    Parts changers.
A gob of JB weld would have saved the guy 200 bucks.

Those were interesting cars. If I'm not mistaken, that 4.6L V8 32-valve engine is exclusive to that car only, in that it is the only front wheel drive transverse mounted application of that, using the unique bellhousing bolt pattern for front wheel drive cars, and backed by an AX4N transaxle. I've often wondered how well they would hold up to all that power for the long term. Definitely a worthy competitor to Cadillac's Northstar V8.

They are quite reliable and can easily reach high mileage, although the AX4N is often seen as the weak point

@@070nino070 okay THAT is definitely an achievement, if the air suspension is still working. They definitely were quite problematic right across the entire Lincoln line. Pretty much most, ended up being replaced with conventional springs due to cost.

@@michaelchan8915 lots of discussions on the air ride on Lincoln forums. Nowadays, air suspension isnt too expensive to replace. And if treated well it can last very long, plus it drives way better than springs

You are the man. I am happy that you found a quality dealership that lets you work at your best. Rush dealers are also nice places to work. I know a bunch of great guys that I met at Rush dealerships. Joliet and Carol Stream were convenient to try out new stuff.

I don't know if you help with repairs or diagnosis over the internet so if not just ignore this. I have a 2000 F-150 xlt with the 5.4 4x4 I took it through the car wash and on the way home the overdrive light started flashing and it would shutter and stall if tried to take off from a stop also the service engine light came on shortly after. I managed to get it home (Luckily it was only .5 miles away from where is started happening) and disconnected and reconnected the battery and all of the service lights were off but as soon as I put it in gear they would come back on and the truck would barely run and shake and shutter. I tried it in 4H and the same thing happened. Then I put it in 4L to see if I could get it to move and it did. Do you think my transmission is blown? I sure hope not. Before the carwash it would shift like butter, like it always has, couldn't even feel the shifts. It was shifting like that before all day when I was driving around town. The carwash was super intense and shook the whole truck. Do you think its possible it could've knocked a wire loose or got water into a control module? Is it okay to drive it in this state and also in 4L to the shop I work at that is about 3.5 miles away in order for it to get scanned and looked at? I would take the backroads and go around 10 mph so it would be a little more mileage. Thank you for reading and potentially your help. I am a 21 year old novice who just got a job at an engine/repair shop and am learning a lot. I have done car repairs my whole life and I love the trade and hope to one day be as knowledgeable as you are. Also I have had this truck since I was 16 and maintained it mechanically perfectly since I got my hands on it. I have never beaten on it (besides towing at just below the max recommended load). The truck has a Ford certified reman engine that runs without a tick so she's got some life in her. This truck means a lot to me and it would be very sad to have to junk it.

Check codes on the pcm and tcm. Do a serious look at the connectors that might have taken a water blast especially on the transmission. Old seals on the connectors with a pressure wash is a bad combo

You just got water somewhere it doesn't belong
Module connection or on a ignition coil
2 wheel drive is what I would have it in not 4L
The shaking is because it's missfiring because if the water
Nay need to dry off with some shop air around the ignition coils just blow around them and get all the water off and on the passenger firewall in the engine bays is where the computer is at, make sure to blow those connections out
Hell you may find it's already dried out and running fine when you get up to go to work

All is well. Thank goodness my baby is alright. After scanning and doing some investigation I found a blown fuse. Thank goodness it was so simple. Never going to that car wash again.

Alot of first world problems on that car. Its pretty reliable for such a type car. In my experience anyway.
