But or Rent - Sing 2 - • Titan A.E.
Can-do koala Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal performers prepare to launch a dazzling stage extravaganza in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There's just one hitch -- he has to find and persuade the world's most reclusive rock star to join them. You should do Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Bebe's Kids and James and the Giant Peach!! Classics
I remember watching this in the cinema, and when Jimmy Crystal half-heartedly said goodnight to Porsha and called her a spoiled little brat when he didn't get a reply, this little girl next to me legit GASPED out loud and whisper-shouted to her mother "That's so MEAN!", like she couldn't believe someone would say that to their own daughter.
And then when she did her big song Could Have Been Me, the mother gaped at the screen and said "That was amazing". She was in such genuine awe, it made me smile.
Aww that's adorable lol.
A wonderful story 🥰
Me too.
It makes you realize thru and thru Johnny has a better father than Porsche does
Porsha is genuine my ass. Her and her father both suck. I don't see how people actually believe that Porsha is a "complex character". She was a whiny, petty, arrogant, entitled cunt who got on my nerves more than once. I couldn't stand to hear that bitch speak unless she complained about something that was her fault and never took accountability for it. Porsha was the EXACT type of character I thought she was when I first saw her and STAYED that way through the end. SHE NEVER CHANGED, hell when she hijacked Rosita's role without even auditioning she insults Rosita "for being old and fearful". I despise this character and annoyed how people are blind to think that Porsha is a good person. She's not.
I love the parallel in both movies, they basically start and end with the same shot: Buster looking on in wonder. It’s like it all came full circle and his dream finally came true
This was a great sequel I really felt like this was rosita's movie just like how in the last one it was Mena's movie.
Actually I think that the first one was more Jonny and me as movie but I completely agree with the second one
@@sunnywingsoffire1610 28:35 has my most favorite number in the world, which is 17!
Both of them were Buster Moon’s movies. He was just awesome. But i agree, we have seen more of Rosita in this one
@sunnywingsoffire1610 really I actually thought it was ashs
It’s rare the sequel to a musical movie surpassses the original and this was beautifully done .
Scarlett Johansson’s characters story of getting Cab to be in the show mirrors how she actually got U2 to allow their songs in the movie in real life. Bono was on board but had to convince the whole band for permission to use their music. Scarlett sang her own rendition of “stuck in a moment and you can’t get out of it” and it was so good and heartfelt that they knew their songs were in good hands. That part where Cab hesitates then we see his wife and he starts playing and singing, ughhh brings my husband and I to tears every time! Thank you for another wonderful and honest reaction!
My favorite scenes:
"And thrust! And thrust! And thrust! You're not thrusting, Johnny! Thrust! And thrust! And tippy toes! Tippy toes! I don't see your tippy toes!"
Mrs. Crowley singing in the car
Drill Sergent Crowley
Klause bowing to Johnny and acknowledging him as great.
Gunter in the show
Right? Those are all so funny XD
You'll love this interesting fact man. 34:44 I understand Reese Witherspoon was at the movies and heard kids cheering for Rosita as she jumped and saved Buster.
Aww, makes me wish we'd gone to the cinema for it :)
i love that it took having to save someone to get rosita to jump, shes so selfless
i cried at the end too man. I dont understand the dislike people give these movies, theyre really good ;;
While I didn't cry for the FIRST movie... omG this one REALLY got me... actually it was a combination of the bittersweet nature of what Clay was going through especially at the end, but ALSO how realistic they got the SOUND of the HUGE audience in that HUGE indoor stadium building (i.e. when Ash signaled them all to sing at the end before Clay came out). For some reason that just drove home how profound massive human connections can get. The fact I really like, and have a personal connection to that song, definitely helped lol. I don't think I've cried so hard where they were predominantly happy tears such as that moment :P
Portia was great and had great character development. I thought I was going to hate her but I ended up loving her a lot. Such a fun and adorable character to the cast🥰❤❤❤
She is just ditzy and overly spoiled because her dad couldn't be bothered to be a dad. But they did a good job making it come across that she isn't a bad person, She just has bad habits.
yes I didn't like her either at first but she's forgiven she was like that because of Jimmy and I liked her going with Moon and the guys
* Porsha *
@@IrieTheGreat yaaa my bad on the spelling lol
@@GamingFanactic911 nah it's ok
From 36:23 - 36:37 that too had me in tears man. I knew somehow this song would touch my heart and I love this music! :D
36:12 was where it started to get me actually for a TOTALLY DIFFERENT reason- but YES obviously at 36:23 as well... actually it was a combination of the bittersweet nature of what Clay was going through, but ALSO how realistic they got the SOUND of the HUGE audience in that HUGE indoor stadium building (i.e. when Ash signaled them all to sing at the end before Clay came out). For some reason that just drove home how profound massive human connections can get. The fact I really like, and have a personal connection to that song, definitely helped lol. I loved this movie, so much more than the first, I felt like the story was better, and that Buster Moon didn't seem as much of a con man. But what surprised me was a character that I expected to hate, but rather liked. The guy they got to play Mina's, onstage, romantic, partner. Sure he was arrogant and dismissive, but it never seemed to be personal or malicious. He just thought so highly of himself. But onstage, and working with Mina, besides not getting her name right, he, seemed, to genuinely, give her his best effort. He never belittled her, he tried to coach her and help her feel and get into the character. He never gave less than his best effort. And it was nice to see him as a flawed character, but basically, still a nice enough and good person. He was professional and took the role seriously. I am sure, many, people will disagree, but that is my take on him.
Also, Johnny's Dad is another secondary character favorite. He is the Father who, genuinely, learned his lesson, and will do whatever it takes to support his son, and make sure he ends up better than him.
And before I forget, thank you for doing these reactions. I love tuning in, here and Patreon to see your takes on a lot of favorite movies. Please keep up the good work, and keep crying.
Very well said!!! Also, it's spelled Meena instead of Mina hehe ^.~ no harm no foul. ♥
@@RedRoseSeptember22 Ha. You're right. Thank you for catching that.
it's funny, at first i thought they were going to find a way to replace him with the guy she liked because they lacked chemistry, but it was actually so much better that they did it this way instead. much more realistic. that's how show business works. you aren't always going to connect with your acting partner/coworker, and unless something seriously bad is going on, you can't just replace them because you aren't feeling it with them. you still have to do your job. loved the way they handled it. meena developed a technique that not only helped her to be able to play that part, but probably future roles as well, since it won't be the last time she'll lack chemistry with a coworker, and it's not necessarily the other person's responsibility to change or fix her problems, but hers to find a way to make it work. and like you said, the buffalo guy (or whatever he was) was obnoxious and a little overconfident/self-obsessed, but ultimately not a bad person, treated meena fairly, and was a perfectly adequate costar. they did a lot of things beautifully in this second movie. i wouldn't say it was better than the first, but it was absolutely equally as good!
@@MonAhgasInsomniAroELF so perfectly said
I had the same exact take on him- sure he was very full of himself but he definitely wasn't "mean" :)
I appreciate when you are your authentic self JV. You don't need to apologize for being moved and crying in movies/ shows. It's one of the reasons I subbed to you and Jane too. So many people are barely reactive when they watch. To me, it means more when you express what we all feel too. :) JMHO.
Thanks Melissa!
I think I noticed that he doesn't seem to apologize for sad tears, but he sometimes seems a bit confused by "positive" tears if I am guessing correctly, hehe. But still, no need to apologize for either- tears are still a mystery but can be linked to ANY strong emotion. While I didn't cry for the FIRST movie... omG this one REALLY got me... actually it was a combination of the bittersweet nature of what Clay was going through especially at the end, but ALSO how realistic they got the SOUND of the HUGE audience in that HUGE indoor stadium building (i.e. when Ash signaled them all to sing at the end before Clay came out). clay calloway's is based on the late singer/musician cab calloway as a tribute to him
When they put sky full of stars i got chills and song it at loud. Is my favorite song from all times!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩💙💙💙💙
Many fans, like me, have hoped that Buster decide to "adopt" Portia after the end; considering that her dad is going to prison.
In which case, she'd fit in so much better at the Moon Theater than she did at Red Shore
Just a thing. Her name is written Porscha. Like the car brand but with an a instead on an e
@@MaxvdB lol in the cast it's written like Porsha, also the word for the car is Porsche
@@IrieTheGreat yes that is what I said
@@MaxvdB no you didn't you had Porsha's name wrong, it's not written as Porscha, not written as the car name, so if you want to learn how to say the name right, look up the cast in sing 2 and you'll see her name and how it's written in the correct way, so what me and you said different things, not the same.
@@IrieTheGreat jeez, I know how to say it right you don't have to act all crazy about a typo man
28:12 OH MY GOD YOU NAILED THAT LMAO
good reaction, love this movie so much and the wife coming behind clay get me every time
The WAY they did that, omg that was just exquisitely brutal in its own way. For a microsecond I actually really thought it was a living her, too. I wonder how many people actually subconsciously think that and that's one reason it gets us. While I didn't cry for the FIRST movie... omG this one REALLY got me... especially that scene. Actually it was a combination of the bittersweet nature of what Clay was going through especially at the end, but ALSO how realistic they got the SOUND of the HUGE audience in that HUGE indoor stadium building (i.e. when Ash signaled them all to sing at the end before Clay came out). In some movies I really love how some characters are based on real animals. It makes the movies really good.
Porsha is my favorite character because learning is something that you have to choose yourself and she chose to learn rather than stick being a spoiled child. It’s not everything, but it is the first step into actually being herself.
Music is the greatest thing to be invented
I agree
I have 3 kids that beg to watch this movie every day and I cry every single time lol it's a family favorite for sure
The reason I love these movies is because it's about moving forward, getting pass your hang ups, your loss, your fears to do what you love. If you can do what you love for money, that's great, but don't stop doing what you love when you're not making money. Don't let others push you down, belittle you, or threaten you out of your passions. It's about falling over and over again, but being strong enough to keep standing back up. That's why I love these movies.
rosita was scared to boot but when she saw moon falling down she just dove right there
now that's friendship
Just watched this film and gotta say, it is a fantastic sequel! My favorite moment had to be Johnny’s performance, especially when he’s challenged by Klaus. I genuinely loved seeing Johnny proving himself in that moment of truth! Really glad I finally watched Sing 2, such a good film.😄
Totally recommend: Cats Don’t Dance (1997)
OMG yes!! Don't even get me started on Darla Dimple lmfaooo!!!
@@RedRoseSeptember22 They thought she loves kids and animals. But she’s not what she is
That one song you heard during their sneaking in part is "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish. Also, the song Ms. Crawly was listening to was Chop Suey! by System of a Down.
Ms. Crawly is my favorite. She's so adorable in this movie and I live her voice
Quite honestly, I will say that sequels like Sing 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, and 3, and at least Toy Story 2, and 3 serve as great examples of how to make a good animated sequel, or sequel period, as good, if not better, than it’s predecessor. I felt like all the old characters had really good character arcs, as well as some of the newer ones, namely Porsha, and that this storyline was well crafted over all. Between the first one, and the second one, I would probably watch Sing 2 maybe a little more than Sing 1. Still, I would say that both Sing 1, and 2 are my favorite animated films that have been made by Universal Pictures, and Illumination. Anyway, thanks so much for reacting to this sequel! I’m glad that you enjoyed it too.
Hey JV! I like never comment on videos but I don’t think people have told you. So Halsey (the one who voice acts Porsha) is actually a famous singer and it surprises me that she voice acted.
I've been waiting for you reacting to this! haven't watch the vid yet, but I know your reaction gonna be amazing!
Never personally watched these movies in full, just from reaction channels such as this... but Halsey's song towards the end is so good. Got it on my spotify
Just watched this and thought it was just going to be a good animated movie. And then towards the end, I'm holding back tears like wtf is happening to me??
Man this movie was great! Loved watching it in theaters with my little cousins
watching thia at the cinema was incredible
like the performance at the end gave me goosebumps and made me cry and as soon as i left the cinema i wanted to watch it again already
Your reaction to this movie sums it up perfectly: it is absolutely amazing and they more than did it justice! 😁 I’ve seen it so many times since it came out lol, can’t get enough of it
That song is bad guy by billie ellish- ( the one from the elevator scene ) and clay is a real singer that played as that character (i think) and they also used his songs. Although hes just under different names and a little more drama on his character in the movie. That song miss crawly was listening to was made by a band called system of a down, and as a fan of them I cringed so hard when he called them a different band.
I like the part “if I was ya boyfriend” it’s so funny to me 😭
absolutely loved this movie. the soundtrack was amazing and the voices of the singers gave me chills. great reaction!!!
I honestly just wanna keep commenting to boost the video ✨✨✨
If you’re interested in hearing more of Johnny (Taron Egerton) i highly recommend Rocketman (2019)
Love his expression lol "she was on her stupid phone playing candy crush " lol had the same reaction
The beat in 7:42 is actually a song, its a sounds from "bad guy" song by billie eilish, you really cant actually hear it in a speaker because her singing voice is like whispering
34:17 - yup, perfectly legitimate- those are "positive tears" called "beauty tears" in response to truly beautiful things- there was actually a scientific paper written on positive tears I saw once ;) I definitely got PLENTY of those myself especially at the end when the huge audience and human connection experiences were portrayed.
I would love for you to react to more musicals. West Side Story (2021) and Tick Tick Boom would all make for great reactions!
I really enjoyed your reactions. Seeing how you (and others) react to Sing/Sing 2 helps remind me why the movie is so special.
33:44 - Ever since (via Pixar's "Inside Out") I firsthand felt those feel-good brain endorphins that often get released with tears, I personally don't try to hold back anymore, hehe. For the first "Sing" I actually didn't cry at all, BUT for Sing 2, the first scenes I teared up at a little included when Meena first realized she was in love with that other elephant, and and also when Ash was trying to convince Clay via song at his house. BUT some SERIOUS tears got triggered from me at the end, especially with Clay's final song, both sad/bittersweet as well as happy / beauty tears at just the human connections. They REALLY did aspects well such as realistically portraying that performer-audience and inter-audience-members connection at the end... it has been a LONG time since I've been to any live performance, and NEVER have I ever been to one that BIG.
Great sequel bro'! Fantastic reaction as well - that last song is just amazing 👍👍👍
It really is a beautiful set of movies I hope they do more! All the songs in the final shows are so motivating. Also by the way I think it's implied by the talent scout Suki that Crystal is powerful like a mafia boss, that's why he's not concerned about going to jail, probably has paid off a few corrupt authorities. She saved Moon because she's witnessed Crystal send his thugs to get rid of people many times before. Definitely a spooky escalation from the first film. Even Porsha is like "nah, none of us are safe". But it's subtle & at least he gets stopped.
Always love your reactions especially “ prove her wrong she was on her stupid phone playing candy crush”
i love the fact that they played Not Today by BTS with the little piglets, who else here is an ARMY?! i love johnny his part i freaking loved, i loved all of it and the part with U2 made me tear up when he sung his song with ash. i love halsey who played porsha too. the song you mentioned is by Billie Eilish. i like the fact that johnnys dad and his friend always have his back.
I love that The characters are All made to be Great in sing 2 it really is awesome that they made this movie to All of the best characters are in this movie with Clay calloway voiced by Bono from U2 it's so awesome thank you.
36:44 that’s the same singer from 1987.
Do You Mean Bono
My favorite character in this movie of the new ones was Porsche she's so funny
Ikr she's funny
*Porscha
@@Power_rangers_forever How?

So amazing 🤩
My favorite scene was porsha's performance
Your title is SO true and I was one of them. I just got done watching the full movie myself. Until At about the last 30 minutes, I actually thought it was overhyped AT FIRST but during those last 30 minutes thought to myself, "NOPE, soooo NOT overhyped!" I actually lost count of how many times this movie triggered tears from me (some were positive "beauty tears") ... which is only the second movie that's EVER happened for with me. And there DEFINITELY was one moment when it triggered an "ugly cry"... I'll let you all guess what moment that was but I remember thinking to myself "I can't believe how well they did that...seriously." Of course, that moment was even more profound for me because of my own personal connection to the song that was going on.
I really loved this movie, and I think that a really neat plot for a third could be an international tour or movie!
Edit: Oh, and they paid Ash 86 dollars... Not a lot.
Do “Minions” next, please?🤪〽️
I enjoyed sing 2 but everything felt very rushed. Meena falling in love for the first time, Johnny learning to Dance, The moon theater group sneaking in to do everything. Like I get it’s a comedy but somethings just seem really dumb and a waste of time. We got very little time between Clay and Ash which were very great scenes. I wish we could have time to develop clay as a character.
But yeah I agree that Rosita being the main star was a great point of the movie. And I love the final songs they performed. if they were real I would pay to see them lol.
It was like a new generation to these two movies
This video shows such a MASSIVE disconnect from reviewers and general audience. I mean nearly all the reviewers I watch mostly hate on this movie. Peppering only the most mild praise on it. While you're here ugly crying at the climax. Clearly this movie has the ability to really hit the emotional cords. While I trust and respect those reviewers (i wouldn't watch them otherwise) I have to say I can't agree with them on these movies. I feel like they are just TOO jaded or burnt out to properly enjoy this kind of film.
Which is honestly their loss.
you cry on the exact same part as me !!!!! it was truly heardwarming to see calloway wife protect and support him as spirit T.T
Sing 2 was a masterpiece and even better than the first film in my opinion ❤.
You're reactions make me love the movies even more 💖💖💖💖💖💖
I think it's stupid/crazy that most likely nobody even thought of trying to find Clay in his mansion.
I love these movies so much, thanks for this amazing reaction vid!
I love swing 2! I just finished watching so I could watch your reaction without spoilers
I wish more people would do this, it's such a great movie :>
You should watch minions! It is awesome and cute. But you should also watch despicable me 1,2,3 the first is so cute and heartwarming.
Johnny breaking out into song at the diner HAD to be a reference to the infamous "I'll have what she's having" scene. NSFW, though!! XD
This movie was a beautiful masterpiece both visually and story-wise, though! I really care about these characters. Hoping for a Sing 3!!
Johnny depp’s the professor I think it’s good 👍🏻
I💜This Movie Series, Especially The Lion Character Singing One Of My Fave U2 Songs!
And the voice performed by U2’s front man himself. Icing on the cake.
Watching this in a cinema, during the bit where crystal called Porsha a spoiled brat, some grown man at the front shouted “PRICK” at the top of his lungs 💀💀
30:50 Maybe that is the whole thing of becoming some warrior.
Loved this movie! I also ugly cried 😂
"hello" *BUZZER!* best joke in the whole show.
15:44 I think she’s a type of mountain cat. And sphynx don’t have that much hair
@milk she's a Lynx
I remember watching this movie with my buddy on December 22
Came here from the first "Sing" react. I felt "Sing 2" was a let down not because it wasn't fun or creative. I really like the set and presentation of "Out of This World" and would totally go see that show! The rotating planet rings in brilliant and the independent stories of visiting each planet featuring different singers would work well for a stage production. But "Sing 2" is more of a Hollywood formulaic story with fantasy solutions and it fell short of the realistic challenge of struggling to get financial support for performing arts, an area I worked in administration for many years and currently as a singer. Also, one needn't be old to know what it's like to have lost the love of your life.
Yeah the story was very rushed out, too many goofy waste of time scenes that lasted a long time. (SmeKing into the audition, moping, Mrs. Crowley being attacked by paint balls) i like her character but i like that she was in chat he and everything together in the end.
I would have ditched Meena’s falling in love story and change to one of friendship. (Which is a type of love) She Porshe could have become best friends. Porshe could have slowly become less bratty and give the role back to Rosita by her own choice. Also I would have spend more time with Clay. After coming to the studio he could started practicing with Ash and open up to the moon theater crew. Idk just throwing ideas.
21:44 Hay J, bit late probably but just noticed this; for the Ice Age Icon it appears to be the fifth instead of the third movie. Don’t know if that’s fixable or not, just the editor in me. Okay, I’ve said my piece, back to watchin’

I love the dig at disney with ash :>
I had the SAME reaction when they mentioned the name "Clay Calloway"... I thought "Should I KNOW that name? It sounds SO familiar!" If you didn't already, take a look at how the character for this movie got inspired ;)
I need more Ryan (the Tiger) in Sing 3, he got ropped! (also am i allowed to kinda want Johnny and Ryan shipped?)
I like this movie more than the first one and what harry potter house are you in? mine is hufflepuff even tho I never seen any of them but I know about the houses and other things.
Loved it👍🏾

Great movie tbh! Love it! 💗
So I think they got the name from Cab Calloway, a big band jazz great. Did songs like Reefer Man and Minnie the Moocher.
...And then they casted Bono. I was kinda disappointed.
I have a recommendation/suggestion.
