Palpatine's power (like luke moving black holes)they are both the top 10 force users of all time but not the best although it is quite close. Revan is the undisputed most intelligent star wars character its not even close in this aspect first of all he is a tactical and technological genius which even spreads over to his force abilities, he has mastered every force ability of his time in fact his insight and intellect was so vast and unrivaled he literally can invent force powers while in battle. Second Kreia who is by far the most wise and deep thinking person in Star Wars she makes yoda look like a joke, she says that Revan is the heart of the force which means his status is directly rivaling that of the chosen one and by the way Luke and Sidious are both inferior in terms of potential. Revan also has more feats to trump both of them and for future reference Lord Vitiate is impossibly more powerful than sidious and luke but together.
Feat 1:Revan resisted vitiate's force powers because you apparently don't know much about star wars I will break it to you...Vitiate is the most powerful force user ever of course his potential is not as high as someone like the chosen one or revan but he is still by his knowledge, longevity and immortality the single most powerful force user btw I am counting from a non will of the force and abeloth perspective. So back to revan, he resisted the true sith emperor's torture for 300 YEARS!! To put that even further Vitiate once drained the life out of a planet in 0.20 seconds which means that Palpatine took 30 years to drain a planet so doing the math i achieved a mind-blowing result that Vitiate is 2.5 million times more powerful than palpatine in his prime and obviously more powerful than luke.
Feat 2: He beat Mandalore the ultimate as a Jedi Knight. And that is a big deal cuz by the time luke became a knight he could not beat palps when he wasn't at the peak of his power so yeah revan did not even use the force he beat him in a duel without the force.
Feat 3:Revan learn't everything the Jedi had to teach him in a matter of years which is incredible because it took both luke and palps decades to do that also. You may argue they had more to learn but even by that standard revan outclasses them in adaptive learning which means if Palps and luke were so gifted they should have taken as much time s revan right? Well wrong that is because at the end of the day revan is simply more powerful.

Using Kriea for her insights is like using a Roman philosopher who said "Rome is best" when the person didn't have insights into the modern era, only their own time.
Look into force storm, and once you've learned about it, you'll see who invented it (Revan) and who perfected it ( Papa Palp). Ffs Palp could open wormholes and destroy worlds with it... Revan could make it cloudy and dangerous to go outside nearby...
You're debating the chosen one, vs someone who isn't. George Lucas himself said Luke was the most powerful force user ever, if you wanna debate with the God of the universe have at it, but that's just ignorance and arrogance in equal measure. So if Palp was stronger (using facts not feelings) and Luke was said to be stronger than him, then both beat Revan.
You've also switched to movie Luke and Palp, not EU Luke and Palp. This is about the EU, not the movies, stay on topic when you debate next time.

Second of all if you would actually research deeply Lucas said that before KOTOR so Luke may have been the strongest force user that Lucas invented not the folks at Bioware and Obsidian entertainment that also connects to the fact that George Lucas has not played KOTOR or knows anything about the Old Republic I literally consulted the guy who knows most about the Old Republic era including the fact that he proved that vitiate/valkorion/Tenebrae is literally over 2 million times stronger than Sidious which he did so mathematically by calculating both their most powerful feats. Unpopular opinion: I wish "the Dark ending" sequel just to see how the Repuplic and Vitiate would deal against Dark Revan and Fallen Bastila combined with a power of the Star Forge.

Which is silly to say. Light does not require darkness. Darkness is the absence of light, but light has no connection to dark. This is in the literal sense, of course. In the Force sense we don't actually know anything about how they're connected.

The writing in kotor was so good that the canon could either have been dark or light side revan. Nowadays evil chooses in rpgs feel so forced because you usually play as a hero who’s supposed to help everyone and the dialogue really guides you down one path.. I still like kotor2 better than kotor 1 though, both amazing games
