Returning to pokemon tcg after 20+ years I find youtubers to be really helpful, but I find your channel the best for newcomers. I think its the way you explain things it just seems so easy to understand. Thank you for the content.
What is the best resource to pick up a deck? Do people mostly just piece them together across vendors on tcg player? Or is there a website that can generally handle a full deck order more often? I’d like to just buy all my cards at once. Thanks!
I actually like how you mentioned how players dont see instant success with harder decks (like Gardevior you mentioned) . Playing different decks also lets you learn how to beat them too.
Coming from Yugioh, hard to play decks like D/D/D, while inherently powerful, take time to learn.
Plus the burnout you face in high level tournaments trying to remember optimal play lines and resource management after multiple rounds. Thats a hidden cost of piloting difficult deck that doesn't get talked about enough imo.
As someone who’s moved from Yugioh it’s great to see the community is so welcoming and supportive (I’m sure there’s a couple bad eggs but it’s nowhere near as bad as Yugioh).
Water’s my favourite type so I may check out Chien-Pao for my next deck. Thanks for the video!
Since you like dipping into the rogue territory you should check out any of the arceus armarouge decks that have done well in tournies, some with monki, hands, etc. Or straight up just armarouge. It's one of my favorite decks but i almost never see gameplay on it nowadays

Dialga vstar is my pokemon deck when i played PTCG in June 2023. It was a rough time for dialga after intrepid sword Zacian V, metal saucer and red balloon rotated.
The introduction of metal maker Metang gave me a chance to change the structure. Andrew Hedrick winning list quite decent but i played 2 carmine + 2 professor research in twilight masquerade, i played 4 beldum , 3 metang and i played a manaphy as i had trauma of getting bench sniped

Personally I don’t like to use meta because it doesn’t feel as special and as satisfying to pull off a win with a deck that everyone is playing. If I have the choice to go rogue and still do really good, I’m going rogue.

I'm still confused on dialga v stars v star ability so I can't put another energy down right? Basically I get another turn and just attack
After Dialga’s VSTAR attack, you get a whole other turn. You can do all your abilities, attach from hand, play item cards, and play a supporter.

i learned that meta decks only work in the stores that most National or worlds qualifiers
True, because they can't tweak their deck anytime they like, have to be 3 decks beat all.
If you know what your opponent's deck, you may tweak accordingly to win easier.

March/April 2025.
The way rotation works is that at the bottom-left hand corner of every card is a tournament marking. It’s a single letter. Right now any card with “F”, “G”, or “H” is legal. When rotation happens, the oldest letter is no longer legal and the newest letter is now legal.
In March/April 2025, “F” will no longer be legal and “G”, “H”, and “I” are Standard legal.
In March/April 2026, “G” will no longer be legal and “H”, “I”, and “J” are Standard legal.
And so on.

How hard is Lugia Vstar to play as a beginner? Also loved the vid
Thanks for watching! Generally speaking Lugia is on the easier end, but it’s heavily dependent on achieving a very specific board state before the end of your second turn or you’re most likely cooked. Some of the early game sequencing can be tricky, but it’s still one of the easier decks to play IMO.
